Daily Fix Re: Hall of Presidents - No Politics Please

is it ok to ask why you can't have it anymore?
Since you asked, I don't mind telling. I'm "older" and need to seriously watch my sweets. Otherwise I'm going to have to be taking medication to control high blood sugar levels. That kind of thing runs in my family. Dr was very unhappy with my numbers last visit so I'm dieting and trying to get more exercise to bring them down.

Ohh ok thank you for sharing that personal information.

ETA: I see you added in more information. Well I wish you all the good vibes that everything ends up working out for you in this health endeavor :goodvibes

I haven't been around or at least super active that long but did see in one of the threads about this some people posting that they haven't been to HoP in the last 8 years but plan to go after it reopens - so at least some people felt the same

I hope they don't run into all the infernal booing I heard the last time I went into HoP. I don't care if you like the current President or not, it is horribly disrespectful to the others in the theater. If you can't go and be respectful, don't go.

Good luck with that, Jeff. Constant battle here too. Tried the oral meds thing a few years ago, and had 3 too-low VERY sick experiences, which assured me I NEVER want to go through that again!!

Maybe I put too much stock in my Facebook feed - but if it is only booing I will be pleasantly surprised

Are we still talking about the same attraction that last hit capacity when that new Jimmy Carter figure came out? I heard he did a cartwheel instead of talking.

I remember the President's only lines being the oath of office. That was when I could stay awake for the entire show. When did the sitting President start talking?

This is nothing like censorship. We are talking about whether or not audio-animatronics should speak at a theme park attraction. All I'm suggesting is for the sake of making EVERYONE's vacation as nice and stress-free as possible, controversial figures remain silent (again, they are audio-animatronics, not really people). This way, no one is subjected to something that they consider offensive.

Well, MY vacation wouldn't be "nice and stress-free" if I knew they were playing partisan politics by censoring certain presidents.

You know, I think chocolate pie would be pretty good too.

We have a cafeteria restaurant in one of our suburbs that makes THE BEST chocolate pie. It's a good thing I have to drive 45 minutes to get there. It's a good disincentive from eating myself into a chocolate coma. ;)

I make 3 awesome pies, that always get requested for me to bring to parties. Key Lime, Pumpkin Walnut (pumpkin pie with walnut streusel topping), and Deep Dish Dutch Apple. :)

And who decides who a controversial figure is?

I'm looking forward to seeing it again, whenever I break free of DL and get back to Orlando. Saw it with W, saw it with O, and now I'll see it Trump. What I'm hoping to hear is what I've heard the last several times I attended: cheering. Sure, there were people in the audience who didn't like W. or who didn't like Obama. But they maintained a level of respect to let those who really like the sitting president to cheer without booing back or shouting them down. At least, that's what happened when I attended. And that's the way it should be.

It's not like this is baseball and we can boo A-Rod when he comes up to bat. If the Yanks lose, what difference does it make? But....When we boo a sitting president, it's like hoping out loud that he screws up the whole country, just so you can be right. I've never understood that. Yeah, yeah, there are things I don't like about certain politicians, and I'll voice my opinion about it. But man, I hope they all can get their act together and make this nation thrive. That's why I can't and won't boo or jeer a president. Too much of my fate is in his hands.
