**June 2016 check in**

I made my three reservations today!!!

We are doing Carthay Cirlcle WOC lunch on 6/16, Breakfast with Minnie on 6/17 and Jazz Kitchen for dinner on 6/17. The 17th is my nieces actual 10th birthday and she chose those two places! Carthay WOC lunch is a surprise. She has never seen WOC and neither of us have eaten at Carthay so she will be excited!

Our first day opens tomorrow but I don't think I really need a reservation that day, ill probably TRY and wait til all of my days are open before I make any

Well it looks like we are going to have to put our June trip on hold until October. Unfortunately some family health issues are going to make going in June impossible.

Ok, another post from me today...got our 7:10am Plaza Inn breakfast reservation finally, tried to make a couple others and am getting "sorry for the paws" again. Then my excitement went away when I realized that was a magic morning. *sigh*
I really wish park hours for June were released so I know if this early breakfast will be any kind of advantage (even if it's just already being up Main St. when everyone comes in and being at the front of the pack) or if we'll be wasting time during magic morning hour. On the other hand, it means we'll still have our magic morning to use on Saturday.

Through this I've learned that I am not good at this laid back approach to planning, no matter how hard I've tried to embrace it. I am missing my months out WDW planning. Of course, I'll be rethinking that when I'm up at 3am the day we leave California because I have to make ADRs for our December WDW trip.

I'm just curious, how were you able to get a 7:10am breakfast reservation at the Plaza? I ask because when I booked it, the earliest I can book it for was 8:10am. Did you call to make your reservations or did you use the online booking? I would love to get a reservation for around the 7am hour, but took what I could get, I also booked online so don't know if that made any difference.

710 ressies are only available on MM days where the park opens at 7am. The park probably doesn't open until 8 on the day you made your reservation. It's that or all the earlier ones were booked. What day of the week did you book?

Thank you for the response, that makes sense, I booked it for Friday 6/10.

Yeah, I booked online, but like pp said, it's on a magic morning. I'm kind of regretting it if it's going to count for our one usage of magic morning, and if it's going to keep us from getting a head start on touring. We've gotten kind of excited about it though, so we need to decide if we're keeping it or changing it to another day or what.

I will be there 6/7-6/11 DLH. Dragging my DS2 and DD6 cross country to meet my parents while DH goes fishing in Maine. Got res for Napa Rose chef counter to meet a friend - super excited - and appt for DD at BBB. Haven't made any other ADRs as the parents sort of want to wing it. Thought about Goofys Kitchen but the buffet for dinner looks meh, breakfast is a bit heavy for us as my dad is a diabetic and keeps really tight control with his sugars.

I get in the day before my parents and trying to decide between taking the kids to the parks vs swimming. Anyone have suggestions on what (under 40") rides would have reasonable waits between the 12-4ish time frame....yeah I'm sort of laughing at myself as I type that it looks like such a ludicrous question for efficient touring.

Soarin' Over The World opens at DCA on June 17!!

Of course, it opens on our departure day, a day we are not going to a park :sad2:. Fortunately we will be in WDW in November so we can ride it then :goodvibes. I know they won't do it, but I really wish/hope that they'd keep the same music for the new one.

We're not planning on being in the park that day either, I said, "Of course. The day we have completely planned." It's our LA day.
We're not big Soarin' fans (I know, I know! :duck:), but I'm excited to be able to see something new right away. It means we don't have to waste a FP+ on it at Epcot in December!

LOTS of news on summer openings at WDW around the web this morning! Makes me sad we're not headed to Florida this summer...I'm a brat, I don't want to wait until our December visit, LOL!!

-------------------------------------
And on an unrelated note...if anyone is planning to do whale watching in Newport Beach, we bought groupons last night for only $13 per person (normally $36 on weekends/holidays, and we're going on Father's Day)

It is nice it is official finally! It was assumed that was the day because it was the day after Shanghi opens. We go June 5-10. I am more interested/concerned with when they are going to close it for the final transformation. Those dates aren't out yet, but it is still open as of June 1. Our first day in the park is Sunday 6/5 but only the afternoon after we drive from Phoenix. So- now I am fingers crossed that isn't the last day the CA version runs. If so, it is unlikely we could get a FP for it. I know they did all the programming stuff already- but I gotta imagine they will have to close it for a short period before the 17th to test it and make slight changes to the queue.

:thumbsup2:thumbsup2:thumbsup2

I am a brat too, however I am more excited about our DLR trip then our November WDW trip...right now :goodvibes.

I wonder if the new Soarin will have a soft opening or if they will wait until Shanghai shows the new version first? Our first day in the park is 6/19 ....wonder what the FP situation will be like????

I think they have to wait for Shanghi- so maybe on the 16th... but probably not before that.

So I was looking over our itinerary and noticed that I had planned out every one of our days to where it didn't coincide with the EMH days for each of the parks (we are staying onsite). Hence @xlsm, I understand now how you got your 7:10am Plaza Inn breakfast (DOH :headache:), before I was so bummed that the earliest I could get that reservation was at 8:10am, I couldn't figure it out because it looks like our trips are about 4 days apart from each other, I didn't think the times would change that much :rotfl:. So I got into a frenzy/scared mode because I had to change around most of our days so that we were going to the parks that have EMH. Now, for our Plaza Inn breakfast, I was able to get a 7:10am reservation. I am so happy that I figured that out now and not much later when all of the good dining reservations are all gone. I also was able to change our PTN Dining package for Blue Bayou to a date where my DMIL will be able to join us and not have to deal with a grad night party too (bad experience at BB on our last trip with the grad night crowds, but that will be saved for another time, note that the restaurant was awesome...just not the grads).

I do have to point out that I am soooo not used to how easy it is to switch the reservations for DLR compared to WDW. What I mean is, for the early reservations at character meals would of been snatched up fast whereas the DLR reservations, there were still a lot of times left for during the 7am hour. Also, the BB PTN I was able to switch it but because I went to a table of 5 from a table of 4. we would of been eating at the restaurant at 8pm PCT (way too late for this Central time zone family), but luckily when I called back to have it switched to another date, I was able to get a much better time for all of us.

I'm glad it worked out for you!! I totally get what you mean about switching times - at WDW it's like this crazy game of cat and mouse, I swear I get a high from it, LOL!!
I do enjoy the ease of maneuvering things so far at DLR! I've always been lucky at WDW, but I know that's not the case for everyone!

I'm still terrified that we're royally screwing up our plans in terms of crowds, but we've decided to just go with the flow. I'm not a go with the flow person, but I'm giving it a shot! That's what I get for planning a vacation when I'm so busy with other things!!
