Fantasy, Feb. 27, 2016

There is a second FE group started with 5 parties so far. If you want to join us send me cabin#, names and ages of the people in your party and I will add you to the list. Cut off date is Feb 12.

Yay! I'm definitely in! Do you need adult names too? My kids are Lola (5 years) and David (3 years). I will send you our cabin number when I get home tonight. Do you send out a final list at the end so we know who to buy for? When do we distribute gifts? How much do people usually spend on the gifts? Lots of questions... I'm a newbie...

Hi Cordy Rendall, Yes we need adult names as well:-) With your family we have 6 families so far. We had set a cut off of Feb 12 to hopefully get up to 10 families. On the 12th I will send out the list to our group of all participants (kids and adults) and cabin #'s. This is our first cruise as well and are also newbies:-). We missed the first FE group as it already had 10 families, so we decided to start a second as there were others that missed the first group as well. I have copied from another post some info on the FE. It outlines some gift options, as well as at the bottom, who you buy for when you deliver them etc... This forum has lots of great info and people who can answer question:-) One question that we have not seen asked is where the families are from. We are from Canada and might buy some "Canadian" gifts but if there are others in our group also from Canada they might not be that interesting for them:-) Could we include town/Country in our info?

WHAT IS THE FE ???

What’s a fish extender?
On the Disney Cruise Line, each of the staterooms has a small silver fish or seahorse to the right or left of the door. Usually, it’s used to hold invitations, receipts, and correspondence during your cruise, but those participating in a Disney cruise fish extender exchange hang a bag or special holder to the “fish” to serve as a mailbox. If you want to participate, you sign up, provide your information and stateroom number, and make little goodies for each person or each cabin.

What to give for fish extender gifts.

This is the fun part – the sky is the limit here are some of our favorite fish extender gift ideas:

  • Minnie/Mickey hair accessories
  • Little “nip” bottles of alcohol for mom and dad are NOT allowed anymore due to new liquor rules
  • Magnets to decorate our stateroom door
  • Bubbles
  • Glow sticks for Pirate Night
  • Calendars
  • Pirate eye patches
  • Games
  • Nail accessories
  • Beach items
  • Flashlight
  • Water bottles
  • something from the country you are from
PLEASE INCLUDE ALL FAMILY MEMBERS IN YOUR GIFTS, YOU CAN GO TO MANY WEBSITES FOR IDEAS. YOU CAN DELIVER ONE GIFT PER FAMILY FOR THE WHOLE TRIP OR YOU CAN DELIVER SMALL THINGS EACH DAY- UP TO YOU ! BE CREATIVE AS YOU LIKE - ITS FUN TO COME BACK TO YOUR ROOM AND HAVE A GIFT. DONT FORGET TO GET A DRY ERASE BOARD FOR YOUR DOOR SO PEOPLE CAN LEAVE YOU NOTES !!! PLEASE ENSURE THE NAMES AND AGES ARE RIGHT FOR YOUR FAMILIES TO MAKE IT EASY FOR PEOPLE TO DELIVER TO YOU

Cabin # not yet assigned
(1st room)
DH=Mark
DW=Shannon
DD=Paige (23 yrs old)
(2nd room)

Hi Mdmom55, do you have cabin #'s yet? just composing the list as it stands now:-) If not it is OK.

Is anyone interested in doing a cabin tour?
This way we get to meet our fellow cruisers and see what different category cabins look like for future bookings on the Fantasy or the Dream ships.
Anyone can sign up as a host of their own cabin, a tourist or both.
We'll be travelling as a group to as many different type cabins as we can get signed up.
Please let me know if you are interested.
You can also pm me with your cabin number so that I can start arranging the categories for the tour.
As long as we have enough volunteer hosts in a variety of cabins to make this interesting, the tour will take place on the first sea day Sunday 28th February at 2pm

Brenda

We will participate as both a room host and tourist. We have 2 connecting cabins, 5048 & 5050. They r category 4E but feature rare extended verandahs (no extra charge, I just have to know which rooms have this and specifically request them when booking).

Hi Shook family, can you please add the names of the adults in your family.Thanks:-)
Grandma-deb
Mom -gwen
Dad-keith
Gma and kids staying in the room with the fe by their door, mom and dad across the hall. We're from usa, Virginia and iowa. Love the Canadian fe gift idea!

Hello, all of you in my FE group... I think I would like to set a time for us to meet. I was thinking Day 2 but it's hard to plan a time until we see what the day looks like that day with all the activities the ship will have available to us. Would you all be ok with us putting the time and place on an erase board on our door... room 5020??? THOUGHTS?? also know you can get the DCL app now, it tracks how much time til the cruise and it will also allow you to have the ships activities at your fingertips and I believe it allows you to communicate with people on the ship.

Hi, can you send me the names of the adults and your cabin # for the list. thanks:-)

Hi all! I know this may be a lot to ask but I am working on some handmade personalized fe gifts. If possible can we have everyone confirm the correct spelling of their names & I would LOVE to know everyone's favorite Disney character, if possible, for an added personalized touch to this particular gift. Thanks so much! If u don't respond ill hope ur name is spelled correctly and u will get Mickey or Minnie as ur default.
Thank you all![/QUOTE

Do we get gifts for adults and kids? You are sending out a final list after February 12, right? Just want to make sure I buy enough gifts! Is every family assigned a specific day to deliver?

Yes you buy for adults and kids. I will send final group list on Friday. If you like I can post what we have now and if any others join, I can update it.You can either deliver all gifts for the week or each day to each family. You can pick what and when you want to do it. We are doing each day and will probably deliver in morning before breakfast...

HI you won't be able to do anything on the last day (sat) you usually have to be off the boat about 9 am or so. other than that, you can do what ever you like

So do you typically start on Saturday when you board?

There really are no rules, you can do whatever you like. Please know when you get on the boat ( which is in the afternoon) you will want to look around and there are emergency drills so you may not have time until after dinner, but again.....there are no rules :) do whatever you like
