OK, so I've said a couple of times that I was playing with the idea of a Pre-trip report of sorts, but figured no one would probably care all too much.
However, I have some questions that I'd prefer to ask here for the time being (or at least as a first stop) because I know how it can get on the TPAS, Resorts and restaurants boards at times, and while there's a wealth of information there, I feel like you guys know me better and I certainly respect your thoughts, input and opinions, as well as being very well versed in WDW and also, not afraid to blow off that pixie dust when needed.

I'll try to keep the first post updated with new questions and will post when there's an update to that post, and I'd love for you all to help me plan and to come along for the ride that is a second trip for an out of towner (errr, well, country... continent... hemisphere...)

ok, here are a few things to consider (will keep this updated)
  • Aussie Dollar stinks at the moment. Currently (as at the time of the original post) I am getting USD$0.6873 for every AUD, so a $1,217 week at BWV is actually more like AUD$1,771
  • The trip takes like, >24 hours from when I leave Melbourne to landing in Orlando (presuming we do Orlando first, more to come on that), with the aim to leave MEL in the morning, hopefully direct to DFW then to MCO, otherwise probably through SYD and LAX on to MCO, getting to MCO mid-late afternoon, so the first night will probably consist of dinner at the resort and a wander around, then bed for an early rise.
  • We are aiming for 7 nights WDW, 3 nights UOR and 3-5 nights somewhere else, hoping to line that up with a WWE event (if we go in Sept, that will be Night of Champions which is late Sept, if Oct, that's Hell in a Cell)
    • WDW will definitely come before UOR because we did it the other way around last time, and the thrill aspect kinda ruined the WDW attractions a bit for us, even though Leigh is petrified of heights.
    • Wrestling location is flexible depending on date and location. If its West coast, we will do that first I think, it makes for an easier entry as we generally have to come through LAX.
  • We wont be getting a rental, and probably wont be leaving WDW (sorry JL and Tess, I love the trip and all the places you go! Unfortunately, we just don't have enough time I don't think). We may consider a Garden grocer, or other, for water bottles and maybe some snackage, but as a couple with no kids, we don't mind too much about buying those in park, it doesn't add up as quickly for 2 adults.

Right, here are the loose plans at this stage.

Dates of stay:
This is still quite unknown as at 04.01.16 (using Aussie date format peeps - DD/MM/YY) but Leigh has said we absolutely cannot go late October (my 30th birthday is 23rd October!) due to him being the captain and coach of his cricket team, and cricket season starts at the beginning of October.
If money was no object, we'd plan the start or end of the trip to be around this time and I'd go ahead (or stay longer) and try to do the DIS exclusive Backstage magic trip... yeah... not going to happen. Alternatively, I'd like to spend my 30th in the World if possible.

That being said, we will most likely leave around Sept 15th (day after Leigh's birthday) depending on the wrestling.

EDIT 09.03.16
OK, so, dates are set!
Leave MEL Aug 18 arrive NYC Aug 18 (gain a day)
Leave NYC Aug 23 11:40am, Arrive Orlando Aug 23 2:40pm
Leave Orlando Sept 2 7pm, arrive LAX that night, arrive MEL Sept 4 (lose a day coming back)

WDW Resort:
I am apparently in a minority here, but I LOVED YC!
Maybe because it was my first visit, but I loved he décor, the location, all of it, and we were in the farthest wing that faces the water, right near the guest laundry room but up a level.

It seems to be cheaper to rent points for 7 nights than to stay Moderate, but, that's assuming I pay rack rate, which for a Sept trip isn't exactly likely.
I wouldn't take a free dining offer, but would take a room only discount. This is what we did last time, when I was tossing up between CSR and the Swolphin, but with the 30% off (from memory) on Deluxe resorts, I could get YC for the same amount if not less, than Swolphin.
This time, due to the $, I'm looking to be thrifty, but also to stay I in a nice place, and by nice, I mean, good location.
Mods worry me due to the vast resort area and the busses. I loved being in the EPCOT area, even though we only went there twice in 6 days... for not long either time.
I think the MK area resorts are out based on $ vs renting points at an EPCOT resort.

I'm under the impression that both BWV and BCV will be refurbed by our trip, and while a standard room at BWV is cheaper than BCV, I think I'd like another run at SAB because again, we didn't utilize it last time (stop the flames!!!! :duck:)

THOUGHTS?
EDIT 09.03.16

Ok, NYC accom not finalised. trying to see if we can afford a WWE SummerSlam package, otherwise, staying midtown between 3rd and Lex in a suite.
Staying in a standard royal room at POR for first 2 nights (booked as a package with Dreams and 8 day PH+WP tickets)
Moving to BLT for 5 nights in a lake view studio
Staying at RPR in a King std room, but have a Loews youfirst account, so should get an upgrade for this being our second trip and we will be blue members (per their website)

UOR Resort:
No question, it's RPR hands down. We couldn't NOT have Unlimited Express, just, no.

Other:
  • MNSSHP is a must. Definitely want to do this, if for nothing else, trick or treating (we don't do that here) and shorter wait times (typically) Not going during this time now, so irrelevant
  • We love the water parks, so will most likely do those on the afternoons of AK and DHS Still true, but will head to AK one night for RoL
  • Mini-Golf. if we don't get onto the fairways at Fantasia gardens, Leigh may divorce me. Still true and definitely happening. we love mini golf.
  • Leigh will play 18 holes at one of the Golf courses, he did Magnolia last time. SUGGESTIONS FOR WHICH OTHER COURSE TO PLAY Leigh says this isn't happening this time as it was like $300 but I will urge him to still do it, they're such beautiful courses and he works on one
  • Last time when Leigh played golf, I did the KTTK tour, I probably wont waste half a day doing another tour, I don't think any of them appeal to me. I do love to ride horses, but I think the trail ride might be a bit tame for me, but I'm open to investigating it. HAS ANYONE DONE THIS? based on your lovely feedback, I think the horses will be too tame for me, so will give this a miss. if leigh plays golf, I may have some alone time in the park (MK)
  • We love steak! Was thinking of maybe trying to hit up Bull and Bear based on John and Kevin's many mentions of it in the past, but I think Leigh will want to hit up Yachtsman again. If Steve is in town that week (or anyone else who is in town and wants to meet up), this might be an option for a catch up if not on WDW property. THOUGHTS? still unsure about a steak house... we did love the Yachtsman, and im pretty sure we had the fabled Neil Patrick Harris table... so would be cool to eat there again.

Ok, I have to get back to work.
I look forward to discussing with you all and any suggestions or feedback, please post!

EDIT 09.03.16

Ok, so NYC is based around WWE SummerSlam.
will be spending a day in Brooklyn (just saw a place on FB that sells multi-coloured bagels! I NEED to eat a purple bagel)
Will be seeing Aladdin with some friends (I hope) and was thinking of going to Carmine's for dinner beforehand. We went last time but as its served family style, I feel this is a better experience when shared?

I've currently got ADR's for Chef Mickey Breakfast (brekkie here in Aus) Tuskerhouse (late breakfast for the transition into lunch) Brown Derby on arrival day for dinner, will be seeing Fantasmic! (how do I make an ADR a dinner package? should I ask my Dreams agent for help?) and BOG lunch.

Planning a MK day for the day we switch resorts, get Disney to move our bags and take an afternoon break to check in to BLT and maybe hit up Trader Sams.

I don't have park days set with the exception of my arrival day and a MK day and an AK day (based on ADR's) but that will come.

Purple MBs ordered, will order MB Skins from Magicyourband (DIS Unplugged ones)

Still yet to get the courage to ask JL for a date. @disneysteve tells me im crazy... I just don't want to bother her or make her feel obligated.
And Ryno said I could buy him a drink, I'd be so thrilled if I got to meet any of the team, and to hang out with Ryno (and Craig!) for long enough to buy them a drink.. I think I'd die!

QUESTION:
Can anyone help me with prepaid phone/sim questions?
I have a handset, I just want a sim that has some calls and an ok amount of data to get us through while in NYC (to co-ordinate with said friends) and also for when Wifi isn't free or is spotty.
is it as simple as hitting up a 7/11 type place (do y'all call them bodega's?) and picking one up?
Go Phone looked like a good option, and I think I can order ahead of time, but probably not from overseas? thinking I can get it sent to the office and they can send to me here?
also, they sell recharge cards for $30, $50 etc, but the "plans" (month to month) don't line up with that.
the $45 plan looks good, unlimited calls and text in the USA and 3GB data, which would be plenty (will use the data to facetime audio my family in NYC)
is it that simple?

I think that's all for now.

thanks so much for your help so far! I'm so excited now that things are locked in!!
Pretty upset that they announced that WrestleMania 33 is in Orlando in April 2017, but I have to live with that.

It's not bad, but I don't find it better value than a moderate.

This time, due to the $, I'm looking to be thrifty, but also to stay I in a nice place, and by nice, I mean, good location.

For transportation, por/pofq I find to fit my tolerance of time to get anywhere if your looking to be thifty and take a chance with a mod. It can be a little longer than you might want to MK but epcot, hollywood and springs aren't a long trip and the boat ride to springs is a nice change. I favor POFQ just because it's tiny and the way we use the resort and it's food options as well as a quick walk to/from the small right next to the place bus stop. CBR I stayed at a couple months ago and the bus was miserable, both in location to get it after finishing at a park and how long it takes to get anywhere. It's easily double the time to everything because of their size. I never stayed at cor but after CBR, I think that's off the list for me.

I haven't been in a deluxe this century except to dine/explore so i'll defer the other options to others. I love how wilderness lodge has their fall/winter decor so I personally would lean towards finding a way to make that work if I was doing this trip. How much food and wine/epcot do you plan to do?

MNSSHP is a must. Definitely want to do this, if for nothing else, trick or treating (we don't do that here) and shorter wait times (typically)

I didn't attend this year but in 2014, the park was less crowded when it wasn't the party. I loved it for the villians, halloween lighting and street performers dressed up and halloween colored fireworks. I wouldn't miss it :)

Never stayed, but I think the location can't be beat. We've talked about doing one of the EPCOT resorts, and have decided that the YC would be our most likely choice. We're not into the beach theme, and YC has the better pool (in our opinion) when compared to the BW.

That being said, our favorite resort hands down is Port Orleans Riverside, Magnolia Bend Section. The distance to the parks isn't so bad and if you stay in the Magnolia Bend section, you can catch the south bus and avoid all the crowds at the front of the resorts. Plus Downtown Dis....er, uh Disney Springs is a short very cool boat ride away. We've done all of the mods, and have decided that the Port Orleans Riverside is going to be our preferred resort. The grounds are great, and although we like POFQ we just feel very at home at Riverside.

  • MNSSHP is a must. Definitely want to do this, if for nothing else, trick or treating (we don't do that here) and shorter wait times (typically)

We had a great time this year, despite the fact that I was pretty ill for most of the party and yes...we dressed up. Trick or Treating was great as always and if that's what you are going for make sure you visit the treat trail between Mickey's Circus and Tomorrowland. It's three or four treat stops in a row, and because it's out of the way it's usually pretty empty. One thing I did notice was that the party was much busier than we had remembered. This may have been due to the fact that we did the party (and our trip) a couple of weeks later than usual, I think we did MNSSHP on October 20th. I would say, if you plan on going closer to Halloween, just be prepared for it to be pretty busy.

[*]Mini-Golf. if we don't get onto the fairways at Fantasia gardens, Leigh may divorce me.

This is on our to do list for next time. Cathy and I did Fantasia Gardens (her first time) in the evening and loved it. It's such a nice change of pace.

[*]Leigh will play 18 holes at one of the Golf courses, he did Magnolia last time. SUGGESTIONS FOR WHICH OTHER COURSE TO PLAY
[*]Last time when Leigh played golf, I did the KTTK tour, I probably wont waste half a day doing another tour, I don't think any of them appeal to me. I do love to ride horses, but I think the trail ride might be a bit tame for me, but I'm open to investigating it. HAS ANYONE DONE THIS?

It's only a 9 hole walking course, but Oak Trail near Fort Wilderness is a great course if you don't feel like doing the whole deal with the cart and the 18 holes. It's a little more low key than Magnolia, and it's close to my other favorite resort, Fort Wilderness.

Speaking of...
If you have any kind of experience riding horses, I wouldn't bother with the horse back riding there. I've had some trail riding experience, and when I saw that they make you wear a helmet I was out. I was just listening to a DIS Unplugged podcast and they mentioned that the horses seem to just know where they were supposed to go.

THOUGHTS?

  • Get FP+ for 7 Dwarfs Mine Train. It's a fun coaster, but it isn't worth a 3 hour wait.
  • See the Festival of Fantasy Parade, it's very well done and as silly as it sounds, get the FP for it. The viewing area is in Town Square and they limit the number of people in the viewing area. We went on a packed day at MK and that FP saved our day.
  • If you go in Sept/October make sure you save a little time to go to EPCOT for Food/Wine Festival.
  • If you want a unique experience that has nothing to do with the parks, go to Fort Wilderness and visit the campfire, make smores and do the campfire sing along.
  • If you have time, paddle a canoe at Fort Wilderness.
  • Hogwarts Express at Universal/Islands is amazing. Do that early because the lines can get up to 2 hours+ later in the day.
  • Get the refillable mug at Universal. 10.99 and you get free refills all from the Coke Freestyle machines.

Just hearing about your pre-tip planning is making me a little jealous. We probably aren't going back till 2017 for Avatar, Rivers of Light and *SIGH* Frozen Norway.

You need a chill day. Maybe 2. A day to decompress from that obscenely long travel time. Whether that means hanging out at the hotel being lazy or shopping. Just not a day in the parks.

Chances are, that day will be the party day. With only 7 days and no prospect of a return visit any time before the change of the decade, I'll relax when I get home! Lol

First, Fantasia Gardens does not compare to any other mini golf corse. It's the only corse I have ever played with real grass and no boards to bump off of. It is the closest to real golf you will ever get, and an easy walk from the pool bar at the Dolphin.

Second, this is a huge trip for you. You are probably coming from as far in the world as possible. Money should be equated to time, so being able to NOT have to take a bus everywhere should count for something. YC, BC, BW all are in walking distance to Epcot and HS, or there is the boat launch (and the Friendships are fun). We even go to MK by walking through Epcot and taking the monorail just to avoid the busses. My wife and I are struggling with the money thing too, but we decided it's worth it to be so close to our favorite parks.

Finally, you are going to crash at some point. Don't force yourself through it. Two days at Universal and five days at WDW with a break at a resort is tough after a long flight. Take time to enjoy the resorts, Hit Trader Sam's or the pool, don't lose your mind. On our trips either my wife or me ends up getting pissy from lack of sleep or food, and we both have a crappy day. Try to enjoy the whole experience, we find the planning part to be half the fun, a week at the parks is nothing compared to the six month build up and planning stages.

On a side note, WDW and WWE? If I we were both single and on the same continent...

Holy crap, I had no idea that was the exchange rate from Aus! :o I felt sorry for myself with being in the UK and flights being so expensive. but at least the pound is stronger than the dollar to make up for it a little!

As for your post, I love Beach Club so you're not the only one there ;) Is the WWE trip a must? I love WWE but I think I would rather have extra nights in WDW and that part of the trip could wind up adding a significantly large amount onto your holiday if it isn't local (isn't NXT based in Orlando though? could be wrong there). Renting points is something that's very worth while for your resort, it makes it a lot cheaper but I'm not sure it's something I could feel comfortable about doing from so far away. Renting points can backfire and result in not having a resort reservation and being international it's not like you can turn around and go home but this is down to personal choice of course.

First, exchange rates just kinda stink - The fact that the US economy is improving (at least compared to others) shouldn't mean your trip costs you more.

On to the actual plans. You didn't mention, but is F&WF something you guys would look to do a lot? If so, then definitely think one of the EPCOT resorts makes the most sense as you can just walk there and back. As for which one, I agree with you about stormalong bay ... BUT if you are planning on doing the water parks anyway, is it worth the extra cost vs Boardwalk?

If you do go moderate, we really like Port Orleans French Quarter - and it is definitely the smallest of the moderates

As for steak places, you could also look into Shulas at the Dolphin

As for WWE, couldn't find exact details for the Sept or October events so hard to plan for. I've said my peace for wanting to see NXT instead - I've enjoyed that much more than the main roster in 2016 with several of my top matches from 2016 coming from them ... plus they are right there in Orlando. (though do get the desire to go to a full fledged PPV)

For your time when Leigh golfs - do you enjoy Solo times at the park? Might be a good time to just explore one of the parks and do the things that maybe you like more than Leigh. Or you could look to book a massage or something at Grand Floridian or one of the other spas

Also, just keep in mind the new things that are coming in 2016, especially at AK with the new night time show and night time safari - so might not be a morning only park

Good luck!

Here's another vote for POFQ - it's actually one of my favorite places to stay on property. Any building you get into is an easy walk to the main area, and boat to Disney Springs (at basically "opposite ends" of the resort, but you're close to both), heavily and beautifully themed, great scenic boat ride to Disney Springs, awesomely themed food court. Oh - and one word - beignets!! :) Only thing it's missing is a sit-down restaurant. Not within walking distance of any parks, but a nice resort for less money, if that figures into your equation. I would stay there in a heartbeat, with absolutely no hesitation.

Besides that though, I second MaxRebo's thoughts on an Epcot resort for F&W, if that's something you're likely to be interested in. You also can't beat any of the resorts in that area for walking distance to Epcot and HS. I've not stayed at YC, but have stayed at BC, Swan, and Boardwalk. BC was okay, and of course was nice for being the closest walking to Epcot (not a swimmer anymore, so did not avail myself of Stormalong Bay to swim, but enjoyed 'hanging out" there), Swan I found really nice and had an amazing view from a corner room, and was actually glad it wasn't "Disney in your face all the time" but more "elegant and quiet" - I had just come from a 7-night stay at ASM at that point so was tired of "Disney in your face" - sorry - have to be honest!), and BW (stayed in the Villas section) just was not my cup of tea. I loved the nighttime entertainment on the Boardwalk, but did NOT appreciate all the 20-something hipsters "getting their party on" that seemed to swarm that place at night - totally wrecked my "get your chill on" vibe after being around crowds and noise all day - just wanted to relax.

Free dining will most likely be offered during that time, you might want to think if that would save more money than a room discount or points. Then again, a deluxe without a room discount of any kind would hurt a lot, so probably only something you want to consider if you stay at a moderate. If you do consider a moderate, I'd do one of the Port Orleans. Shortest travel time to MK from any hotel other than the monorail resorts. MK travel time sucks usually. This would also be useful for the Food and Wine, you can use snack credits and counter service credits at the booths.

Have you guys ever been to DL? If you are stopping at LAX anyway I'd go there for a day or two. That might also help you to adjust to the time change if you take it in steps and stay at DL for a few days.

I've done the trail ride. It is about as much fun as any other trail ride (I've never been on a trail ride where the horses don't sleep walk through it, except the Grand Canyon mules but that is another story). The fun part about this one is that you are on Disney property and you can pester the trail ride CMs about all sorts of interesting stories and questions about the Disney horses.

First, Fantasia Gardens does not compare to any other mini golf corse. It's the only corse I have ever played with real grass and no boards to bump off of. It is the closest to real golf you will ever get, and an easy walk from the pool bar at the Dolphin.
Yeah, we played the fantasia section last time and loved it!! but Leigh is a greenskeeper and likes golf, so he was keen to try the fairways side. i'll suck at it, but he'll have fun beating me.

Last time we landed at about 5pm on whatever day it was, I think a Wednesday, walked to citywalk (ended up walking on the road, through the bus terminal and entered along the concourse... Leigh was so impressed that we went the wrong way, after almost 30 hours of being awake...) had dinner at NBA city, had a quick walk around citywalk, then back to the resort and were at IOA by 8:15am the next day. Spent 2.5 more days there, they were probably only 3/4 days, not full days in the parks, and were at IOA for WWoHP every morning. then 6 nights at WDW where we were in the parks every day, but never for a full day. I regret that. we also didn't utilize the lower crowds at late hours, so will aim for that this time also. There wont be any full days of rest, aint nobody got time for that!
Trader Sam's is a must (also somewhere @disneysteve and I may have a catch up?)

On a side note, WDW and WWE? If I we were both single and on the same continent...
Haha, I liked WWF when I was in early high school (highschool in Aus is from 7th-12th grade), but Leigh is super into it, so I've now gotten back into it to a degree.
Our honeymoon was booked around WWE WrestleMania 30... yep, we saw the streak crumble before our very eyes. you could hear a pin drop, everyone was so confused!!

Holy crap, I had no idea that was the exchange rate from Aus! :o I felt sorry for myself with being in the UK and flights being so expensive. but at least the pound is stronger than the dollar to make up for it a little!
Yeah, it's pretty depressing...
Off topic, are you the Sean I may have commented on your post on FB yesterday (or today, im not sure of the time difference for you?) about it being 12am for me?

As for your post, I love Beach Club so you're not the only one there ;) Is the WWE trip a must? I love WWE but I think I would rather have extra nights in WDW and that part of the trip could wind up adding a significantly large amount onto your holiday if it isn't local (isn't NXT based in Orlando though? could be wrong there). Yeah, WWE is a must. A whole 2 week trip in Orlando and that's it is not an option if I want to remain married. lol.
But a night at NXT could be cool!
Yeah, I think renting points is a go, but I also have the same reservations as you. I'd be petrified if I got there and I'd been stooged. But I'd probably go through David's for added peace of mind.
The alternative is to book a Mod (CSR or POFQ) and hope that a discount comes out for the dates. We couldn't move dates because of flights and we will be booking flights in Jan or Feb because they do a USA travel expo around now and they do a heap of specials (usually with a trip to DLR thrown in, but again, Leigh would kill me)

First, exchange rates just kinda stink - The fact that the US economy is improving (at least compared to others) shouldn't mean your trip costs you more.
I actually think it has more to do with our exports and things more related to China now, at least for us Aussies, but I could be wrong.

Yeah, F&W is something we will probably do a few afternoons, so EPCOT area is high on our list, plus, when we were planning this trip with friends (who now aren't coming) Leigh's only input was "we need to stay where we stayed last time, it was in such a good spot" and that's about all he knew about WDW... and that's considering the fact that we barely went to EPCOT...

If you do go moderate, we really like Port Orleans French Quarter - and it is definitely the smallest of the moderates

As for steak places, you could also look into Shulas at the Dolphin
Yeah, I did look at POFQ after one of the 7in7's I think, and due to the size, we could consider that, but no table service on site could be annoying.
And yes! I forgot about that! thanks (favorited it on MDE so I remember!)

As for WWE, couldn't find exact details for the Sept or October events so hard to plan for. I've said my peace for wanting to see NXT instead - I've enjoyed that much more than the main roster in 2016 with several of my top matches from 2016 coming from them ... plus they are right there in Orlando. Dates aren't released yet for the full year of PPV, hopefully in the next few days if last year is anything to go by.
Like I said above, we went to WrestleMania 30, so I'm not sure that we could come all the way back and not go to a PPV and probable the following Raw, it's such a long way to come to not do it, if you know what I mean.

Good luck!
Yeah I think Solo time is probably the way i'll go, unless someone comes up with another idea.
I love massages, but im not sure I can swallow the price at a Disney resort...
Oh yeah, but we could AK in the morning, water park in the arvo, and then AK for the night stuff.
DHS is definitely not going to hold our attention for a full day in 2016 unfortunately... it didn't even do so in 2014.

Yeah, that's my thoughts on BW too Heidi, I think the noise would annoy me, but if I remember correctly, the standard villa rooms are away from the actual boardwalk.

I feel happy that we only have a 9 hour flight instead of 24 hour one
Haha, well this is roughly what it looks like:
Wake up at about 4:30am (after packing until 1am the night before... 3 hours sleep. yay)
Arrive at Airport 2-3 hours before flight, so check in at about 5:30-6am
8am flight from MEL to SYD (1 hour 25 mins)
Go through customs (doesn't take too long, maybe 40 minutes)
Flight from SYD to LAX at I think 11am, 14.5 hours.
Land LAX approx. 7:15am on the same date (however, this is actually about 1:15am MEL time for us)
Take 1.5 hours to get through TSA and customs in LAX... kill me. why the heck does it take so long?!
Go to bathroom, have 1 drink at the bar at LAX
Flight at approx. 9:30am to MCO
Approx 4.5 hour flight (it's now about 8am the following day for us, so 24 hours after leaving MEL, but about 28 hours after waking up)
Land MCO at 5pm local time
arrange Mears shuttle and wait (30 minutes)
Last resort drop off (RPR)
Check in, go to room, have a shower, walk the wrong way to CityWalk, have dinner and stroll, get back to resort fall into bed at I think 9:30pm local time (approx. 12:30pm MEL time the day after we left)
Total time from waking up on departure day to going to bed on arrival day (which is still the same calendar date) 32-33 hours...
Fun. lol.

Free dining will most likely be offered during that time, you might want to think if that would save more money than a room discount or points.
Free dining wouldn't really be something I'd try for, we would have to leave booking a room too late (april) and risk then not being able to use points.
Room only discount at a deluxe would probably benefit us more I think.

Then again, a deluxe without a room discount of any kind would hurt a lot, so probably only something you want to consider if you stay at a moderate.
Yeah, I couldn't afford a deluxe with no room discount :(

Have you guys ever been to DL? If you are stopping at LAX anyway I'd go there for a day or two. That might also help you to adjust to the time change if you take it in steps and stay at DL for a few days.
Yeah, not going to happen, as much as I want it to. Leigh just wont do more Disney than 7 nights at WDW. It's his trip too and he's not a fan like me unfortunately.
It would be one or the other and I didn't do enough at WDW not to go there. that would hurt too much, to be in the USA and not go to WDW. I have unfinished business. lol.

I used to work at a trail riding school. I loved it, but yeah, the horses are robots in that sense, so I can imagine it would be a sleepy ride for me. I went on a trail ride in Bali on the beach, which was nice, but even though I tolod them I was experienced, I got a fairly "trail ride" style horse.
But the fact that it's Disney would probably make up for that.

That's true - if you are going to make a whole "event" out of it and go to the RAW the following night, etc. I think NXT would be a fun "while we are in Orlando let's check out ..." type thing

Yeah for sure, especially if parks are closing early during Sept/Oct. Spend the day in the parks and get to the event at night.

..........I'm under the impression that both BWV and BCV will be refurbed by our trip, and while a standard room at BWV is cheaper than BCV, I think I'd like another run at SAB because again, we didn't utilize it last time (stop the flames!!!! :duck:)............
Jess, my wife and I are staying at a studio @ BWV starting on Wed 1/6........heard they've been redone already. I'll get some pics and put them up next week so you can get a preview. We're really looking forward to the Luna pool..........that clown is creepy!
