September 2015 Countdown!

ALRIGHTY! Who was up super duper early trying to add on FD to their package?

I hope you all were able to get what you wanted or at least your second choice.
Thankfully, since we are using the Armed Forces Salute room only discount, we do not qualify for the FD offer. We are also using the AFS hoppers and just paid for our dining plan OOP. If they didn't require us to have a min. of 3 day PH with the package, we would have taken FD over the room discount since we are splitting the cost of the room as it is.

Just think, we are so close to our trips!

I basically stayed up all night! Took a short nap after making it to 3am and then another short nap after making it to 4am. Booked around 5am!

Wow now they're requiring you to purchase a park hopper to qualify for free dining? There's always a catch!

I'm in a few WDW Sept. groups on facebook and one person had her reservation changed from AoA to CBR with NO free dining without her approval. She only found out after calling back because the previous CM was so rude and short with her. I feel so bad for her b/c now AoA LM rooms are completely booked up. I told her that I hope she got their name to report them because that is SO wrong.

Bless our TA. She just emailed to let us know she'd applied the FD promo to our account...and we hadn't even emailed her about it yet!

So...with the discounts that came out yesterday, we have moved our first two night to Coronado Springs. We've never stayed there, but for a $150 savings, we'll try it.

This is the plan now -
9/11-12 - Coronado Springs
9/13 - 20 - Villas at the Wilderness Lodge

So congrats to everyone that was able to get FD!! We ended up changing our resort from POP to CBR last week, and we were able to get it modified to FD yesterday! Now the wait is on 73 days until we can do our FP's and 133 days until we are there!!! :cool1:

Just booked All Star Sports for the 2-8th. Never stayed there before. We have a trip to OKW in January but this deal was too good to pass up and January is so far.

I thought it was fairly easy to add FD to POR. The website was sloooow but it was simple. I didn't have to change anything but package offer.

So, All Star Sports was not available for free dining on Labor Day weekend, and All Star Music was out of standard rooms. So we moved our vacation up by one week!

Now that we know when and where we are staying, I can be added to the list! Thanks!

Aug 29-Sep 1: All Star Sports
Sep 1-Sep 2: Fort Wilderness Campsites
Sep 2-Sep 3: Disney's Hilton Head Island Resort

We've changed our dates already! Some rooms opened up for the dates we were originally trying to secure....

Sep 5-Sep 10

Sep 5-Sep 8: All Star Sports
Sep 8-Sep 9: Fort Wilderness Campsites
Sep 9-Sep 10: Disney's Hilton Head Island Resort

Sounds like you all had good experiences yesterday....not so easy for me; my TA had to upgrade my room in order to get the discount, which is still less than originally but not by much!! I think some resorts had really limited options. We are considering changing dates because I was able to find a fd room available at BC a week earlier in the month. One extra day but cheaper than paying for the pool view we don't need!! I think the rollout was pretty bad yesterday the website kept crashing and nothing was available.

We are in for 9/26-10/3 got free dining at AKL which is an upgrade from the CBR room we had originally booked.
It's our 1st trip to Disney and we momentarily considered Pop to save money but after seeing pics we were sold!

I'm in a few WDW Sept. groups on facebook and one person had her reservation changed from AoA to CBR

Can you link me or invite me if you have the ability to the September Facebook groups? I loved being part of the January group when we went!

Also wanted to say we're officially booked with FD September 25-Oct 3 at All Star Sports! We were hoping for CBR, CSR or Pop for FD but all the standard rooms were gone when I booked at 7:15am the morning the promotion was released. I did hear of people being able to book standards the next day but I think we'll stick with ASSp - gotta check it off at some point if we're gunna try to stay at every Disney resort!

I'm so excited for our upcoming September trip and I think DH has heard enough about it, so I thought I'd take it to the boards! This is our first vacation just the 2 of us since our honeymoon which was exactly 6 years ago now. We usually spend most of our vacation time visiting family overseas and in California and sleeping on people's sofas, so this will be a real treat! We're also having a house built right now and have been living in my parent's house for a couple of months to save up while we wait, the house won't be done until September though! So a September vacation could not get any better for us! Also, this is most likely our last Disney vacation without kids, so we're making the most of nice dinners!

We have all of our ADRs done now. It took a while as we're trying to eat at mainly places we've never been before, but we are returning to 4 of our favorites. We're vegetarians, so I spent a lot of time reviewing menus to pick places that gave us some great options.

09/04 - (D) San Angel Inn (Been here several times and we couldn't say no this time!)
09/05 - (D) Via Napoli Ristorante
09/06 - (D) Rose & Crown Pub (My husband is English, so we go here every time for a taste of home)
09/07 - (B) Tusker House Breakfast (Another one of our faves that I couldn't pass up)
09/07 - (D) Jiko's
09/08 - (D) Victoria & Albert's Queen's Dining Room (I am so excited for this one, we figured it's now or never and we have to try it at least once!)
09/09 - (D) California Grill (hoping the catch the fireworks too)
09/10 - (D) Flying Fish Cafe (after dinner we're going to walk over to Jelly Rolls)
09/11 - (L) Be our Guest (DH's birthday!)
09/11 - (D) Raglan Road (Then drinks in Disney Springs to celebrate DH's birthday)
09/12 - (L) ??? - We always try to have a nice big lunch on our last day since our flight leaves around 8pm

We are also going to try the Grand Floridian Cafe and Kona Cafe for breakfast 1 or 2 days.

We always did the dining plan in the past but when we got back from our last trip, we realized that if we just bought the food we wanted to eat, we would have saved money by not doing the dining plan. The vegetarian options tend to be some of the cheapest menu items and we hardly ever had room for dessert. Also, we were never hungry at lunch time, so most of that was a waste as well. We also skipped the signature restaurants because so we could have a table service meal every night on the plan.

This time we're trying the ToW card and we're going to see how that works for us vs. DDP. My initial calculations (minus V&A's) tell me that it will cost about the same as the DDP, but we'll be eating what we want and my budget includes drinks with every dinner. Of course every person's situation is different and the DDP does work great for a lot of people. Fingers crossed I did my dining budget right!

Thanks for letting me go on and on about our future trip, 4 months, 2 days and counting!

How exciting!! I am vegetarian too :) Where will you be staying? I'm the only vegetarian in my group with 2 kids so my plan looks a little different but those all look awesome!! And I'm laughing because my husband is soooo not into planning or anything for this which is why I end up here too.

Yay, another vegetarian!!! :) We are staying at VGF, it will be our first DVC trip, another reason I'm super excited. I've dreamed at staying at the GF for 20 years now!

It must be difficult some times to be the only vegetarian, but at WDW it's great knowing that you can find something interesting to eat everywhere you go!

It is and it isn't. I think we cook/eat less meat than most families, but at a restaurant even if I have soup/salad I am fine. How exciting to be at the Grand!! Beautiful!! We will be dining at 1900 Park for the Cinderella/stepsisters meal so I'll get to check it out :) I hope my kids can behave in that fancy place LOL!!
