Week After Turkey Day Shenanigans

Have we talked about what bags you're bringing in the parks? Not what's going in them but the actual bag? I'm very torn on what I want. I might pack multiple options so I can change my mind during the trip.

I'm trying to decide if I want to wear a cross body small purse for my phone, license, lip balm etc. or if I want to try to keep my personal stuff in our main bag/backpack. I just wonder if I'm going to be annoyed at not having certain things at my fingertips, especially my phone, if DH is carrying our backpack and I'm not really a pocket person (because my mom uniform, ahem yoga pants don't all have pockets). So that's question one: small purse for my essentials or just one shared bag?

And then as far as backpack we have three choices: 1. a largish sized regular backpack with plenty of space and big padded straps. DH would probably enjoy carrying this one the most but it feels a bit bulky to me so I'll probably let him do most of the carrying if we choose this one. 2. I also have a smaller backpack that only has the one diagonal strap and the bag sits at an angle across your back if that makes sense? It's smaller and probably more comfortable for me, although space will be tight. 3. We have a similarly sized small pbk backpack that was one of my boys but he doesn't use it and it's in great shape. The negative is that the interior space is pretty small so space will be tight, and the straps are also more kid sized, which I can adjust to fit me ok but I don't think it's a great fit for DH. The reason I like this bag and it's an option is that it has two exterior cup holders and it's so nice to have a water bottle for each kid right there at all times.

So what are y'all bringing? Should I bring a small purse or no? Which backpack?

I used a small Vera cross body last year, but it rubbed and pilled my clothes :/ in addition to our Skip Hop bag that hooked to the stroller. We just left that on the stroller and I kept my phone, lip balm, etc in my cross body. So I think we are doing the same again.

We go get 2 backpacks and a stroller - one backpack had my big camera and a change of clothes for both kids in it. That one we carried with us at all times. The other backpack had snacks and trinkets in it to keep the kids busy. That one stayed with the stroller when we were on rides.

I wore shorts with pockets so I carried my Chapstick and phone...however I just discovered LuLaRoe leggings and I live in yoga capris so maybe I'll need a fanny pack

Yoga capris are what I wore most in Disney!

DH and I just had this conversation. He's insistent he'll carry our standard "Disney backpack" from previous trips, which is just a large red backpack. It's just the two of us, so we don't need something that big, but it's fairly light she it's empty. He wants to have a water bottle, rain jacket, umbrella, and maybe even rain pants.

I ended up just ordering a Vera Bradley mini hipster in the new Plums Up Disney print (which has similar colors to my company's new logo, which makes it even better!). I plan on carrying my drivers license, Disney card, Disney Rewards card, sunglasses, a few band aids and antibiotic ointment, lipstick/balm, aloe lotion in mini tub, breath mints, cell phone, lens cleaner cloth for glasses and phone, small amount of ibuprofen and sudafed.

We'll probably also have an external battery pack for our phones, since we'll probably be burning battery power checking ride wait times all the time.

Yoga capris are the best!
Ok so it's sounding like the big red backpack for DH to carry and maybe something for me too.

@TiggerManiac I was just admiring that Vera Bradley hipster in that exact print!!

Oh yes external Chargers are a must!

Especially now that my son and I will be playing Pokemon go on top of checking for more FP and such!

That's the bag I bought! The mini hipster in Plum's Up! I figure I'll carry a few smaller things in my small bag that I can keep on me easily, similar to what you're doing. I like having a little bag that sticks with me even if I have a larger bag. Lip balm, ID, etc. Lens cleaner is a great idea!

As for a larger bag, my original plan was a Vera Bradley backpack but I wore it at an amusement park this summer for a test run and it was soooooo hotttttt. Plus now that we have a stroller I suppose I can bring a tote. Or buy one...I'm eyeing the Vera Mickey Showers tote for a souvenir. I don’t even know what I need now that we're not hauling diapers. Ponchos, I suppose. We can leave those and extra pants for the younger 2 in the stroller along with sunscreen, baby wipes (just because they're handy)...what else? We can get a belt clip for my 5-year-old's EpiPen. Wow, maybe we'll be traveling very light this year.

Have we discussed battery packs yet? I need to get one, which one do you guys have?

Soooooo jealous you're not hauling diapers. My 2.5yo was doing awesome and then lost interest in potty training. Ugh.

We usually pack wipes, snacks, ponchos, autograph books, sharpies, and water in our stroller bag. Maybe some bubbles and glow sticks. Need to remember my hook for the mugs since we usually grab coffee on the way to the park. We got away without an extra battery pack. Between our 3 phones we should be good.

I feel your pain. When we went in 2013 my youngest was about 2-1/2 and still in diapers. I do NOT miss toddler poop. The way my kids were spaced I had at least one kid in diapers for like 9 years straight.

Oh right, autograph book/sharpies! And glow sticks and snacks, yes, great call.

Did you see the mugs are handle less now? I'm sad we can't hook it to the backpack like last yeAr now. Blah!

My son will pee on the potty all day long. Wakes up dry, keep his undies Dry undies allll day. But will NOT poop anywhere but a diaper. I tried hiding the diapers and he held his poop for 2 days and I had to use a suppository to get him back on track. Never again!

we have several Anker brand batteries - all have 2 ports and will recharge our phones 3-4x on a single charge. Love them! from Amazon.

I bought a cheap backpack from target on clearance because it was bright and lightweight. Didn't realize it didn't have 2 zippers on the big part - what a pain. I ended up switching to my kid's chewbacca carry on backpack on day 3 haha.
