Disney Wonder - Galveston to San Jaun - January 20, 2017

Happy Tuesday Everyone!!! Sorry I missed Monday :headache:, time flew by yesterday, and before I knew it, I had run out of time :hourglass in my day. :guilty:
So this week, I guess I am posting a Tuesday Forget Me Not!!!!!
This week, is a reminder for your pre-cruise shopping list. Why am I reminding you about shopping so early you ask. Well, because some seasonal items may soon become very difficult to find. The main item I want to remind you not to forget is your snorkel gear (especially if you are planning a beach trip at any of our ports). Our family has fallen victim to the "Oh we can wait on that" thought process when it has come to getting snorkel gear before a winter cruise before. And when we went shopping for it in late Nov. early Dec., we could not find anything. Which we found surprising beings that we live in a water tourist town. As a result, we had to hunt the items down online, and pay premium for them.
Now is your best time to find snorkel gear (and other summery items such as swim suits, sun screen, and the like). Stores will be having end of season sales over the next couple of weeks, and you can probably get a pretty good deal on what is left over from the summer. Oh, and if summery clothes are on your need to buy list for the kiddos, think about buying a size bigger. I know that may be an unneeded point, but even the most OCVPDed (Obsessive Compulsive Vacation Planning Disorder) among us (fingers pointing at me ) need reminding occasionally.
Just a side note, kids really don't like showing up to dinner in a tux that allows for a great view of the socks. And they aren't to comfortable in last years (size) swim wear either!!

Today was August planning party day!
party:

Can anyone guess the theme?

Say SCREAM!

This month was 'Plan Our Outfits' month. So, since we would be spending some time in our closets, we thought what Disney theme works with clothes or closets? MONSTERS INC!
:offtopic:Funny story, our oldest still has to make sure his closet is completely closed before turning off the lights at night.:sulley:

Anywho, the matching outfits (yes, we do the matching shirt thing, even with our 16 year old ) are all assigned a day, and pictures of each person, in each outfit are saved on the phone. The pictures will come in handy at our October party (mustard drill ) and our November party (let's pack ). Not to mention on board when the inevitable question, 'What am I wearing today? ' comes up!

We just booked this cruise! Very excited! Still working on reading all the old threads. Is there a FB page yet? Is there any room in an FE group? Thanks!

Welcome to the group asperle!
:welcome::welcome::welcome:

There definitely is room in the FE group. I will add you to the FE list and the roll call. You will need to get your posts up to 10 for me to be able to send you the PM with all the information needed for the FE spreadsheet. You are only 5 away, so that should not be to hard!
As for your other question. I am sorry, but that is a no-no subject on the DIS boards :ssst:. So we aren't aloud to answer that even if we did know.

I see you liked the Harbor House post. Are you planning on staying there? If so, we have a pre-cruise meet for everyone staying the night before.

Has anyone taken this cruise in January before? Wondering about the weather. In February we took the Magic on a Bahamas cruise and it was a little chilly.

What shuttle company are people using to get from the airport to Harbour House?

What has been everyone favorite FE gift?
First, YEAH!!! you made it to 10!!! I will send out a PM shortly.
Second, I have had 2 that I still use today.
One - an Eos lip balm. It was red, and they glued black fuzz ball ears on it so it would look like a Mickey.
Two - A little canister tin w/ a magnet on the bottom. It was painted in Mickey colors, and filled w/candy. I keep it on our vent hood in the kitchen for small storage now.

We haven't taken this cruise before, but my husband checked out the weather last January so we were prepared (well, more me, because I get cold when it drops below 80).
Cozumel - 63 - 70
Grand Caymans - 75 - 80
Jamaica - 74 - 83
San Juan - 74 - 83

We booked through Galveston Express (Here is their website).
So, are y'all staying at the Harbor House? Do you want to be added to the Harbor House meet?

So funny enough,we did the Wonder out of Galveston in January a couple years ago and we swore we would NEVER do it again! The weather was unpleasant from the moment we got to Galveston, throughout the cruise, we were fogged in and couldn't disembark- which could have been great but it was handled poorly by DCL.
Now, a few more cruises and a few years later were back. I think it's like child birth :)

So we're all paid up on the cruise, and I just booked Harbor House. I'm not posting lots, recently blessed with a medical issue, but I'm here still! Hubby Mike wants to know if there are any other Jui Jitsu guys on the boat :)

In Texas we have a saying, "if you don't like the weather, stick around a bit and it'll change ". We had snow one day in January a few years back, and the next day it was 75 degrees, sunny and beautiful. I am going to get in trouble for saying that. I am always telling everyone how great Texas is, and I get blamed for the influx of ouslanders migrating in drones down here.
I'm glad you're giving us another chance though.
I am sorry to hear that you're not doing well. I have been doing a bit of recovery myself. I hope it isn't anything to serious. I will be praying for you.
Are y'all wanting to be added to the Harbor House Meet?

My boys started training years ago before my health side tracked everyones plans. What level is Mike?
