SPOERLX3: The 60s is our go to area! After staying in the 50s and the 80's my last several stays have been in the 60s (and we always book standard too). Sometime I have to try the 70s.

@SPOERLX3 - I'm so happy you got every one of your requests, that's awesome pixie dust!! pixiedust:

I hope you and your family have an absolutely wonderful vacation!!

Hey guys!

couple questions for you, I booked my 9 night stay at pop last night and I'm not seeing the link to add in requests.. I haven't been since May so I wasn't sure if things have changed as far as location requests go?

The gf (who is going for her first trip) is really set on a king size bed, I'm not sure how easily that is obtained at Pop? or what buildings have kings?

thanks guys!
From my understanding you can make requests during online check in which you can do 60 days in advance. You are probably too early still.

I have a question. If we choose to ride the bus to MK and go on a morning when the park opens at 8 when would you be at the bus stop? Ugh, that sounds so early. ;)

We did a non-emh 8 a.m. opening at MK in June. We got to the bus stop (at AoA) at 6:45 a.m. (I *NEVER* thought I'd be at a bus stop that early while on vacation at Disney World. :D) and there was a bus waiting so we were on our way very quickly. We were walking through the "no bags" entrance at 8:15 We were the first in line at our Mickey reader and eventually right against the rope once we could scan our bands (at about 7:30). We were heading to Frontierland for Splash & BTMRR at rope drop so in reality, we didn't need to be at the park quite so early -- we could have been at the back of the rope drop pack and still been one of the first 20 people on those rides since that's the total number of people who headed that direction at rope drop.

If you want to use the online requests, that will be available at online check-in, which is 60 days prior to arrival.

But if your main or only request is a king-size bed, you should call Disney reservations and ask for that request to be noted, as that request won't be a choice during online check-in.

The typical advice I see is to have a king size bed be your only request if that is what you want most. The king size bed rooms are located in all buildings at Pop, but there is a limited supply to be assigned.

I did online check-in today. I have a preferred room and requested the 70s section, highest floor. I wish I could've requested to be put in the courtyard, overlooking either the Mickey Phone or the Big Wheel bike. Is there any way to make a request like that?

Have any of you requested a microwave during your stay at POP? If so, what's the process? Do you need to call to request it in advance, or do it in advance? Are there a lot of microwaves on rotation, or is there not much chance of getting one?

Yup. Call the main reservations line and have that request added to your reservation. This can be done any time from the day you book up until 4-5 days prior to your arrival.

This is why I recommend calling in your requests as the options during online check in are predetermined and very limited. They never match what we like to request.

I'm so excited for our first stay at POP. We have always stayed moderate, but needed a more economical trip this time. We are staying in a preferred room. Any suggestions on room requests?

Are you talking about online check-in room requests or other requests, like handicap accessibility? Just call the reservation line if you have questions.

Pretty sure you can't request an in-room microwave at Pop Century. Or at least, I haven't ever read of anyone doing so. The Everything Pop! food court does have microwaves available for guest use though.

Several threads have mentioned that the PW kids are normally assigned in the 80's/90's section (this of course could change). The other group that is horrible to experience are "The Fifteens". Hundreds of girls that come to Disney for 2-3 weeks at a time to celebrate their Quinceaneras. They not only take over the resorts but they also take over the parks in droves. They are rude and obnoxious. They start coming toward the end of January and all through February.

This is what I'm worried about. We have a trip planned for Jan. 24-31 at Pop Century. We are staying in a preferred room but I'm nervous about the noise and the amount of people that will be at Pop. We are planning on having quite a bit of down time at the resort. I really want to try Pop but maybe this is not the trip to try it. I may have to try to convince my husband to spend an extra 300-400 dollars to stay at a moderate so we don't have to worry about the 15's but I think I would want to stay at CBR then and I heard the 15's are at CBR. Augh, I hope this doesn't ruin our trip.

Pretty sure you can't request an in-room microwave at Pop Century (or any other resort that doesn't typically include them in the rooms, for that matter). The Everything Pop! food court does have microwaves available for guest use though.

We haven't stayed at POP in ages but I know you can request microwaves at resorts that don't typically include them in the rooms. First hand experience with this at CSR, we were offered a microwave by bell services without us even asking.

Could anyone tell me how long the Disney buses take to get to each of the 4 main parks? (just an estimate of driving time). THANKS!

Interesting... Can anyone at POP now can find out the answer? To my knowledge you cannot do so at POP.
