Trader Sam's Question

It's said that they are ceramic, not plastic. I hope they have some at the end of the month!

We got there around 3:30 and the line for "without beverage" was barely 10 minutes long. After a trip through DCA looking for AP Days merchandise, we're going back to try the drink.

Was it the same price with and without the alcohol? Any idea what the drink is?

We got in line for the bar. It took about 30 minutes to get in, we lucked out and got in the bar, although we asked for first available.

The "Chilling Challenge" is:

Smith and cross rum
Honey syrup
Pineapple juice
Lime juice
Ginger
Bitters
Pernod

That actually sounds delicious! I was worried it would be something with cinnamon or pumpkin or something. Hoping they still have it next weekend. We'll see.

I'm standing in line now. The hostess said they only have 2500 and probably aren't getting anymore. They only expect hem to last today and tommorrow. There is a limit of two per person.

Of course, that may change but that is if right this minute.

I saw a few posts on FB confirmed they are now sold out as if about 10:30pm PST. I'm surprised they did such a limited run and at a non special event like the Halloween party dinner at BB or a Trader Sams event. I'm bummed but oh well I got my 60th anniversary one at least :)

I'm not suprised. The lines were crazy. Up to two hours for some people. At one point yesterday morning, the line wrapped around the building and it was moving slooooooooow.

They are uber cute though. Not glazed as well as I would have liked but I'm glad I just so happened to be there to get mine.

This was the line at 11:20. It was about 200 deep I'm guessing. By 11:30 there were 40 more people behind me. We were able to get a seat on the deck for lunch. Most people were just buying them. We had the drink but it was just served in a glass.

I cant believe they didn't have the foresight to produce an ample amount of what they should have known would be a very popular item!

I might just be saying this because of "wishful thinking" since we won't be there until October, but...

Maybe there will be multiple runs of this mug. The Jack Skellington mug from last Mahalloween had 2 versions - a limited version you got if you went and then an open edition mug that was a different color of the same sculpt.

We were able to buy the jack skellington mug at TS in mid december. And we also were able to get the 60th Anniversary mug at the same time which was from even longer back, maybe August 2015?

So if history repeats itself, then maybe they will offer the mug throughout the season but in a different color. I have multiple colors of the same sculpt of a couple of TS mugs.

But, of course, I'm sure I'm wrong!!! Again, we don't get there till early Oct so this is 100% wishful thinking!!

It does get really frustrating when, year after year, all the good Halloween merch is gone by September. We go every year around Columbus Day and that dang poison apple mug is always sold out!!

I can't believe they won't be doing these at WDW! They are amazing! Tiki is not common in the UK so it would be a blast to have one. Never mind! Expensive mug if I have to fly west coast to get one lol! Plus I don't drink but I figure my wife can struggle with that task...

I read that they will also be producing an "open" edition, probably a different color and it should be coming soon. It just won't be the limited edition version. Who knows if it's true.

Thanks for everyone giving updates! :)

Did anyone see anyone getting a bunch of them to sell? If it's only 2 per person, the people who pre-sold 50+ of them are probably not going to get their orders fulfilled unless they brought 25+ friends to purchase with them or rejoined an hour line over and over again. At least that knowledge makes me feel a little better. I wish they had more cups for people coming later October, but I'm glad that the people who are trying to make a quick profit off these cups will more than likely not be able to.

Edit: Just saw the ones going for over $150 on eBay. :sad2:
