Disney Gift Card Deals

Anyone know if Gamestop -> ebay is working anywhere from Texas - La - Ala - Ga - Fl? About to take a two-week college-tour road trip, starting in Austin, TX and ending up in Gainesville, FL. I have $400 in Gamestop gift cards and my local stores have updated their system to not allow any gift cards to be purchased with gift cards. Wondering if we might be driving through a city/town that still allows this.

Thanks!

Thanks to everyone for clarifying my Southwest question yesterday.

Today's question is in regards to booking travel through Sam's club? Has anyone done this and used Walmart/Sam's Club GC's? It seems to be a decent way to cash out, if you can get funds into those GC's.
good question.....

Not sure if anyone was using them, but I got an email yesterday from Giftcardrescue.com that they have gone out of business. Not sure how big they were, but it doesn't give me warm fuzzies for the gift card resellers as a whole.

I was able to turn a $25 gamestop card into a $25 ebay card yesterday, and my store had received no notice that anything was going to change any time soon. I'm still not planning on getting anymore gamestop, myself (although I did run $7500 through since 3/30, netting me $150 in GS rewards); just happened to have gotten a $25 card from swagbucks on 7/4 that took them til 7/19 to get to me.

We have a short trip to Disney in September. I had planned to use my 2% cash back card at Sam's Club for around 7% off on gift cards, but after seeing this board I realize there might be better opportunities out there. Would someone be willing to give me a quick rundown? You can message me? The extra3 code at Raise says it is expired.

I think the problem with Gift Card Rescue is that it was such a small company in comparison to Raise and Cardpool and they just couldn't keep up. I used them quite frequently about 5-9 months ago buying Target gift cards typically at 10% off with their coupons they offered every day (more when the other sites were higher) and buying Home Depot gift cards for our home remodel.

I've noticed in the last 3-5 months or so their inventory has declined and coupons were scarce. I could tell it was going downhill - too much competition IMO.

I don't think anyone would be willing to give you a quick run down. Best I can say is read the last 100 or so pages.

Churning is risky and no one wants to give you advice that may cause you to lose your vacation funds. Everything right now is YMMV. Read back through, decide what your risk tolerance is, and proceed with caution.

Personally, I am currently churning Ebay>Walgreens and back again. But, ebucks earnings have recently become limited again which caps off earnings.

I am not sure if it affected the whole state or certain districts, but it seems slowly they are rolling out eveywhere. GA doesn't allow it anymore.

By the way my store didn't get any notice or anything. I just tried it one day and t stopped working.

Forgive my rookie question, please.

It's been awhile since I ordered directly from Target via their website. What's the current status on which portals give credit for gift card (Disney) purchases there? I know Perk will give 0.5% on any Target. com transaction and Ebates no longer credits any GC transaction. Swagbucks and I aren't exactly simpatico at the moment, so... MyPoints?? Does going through MyPoints require a 'filler' cart item?

I ordered a gift card and index cards going through mypoints and got points on the whole order this week. I also got ebates on my entire last order (including gift cards) a few weeks ago but I think that was a fluke. Target stopped paying ebates on everything right after that for about a week.

I think Houston area stores are still allowing. Maybe Austin would be as well since so close.

Thank you for your reply. I'm doing my research.

Sadly reporting the GS flip is done in the Southeastern MI area. Went to get a $25 Ebay card and the system wouldn't allow it. The cashier knows me and had done it several times in the past was perplexed. He called his manager and that's how he found out about the policy change. It's funny, because I knew the whole time what the issue was but let him call anyway just to hear the official word. I know this isn't news to many on here but to those of you in areas where it still works, get out fast. The door is slamming shut very quickly.

I'm just so thankful that this didn't happen last week when I got my Cardency orders from the promo. This was only a $25 card from E-Rewards and I'll find a use for it.

ETA: I did ask about whether a plastic gift card would've worked (mine was an e-card) and he said no, the new policy is on all GC to GC purchases.

I definitely understand the risks. I already have the $400 in Gamestop gift cards and I purchased them knowing that there was a chance I would not be able to convert them to ebay through Gamestop. I am not too upset about this--if it turns out that I can't find a Gamestop that still will allow the transaction, I will probably sell half through Raise or similar. and save half for Christmas gifts (someone always wants a new PS game).

I have followed along the last 100 pages but generally when people report that the Gamestop transaction is or isn't working for them, they don't say where they are.

Again, it's not something that I am stressing about. But since we will be traveling past a lot of Gamestop stores, I figured it might be worth a stop if there was a decent chance that I could convert them.

Thanks! If there's a Gamestop that's convenient, I'll check it out.

What does it mean when it says the gift cards are pre-owned? I noticed that there were quite a few on ebay listed that way. But if it has been owned by some one in the past couldnt that person still have the number?

And therein lies the risk. Someone else DOES have the number. So whenever you purchase pre-owned gift cards make sure you can get your money back if the card suddenly goes empty on you.

$100 Disney gift cards are back in stock on Target .com as of 11:12am PST today. (I did not try to order one but they show as in stock.)

The EXTRA3 code worked fine for me on Raise's app this morning.

I'm super happy as I just bought the last $50 for my fall trip! Thank you everyone here, you guys have some mad $$$ saving skills!

And they had the absolute worst customer service of any company I have ever dealt with. Good riddance!

I can't comment on their customer service because in the 30 or so transactions I made with them I never once had an issue with any of my transactions or cards.
