'THE TRIP' discussion.

I am also glad they did not do an episode on outlet shopping. I wouldn't mind one about going to see a MLS game when they start up again. Or some other sporting event.

How about skydiving?

Outlet shopping there is a hot mess. It is one of the most congested places in Orlando aside from Disney. The shopping aspect isn't the bad part, its just getting in and out of there and retaining your sanity.

And man...skydiving or bungee jumping would make for an awesome segment :D

On a side note, does anyone else think there is a strange sexual thing going on with Craig and JeniLynne? I know he just got married, but there seems to be something there that I can't describe.
Way off base. Both Craig and JL are involved with other people (Craig just got married last week). Nothing to see here...

We used to enjoy going to Belz every trip to hit the then only Disney outlet store. Now, though, I'd have to agree with Hunterr. On one trip not too long ago we tried to go to Premium outlets. It was during the day mid-week when you would think everyone would be in the parks. No way. It was beyond packed. There were cars parked on the grass, on the curbs, double parked illegally nearly blocking traffic. We drove around for several minutes looking for a space and finally gave up and left. There was nothing there that was worth that much aggravation. I don't think we've been back since.

I absolutely agree with you, however, there are people out there that being involved with someone might not stop them from involving themselves with another (not that JL or Craig would!! Just sayin)

I'm curious: would getting an Uber or taxi from a universal resort (they're closer to the outlets than Disney is right?) be a good work around?
We don't hire a car so cabs and uber are our only form of transportation outside of the Disney bubble.
And I figure that if you get a cab, there's no parking issue?

There are a couple of outlet centers. One is very close to Disney, practically across the street at I-4 and 535. The other main one is north at the end of I-Drive. That's closer to Universal.

I have no idea how much it would cost to take a taxi/Uber but unless you plan to do some major shopping, it probably wouldn't be worth it. For you, Jes, it just might be worth it if you can load up on stuff that you're not able to get, or would be much more expensive, at home. For us, though, we have an identical outlet center less than 30 minutes from our house so it just isn't that big a deal.

We like going to the Disney outlet store, but it isn't nearly as good as it used to be years ago. Most trips we go there and buy nothing.

I am also glad they did not do an episode on outlet shopping.

I agree that a single episode dedicated to one mall would be boring but I would not mind an overview of the shopping options in the area. Where they are, what they offer (stores/price range), what's unique, what's the crowd and most crowded. I mean things like the outlets Florida Mall, and Millenium are pretty visiable but what about places like Artegon. Could be a little too facty for The Trip but visiting families might want to know.

Back on the subject of the Trip, I'm loving the restaurant reviews but have really enjoyed the trips they have taken to other attractions. The botanical garden really was interesting to me and would love to see more like that. Places just a tad outside of Orlando that might be nice for a day trip. And I love the outtakes at the end of each broadcast. I really look forward to those.

what about places like Artegon.
We went to Artegon last week to check it out. There are a bunch of unique shops with art galleries and crafts but overall the place was pretty sad. It was nearly deserted and we were there on Saturday night while there was a food truck competition going on in the parking lot (which was well attended) and the place was still like a ghost town. If you're looking for truly unique stuff, it might be worth a stop. There is also a Bass Pro Shop there if you need any outdoorsy type of stuff.

Bok Tower Gardens is beautiful. We were there a couple of years ago. Very much worth the trip.

I suggested in the comments of the show before that I'd like to see The Trip do some outdoorsy stuff. My recommendation was Blue Springs State Park which is supposed to have a lot of manatees. I think that would be really interesting to hear about how they all get along in the great outdoors.

I basically started watching/listening to this for Dustin. I kept because I just love Theresa so much! I wasn't sure about adding in Craig at first, but he fits in with their personalities so well. At this point they could honestly just be talking about the weather and I'd listen and enjoy it. It's been fun to watch the podcast grow and come into it's own.

Good idea. We've done an airboat ride and have also done the zip line course at Forever Florida. I think either of those would be good show topics though I suspect Teresa would not get on a zip line.
Can we get a donation going to get Teresa on the zipline with a helmet cam. Oh man!!!!! :lmao:

I love this show. I stopped watching for like a month and then started again. I had to watch all the episodes I missed. I think Craig fits in great.

I would like them to take one of those (overpriced) boat rides at the BoatHouse @ Disney Springs.

What's great about these things is it usually attracts a crowd watching as the boat drives off into the water. It seems awkward and weird sitting there having everyone point cameras at you. Soo, obviously the segment would be perfect for the show :D

$125 for up to 3 people for 20 minute tour.

I'm a huge Teresa fan so I love The Trip. I think Teresa and JL make a great team. I really loved their interaction with Dustin - he was so sweet with them. I knew Craig would bring a different vibe with his caustic sense of humor and it has worked out very well. He is terrific.

Do you think T has seen the Belgian peoples' response to terrorism on social media? When the police asked them to please assist by not posting anything of use to terrorists, they energetically replied by posting images of Belgian cats & kitties thus confusing the bananas out of terrorists monitoring Belgian facebook, twitter, etc. The posts range from the ridiculous to the ridiculous. Good on 'em. We all do what we can with what we got. Check it on on twitter and facebook. We haz kittens is a popular hashtag.

Maybe I'm imagining it but I think they mentioned a few weeks back that they taped an airboat ride segment so I think that's in the can. I could be crazy but for some reason I do think I heard this. Re the zip line, I just don't think so :-)

I <3 the Trip! Thought it was great with Dustin but I enjoy Craig just as much if not more. I really enjoy the chemistry of the three of them. It is always a bright spot in my week.

The restaurant reviews are always right up my alley because I love trying new places and it gives us an idea of other Orlando things to do outside of WDW.

I also love the Universal Show, even though I have no interest in Harry Potter and haven't been to Universal in 15 years.
