Hooray!!!! My family and I have never done the Magical Express before though we've done the one to the cruise terminal.
Love those nights in Portland before the trip. You know you have to get up early, but noone can sleep. 2 weeks!
Wow it is coming so fast! I am so jealous! We need a Disney trip in the future, just not sure when..can't plan too long term right now. Our cruise on the Fantasy was amazing, but our 1 day at MK just make me itch for a Disney (either DL or WDW) trip even more.
Hawaii is amazing isn't it! We are fans of the Big Island as we aren't into crowds or shopping or nightlife.
We are actually throwing around the idea of both Hawaii and DL- Hawaii would use aeroplan miles, so no flight costs, and DL we would go out of Bellingham on good old cheapo Allegiant (or Alaska if they were in the ball park) but with our Canadian dollar in the tank compared to the US, it really doesn't make sense right now...

I imagine only having the one day at WDW would make you crave more!!
Love Hawaii. I actually enjoyed Oahu because of all the "touristy" things to do. The Big Island was nice as well....definitely more laid back. We'd love to get to stay at Aulani, but WOOF, it's expensive!!
Bummer about the exchange rate........ Glad I don't have to figure that kind of stuff out.
.
DH and I are big Hawaii 50 fans, so would like to go to Oahu to see some of the sights, but watching the traffic on the news while sipping Kona coffee on the Big Island has really put us off going there for a longer vacation. I priced out Aulani but geees it's just crazy- we are at the point in our lives where we would much rather have more vacations out of our dollars over nicer hotels etc...
Ya the exchange rate has been killer- I wish I'd bought more US money when our dollar was stronger- the current rate basically adds 25% onto whatever the cost is- ouch!
Prayers for you both.....I know it's frustrating to have back problems.....I'm experiencing them myself. Take Ibuprofen as directed and try soaking in a hot tub. I sleep with a heating pad underneath the sore area and I put a small pillow to force that heating pad up where it really hurts. I'm sure the stress isn't helping any This is a big trip. If you have to take it slow, take it slow.....WDW will always be there if you miss out on something but I know you are there long enough you should still get it all in. Hopefully Michayla just has a bug and it'll be over before you know it.......Asking for some prayers, Michayla has been sick since last Sunday. She's throwing up and sleeping a ton. She's not interested in her normal activities. She was seen on Thursday by the doctor and seemed to be on the mend.....but she started throwing up again last night. Getting her into the clinic today. (she doesn't have any other symptoms that would say this is a flu bug so it's got me pretty freaked out right now). I also have thrown out my back sending sharp stabbing pains down my right hip & into my leg. It felt like I was on fire. I did that on Friday afternoon. I went to the ER and they did NOTHING for me and said to stay the course and look into getting PT. So both of us are needing things to turn around since we are leaving in 11 days!! Thanks friends!!

Ugh Laurie! Not what you need right now. Definitely sending prayers and healing vibes for you and Michayla!
So sorry to hear she is sick. 11 days should be enough time to get better. Take it easy on the back. Hopefully, in a week it will be feeling better. I will be sure to keep you guys in my prayers.
Any updates on M Laurie?
OMG!!! I hope Michayla is okay
How's Michayla?
Hi Laurie, looks like things are coming together. Hopefully Michayla gets better. The anti-nausea drugs must be making her real sleepy.
And your back, worse time ever for that to happen. I've had the cortisone injections and they work for awhile. My issues are my sacrum, damaged by radiation. I had the option to be put to sleep. While at WDW in January I did rent a scooter from Buena Vista Scooters. It was $60 for 2 days. Well worth it.
Hopefully your back is better before your trip.
Hi Laurie, just found your report and was super excited reading through it until i got to the end and heard about your back Last year right before our trip i did something similar, and the only way i made it through was 2 weeks straight of laying down with daily physio sessions. Needless to say i'm sure you don't have the luxury of being able to do that right now! As the thing that most inflames the sciatic nerve is sitting, my advice for a long plane ride is to make sure you have something supportive between you and the seat, stand up on the plane as much as you can, and even possibly have something under your feet to raise your knees in line with your hips. I know none of this will make your back feel better, but it might help it from getting worse on the long trip...
I'll cross my fingers that you can all get away and enjoy your trip as you'd hoped!!
