Fantasy 12/3/16 Christmas season with the Mouse!!

My husbands sister lives in Franklin, TN. and we stayed in Cool Springs over Thanksgiving, it was very beautiful. Definitely a big difference from Eastern Washington.

professorandmom could you please add my Sister-in-law ( the second vallcopen) to the FE list. Thank you very much!

Melanie and family welcome!!! We will be traveling with a 9 year old boy (Beau), 9 year old girl (Elizabeth-my daughter), and 11 year old girl (Savana). Our kids are very social, especially my sister-in-laws son, he's always looking for a buddy to swim and hang with...just an FYI. :)
So excited to see this! :yay: We just went on our first disney cruise last month (7-night Western Caribbean on the Fantasy) & fell in love with it, so we booked this one while onboard. Halloween on the High Seas was fantastic & we can't wait to experience the Christmas cruise!:santa:

We live in Middle Tennessee....about 25 minutes from downtown Nashville. My husband & I were both born & raised here & we have no plans of ever leaving. :cloud9:

We participated in the FE group last month & we most definitely want to do it again! Here's our info:

Cabin 9620
DW - Melanie
DH - Eric
DD - Jenna (12yrs old)
DS - Ethan (10yrs old)

Thank you so much for organizing this!!:thanks:

We are new to doing the FE, so I'm still trying to figure out all the rules and want to make sure I know what I am doing there first, but the doll thing seems sweet. My daughter and niece both love their AG girls so this might be fun. It will give the girls something more to have in common besides their love of Disney if nothing else.

Also, for anyone with little girls I was wondering if we would want to do a Doll Gift Exchange. We were on the Panama Canal cruise in May and someone set it up and it was a lot of fun. It is sort of of like a FE just for the girls and their dolls. Each mom signed up for a different item to bring. Some of the gifts were matching hair bows for the girl and doll, matching jewelry, a photo album personalized with the girl and doll's name, and even doll Mickey food among others! We limited the size of the group so it would not be too overwhelming. I would be more than happy to set this up if anyone is interested. On the last cruise we even all got together with the girls and their dolls for ice cream on a Sea Day which was a lot of fun. Our daughter's American Doll goes everywhere with us and it truly feels like she is part of our family. :)

If we do set up a girl exchange I could also set up a boy one. On the last cruise they set up an exchange for the brothers in the group and they chose to make it a Star Wars/Avengers theme so they would not be left out.

Just let me know if anyone is interested. :santa:

Thanks VallCopen, I added your sister in law's cabin's info to the FE list. As for how we will do FE, we haven't set the details yet as it really is up to the group to decide what works best....at this point, we are so small that we may want to give all cabin members individual gifts but let's see if the list increases after the new year....
Simply cannot wait...

I will put you down on the Doll gift exchange. :)

Fish Extenders Sign Up!!!

Hi! We just finished our first Disney cruise and can't wait for the next. {removed by a moderator} to submit your information for Fish Extenders. The deadline to submit your information will be 10/3/2016 or 20 families, which ever comes first. I can start another group once we get 20 families. The list of families participating can be found {removed by a moderator}

missyk203, hate to say it but links to external sites aren't permitted for FE groups (http://www.disboards.com/threads/im...uise-meet-and-fish-extender-programs.3353477/) but we can connect in this thread...
So glad to add another DISer to our cruise! Can't wait...only 348 days!!!

I added missyk203 to the current roll call on page 2 of this thread...
Let's set a cut off date and number of families per FE group when our sail date is closer...

Thanks for the heads up. Its unfortunate that we can't use a tool like google apps to coordinate this. It would prevent you from doing a lot of manual work. I wonder if there is any other acceptable way to coordinate FE. I will remove the post. Thank you.

Hi there! My husband and I went on our first cruise this past November and loved it! So much so that we booked our next one while still onboard. We met a great family that told us about fish extenders and I would love to become part of this, just tell me how.
I have 2 sons, age 10 and 12 come cruise time, and a 7 year old stepdaughter. This will be her first cruise ever and I cannot wait to see her face when she sees all the characters on board! Both of my sons LOVED it and said the first one wasn't near long enough (we kept the first short, 4 nights) and agreed, not near long enough!
Looking forward to meeting some great people and exchanging some neat things for the kids.
Thanks!
Kelly

WE MADE IT onto the second page of the thread! YES!
And we are now below 400 days! YES!
Because some folks may want to purchase holiday themed FE gifts this year for use next year I thought it might be time to get a roll call going....oooo...
I'll update this list as others add...

I used your previous posts to indicate your interest in FE - you can use PM or email bchrist2 @ iupui. edu if you'd like to edit the info...let me know if I made errors...corrections happily made

In order to keep this safe and fun for all, please list all allergies or items you prefer not to receive for religious or other reasons (the reason doesn't matter, just the list the items, such as alcohol, pork, coffee, etc.)

If there is any information you would prefer not to share, please feel free to skip it. But if you want to do FE, we do need to know the cabin number and the number of children and adults). If you do not know your cabin, no worries - we can update the list closer to the cruise

On the cruise, I will print lists and markup the changes (in case people upgrade at port, etc) and have them available at our cabin on the first night of the cruise.

Hey Kelly! Welcome to our thread! I have added you to the roll call in post #22...and noted you would like to participate in FE. I think we'll decide on the framework for our FE when the cruise gets closer...there are many ways to do it...but right now our group is small enough to keep it simple. We'll need to add your cabin number.

I first took my kids on a 4 day and we had exactly the same reaction - too short...our 7-day three years later was so awesome - the kids had an idea of what to expect and everyone agrees it was a great vacation...in fact my son, now 22, visited yesterday with his new girlfriend...I was surprised when he took out the scrapbook to show her. Clearly the trip was special to him (the fact that he wore a tuxedo to dinner on formal night [and looked darn handsome] might have encouraged him to share the album too).

Enjoy your planning...I have picked up some great room decor at the Christmas clearance sales...only 337 days

Barb,
Wow, how amazing that he is still talking about it, AND that you got him to wear a tuxedo! I put my boys in khakis and they ask why they have to dress fancy! Lol
Our room number is 6614.
Would you be able to give me some ideas on gifts to bring? A general idea is great and I will take it from there.
Counting down the days

I think this thread could offer some good ideas
http://www.disboards.com/threads/favorite-gifts-received-as-fe.2637270/
We have an advantage, in my opinion, because we can use Christmas-themed gifts too
I have to say some of the best ideas come from Pinterest if you are crafty
Hope that helps
Whatever you do, don't stress over this...some people on the main forum have posted threads about cost and value and getting "junk"
I think they take the whole idea too seriously
This is just a swap of inexpensive trinkets offering little surprises for everyone...it's not a competition or high stakes event!

Hi VallCopen! I'm not sure who you are traveling with but I'm sure it will be one of your best vacations yet! We were so nervous booking our first cruise with the kids because we did not know how we would do on a boat, but that passed the minute we stepped on board. The staff is amazing and the people you meet on board are fantastic. We had to beg our kids to spend time with us. We couldn't get them out of the kids clubs! We are all already so excited!
We will see you in a little over 300 days!

Thanks! That was a great link and gave me some great ideas. I love the idea of keeping it fun and simple. What a great thing for the kids too!

Hello All! This will be our second cruise with disney during xmas, we love the christmas theme. We would love to be added to the fish extender group. We are from Norman Oklahoma, I am a Nurse Practitioner that practices in the emergency department, and my husband is a firefighter. We have two sons, ages 6, and 8 at the time of the cruise.
