Another lovely day in Oklahoma. . .

A quick update, today was an infusion day for dh, so we were at the clinic most of the day. Tomorrow more packing, and then we go to the hotel on Sun.
Things are getting done, but I'll admit I will be so glad when it's all on the moving van.
We're almost there.
You are so close. I'm excited for you & am looking forward to hearing all about your new home.

PS: I hope your DH is doing well.

I bet it was wonderful to move to a place where you could open the windows

That, and it was nice to live in a place where everything was modern & functioning property. The old house was built in the 1920s and had a lot of character, but functionally it had the problems of a 65 yr old house when we moved in...and we stayed for 30 years!

Our last move was about 600 miles. We drove but flying is better. I think you're smart to give yourself plenty of time to buy another place. In a year's time you'll really have a great feel for the part of town you want to live in and where all of the amenities are.:thumbsup2

We are moving about 600 miles. It will be easier on my dh to fly, so we are shipping the car as well as our household goods. We found a very nice apartment near shopping and restaurants so we'll live there a year before looking for someplace permanent.:flower:

Oh my goodness, every window painted shut? I bet it was wonderful to move to a place where you could open the windows. That's the best part of spring and fall.

Thank you for your kind thoughts. The movers will be here in 3 days. :-)

There is a great specialist clinic where we are moving. They have been very helpful with getting set up with appointments so that when we arrive care is pretty much seamless. We so appreciate them making things easy. :flower1:

Good luck with your move gwynne. I hope it is everything you hoped for, and than some. pixiedust:

Ok guys with all this talk about blizzards, roofs collapsing, too much wind, too much rain and fog and temps so hot Jo wants to lay down in snow.....maybe we need to just go back to talking about food. :rotfl:

I'm making nachos for dinner.

Yum! They're on the menu for next week. I throw some cooked chicken in with them as well. The kids will be delighted as I don't make them too often.

Gywnne, smart move on trying before buying. I wish we had done that when we moved here. but never mind. Hope the move isn't too stressful and goes smoothly.

When we were putting our house in Cornwall on the market to move back to Oz, my FIL helped paint the outside. He not only painted the windows shut but splattered paint all over my car as he didn't feel the need to move it. Just as well I adored him :goodvibes

Weather heated up but has cooled right down again, thankfully. Parts of Australia are still copping it so I'm hoping everyone has a cool place to retreat to.

Cornwell is a big family name (recently more middle name but still) so my 80 some year old parents still have a big sign on their home with Cornwell on it.....tho it has nothing to do with our last name for many many years. :teeth:

"Almost" our 46th Anniversary/DH's B-Day (Yes, we Wed on his birthday instead of Valentine's Day, another story!) Anyhoo, off to Niagara Falls (Honeymooned there) we go this wk-end, as we do every year. The weather is perfect albeit, we may wait until my B-day in March as it is also Ontario's Family Day, and the Falls is crazy busy on family Day Wk-end!

Here are a few pictures of our 40th Celebration!

HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY ALL!

Happy Valentine's Day, everyone! I hope everyone has someone in their life that they love, whether it be a significant other, kids, parents or friends. Our DS was born 25 years ago today. Valentine's Day has been about him, since then. There is no greater love than a child. DH & I will celebrate our love on a different day.

We are moving about 600 miles. It will be easier on my dh to fly, so we are shipping the car as well as our household goods. We found a very nice apartment near shopping and restaurants so we'll live there a year before looking for someplace permanent.:flower:

DH & I dream about living where we could easily walk to stores, restaurants & bars. We could walk to some restaurants & stores now, but they're all chains & the bars are further than my knees & back will allow me to walk. If we moved to a place where we could easily walk to those things, we'd never want to buy a home anywhere else. Good luck wanting to move from there. :p

I'm glad you've found a good location to help with your DH's health. As a person with a chronic illness, I know how important that is.

AND, now for a totally different topic.
These pictures were taken on our road, 1) While on our way to dinner, and 2) On the way home. Sheep gathering around older piglets getting settled in for the night. :)

It's so sweet how they protect each other.

Happy Anniversary! :cake: Congratulations on your 46th. That's impressive in this day & age. Beautiful pictures of the falls. We need to get up there some day. Have a special weekend.

Happy Anniversary @NFLDERS :flower1:

Love the photos, we stayed at the Embassy Suites by Hilton and the view of the falls was fabulous!

Happy Valentines Day everyone. It's not something we celebrate but I did bake heart shaped cookies for school lunches this week, I bet the teen has been too embarrassed to eat them in front of his friends :rotfl2:

DW loves the red velvet cheesecake sold in the deli section at a local supermarket. They rotate various cheesecake flavors so you never know when they'll have it. During a quick grocery stop a couple of weeks ago they had the red velvet. I bought a piece and told her we'd get more the following day when we planned to return for a more comprehensive shopping trip. The next day the red velvet was gone and she was disappointed.:( So a little over a week ago I was asking the deli people when the red velvet cake would be back, they had no idea. So I special ordered a whole red velvet cheesecake.:teeth: It'll keep in the freezer for quite a while, I told her if she needed my help eating any of the 12 LARGE slices of the cake just me know.:sunny:

Last week I ran into a thread here about a company that makes candles scented like various parts of WDW. We're not big candle burning people but there was a candle called "Haunted Manor" that was obviously supposed to have the scent of the Haunted Mansion. That's our favorite attraction so I ordered and brought it out just before dinner last night. She liked it, though I can't say for sure it smells like HM, it's pleasant.

Our DGDs were here for a while so we got them some helium balloons which they loved. One DGD wrapped the ribbon around her hand and held on to it the entire two hours they were here.:) A pretty decent Valentine's Day for us!

Another lovely day in...Calgary!! We broke a 100-year temperature record with a high of 16.1C (almost 61F). The only downside is that we're drowning in an ocean of slush as the 20" of snow we got 10 days ago all melts at once. The only other downside (OK, there's a few downsides :lmao:) is that we'll just get used to it in time for the next cold-front to roll in this weekend when we'll be back below freezing and snow is expected.
