She was not informative of the situation or promotion whatsoever, there was a lot of awkward silence between the two of us lol, I don't blame her, just bad luck I guess.

I hope the glitch gets fixed and you are able modify them.
 
I was able to reserve free dining at Caribbean Beach Resort for Nov. 11 - 17th in a pirate theme room (yay!) online but when I got my confirmation through my email, it says "Disney Quick-Service Dining Plan (Complimentary)" as part of my package/reservation. I'm pretty sure I'm supposed to get the regular dining plan. Is this just a glitch? Anyone else?

Super common glitch today. You will be fine. MANY people have reported this :)

For the AP deal you got, was it only available by phone? I can't seem to find much about that deal online. We have FD on a BB @ CBR but our family would like to visit us and give Free Dining a shot (picked the worst year since it's so limited/full of restrictions!). They have DVC and AP. The best she could book online was a stinking Pirate Room at CBR 9/24-9/28. It's also their 20th anniversary so for various (obvious) reasons thats not super desirable :rolleyes1. For some reason (glitch?) the computer forced her into 5 nights too which was odd. So between the 'upgrade' to pirates and the additional night it's not working out to be the fabulous deal I was bragging about.

@linzjane88 I actually found out about it from the CM when I was on the phone. I always thought you needed to purchase a MYW with tickets to get any type of dining package. She informed me that AP and DVC now have a separate dining option when you book a RO called Passholder dining. It essentially turns your RO into a MYW RO + Passholder Dining. The CM ended up applying the late summer discount that was released today and added at the end of the call to keep an eye out for Passholder rates as Sept gets closer because they may be better than the 20% I got today with the late summer.

Edit: I just found this on another board.. a response someone got when asking about passholder dining from Disney... The MYW benefits are pretty great as well.

It's a glitch. Many people are reporting the same and some have gotten thru to Disney to have it be a confirmed glitch :)
 
Was not able to get what I wanted. I was not able to add free dining to my reservation, had to wait for Travel Agent to call. Travel agent said she was on hold for 2 1/2 hours had to get preferred room at CRB not standard. When I called Disney they said Agent had to make changes. I can get standard at CSR, but I have to call TA to make change for me again, she did not seem happy with me, I don't want to be a pain. Now I know for next time book myself.

Okay, after my little sweet granddaughter (3) pushed the END button on my phone during a 2 hour hold-time.... :charac2:I had to go to the dentist right. So on my way, while driving I kept dialing. Then just as I pulled into the parking lot at the dentist.... I got an answer, then the recording, then the music and I'm back on hold! Woohoo!
Well I explained my dilemma to the receptionist, still on hold and 45 minutes later I explained my dilemma to my dentist.
Then just when the drill was started (cavity) the dental assistant handed my phone to me. Everybody stopped. :scared:Everybody waited. I was talking to a real human being! A CM!
Any how, too late.o_O All FD rooms for my POR Royal vacation, were already booked and I got nothing.
But on the bright side, I still have our vacation in the place we want and the room we want for the days we want.
And who knows, maybe a discount or something magic :tink:still may happen for us

That would be me. I was online and on the phone at 6am central time. Waited an hour on hold, got disconnected, online modification would not work even though the dates lined up perfectly. I actually called twice for a total of 3 hours on hold and came up empty handed. Feeling pretty defeated right now and looking forward to a glass of wine when the kids go to bed.
 
So I finally got in and answered the automated questions, but now it's dead silence... did the phone system glitch or is this normal?

If I upgrade my view to a courtyard or bunk view(if it was available) I would end up spending more with the free dining anyway. Kind of a catch22 situation I guess.

I'm just pretty bummed because I was anticipating this being an easy discount to add to my package. Does anyone know if they send out pin codes even if you have a vacation booked already? Thats how I got free dining last year and it was so much easier than this year!

This is similar to what happened to us. We book initially with TA last August. My wife called at 7am EST this morning (i was at work grrr) and got thru at 8:30am only to find out she couldn't make any changes and had to go thru our TA :(

Our TA got thru around noon, only preferred at CBR (we booked initially at Pop as we can't afford a mod without free dining) so we were lucky to get a standard at CSR instead.

We go every other year and '17 is planned for Disneyland so I'm glad I won't have to stress about FD for 4 years :D
 
From the Disney website WPF&M passes are also good at the Miniature golf courses before 4pm. Thought this may help people like that pass a little more!

Also, keep in mind that Typhoon Lagoon will be closed for all of November and December (and some of October).

This is very frustrating to me as a TA in a busy office. This was a difficult day for TA's, but she should never have made you feel like she wasn't happy with you.
