Disney Wonder crossing the Panama Canal, Aug 26, 2016

Hope everyone had a spooktacular halloween! ^_^

We've been taking a look at excursions for the cruise and are rather excited for the Cozumel port adventures!
So far we're deciding between Caves, Caverns and Paradise Lagoon (CZ79) or Xel-Ha Park & River Tubing - All Inclusive (CZ53).
What is everyone else looking at?

Cruisers inlcude Me (55), Sister (57), and Mom (77)
We're looking at these:
Cabo San Lucas CL24 Camel & Mexican Outback Adventure
Puerto Vallarta PV07 Historic Towns & Tequila-Making
Cartagena CT03 Deluxe Cartagena and Folkloric Show
Cozumel CZ06 Tulum Ruins

For Cozumel we're going to go to Chankanaab, I've wanted to go for a while now. Nice and easy, get your own taxi over and back, not too expensive. I've been to the Tulum ruins twice before and thought they were fascinating, but lots of mosquitos, take spray.

Is Chankanaab ruins as well or a town/city?

Oh, that sounds like fun! The Tequila Making sounds interesting!
Folkloric show sounds rather interesting but also highly commercialized. But hey, we only have so many hours in that port, right? I'm trying to decide between a DCL excursion for Cartagena or finding our own.
Thankfully DBF speaks spanish a lot better than I! ^_^

Oh, I didn't specify, the cruise will be me (29 by cruise) and Boyfriend (28 by cruise) :)

For some reason I can't quote right now, but Chankanaab is like a marine park. An entry fee of about $20 will give you access to the beach and grounds, and for an additional fee there are animal swims/interactions. We'd like to swim with the manatees.

You think we could get a group going for Cartegena? Been doing some research and a tour lady named Dora is highly recommended on DIS and Trip Advisor. Perhaps we can get our FE group together to get a group and bring down costs?

I just started looking at tours.
We have done some with Disney and for the Med we picked all private ones and guess what, the private ones won. ;)
The only thing for sure is that we will not do anything in Cozumel. We have been there several times and done some excursions with Disney. Guess this will be a relaxing day, with just a short walk to Mega and a stroll to Del Sol.

Thank you for the Halloween pictures Karin, they were so cute!

You are very welcome! Tom likes to play around on the computer and I am happy to display his work. :goodvibes

I second the mosquito spray! We went to the ruins as well and I used up two bottles of spray, spraying Tom and myself and all the people around us as well, as there were actually millions of mosquitos! :scared1:

If it is the same as the one we have done it is nice, but most of it is selling the product ....... they do let you sample though. ;)

Sounds interesting. Guess I need to do some reading up on this. Tom and I are not really beach people, so a marine park might be interesting.

As I mentioned before, we have done quite a few private tours. We would love to share a tour with you as long as it is not something water related. I have looked at her website too and it sounds interesting.
If we get a group together I think we should keep it fairly small. We had a group of 8 in Athens and it was just right. You could really hear the guide well and everyone could get their questions in.

What does Dora do?

She organizes tours. I can't get into her website at the moment - it said down for maintenance, but I will try again lateron.

Sounds like she kind of tailors the tour to the group. Let me find the website ...

I clicked the Cruise Ship Tour tab :) There's even a photo of the Wonder behind her!

Just though I'd put it out there for our group :)

You posted while I got my answers ready.

And now I can access Dora's site again. :confused3 Go figure.

If you are setting up a group (if it is a small one) count Tom and myself in. :thumbsup2

Missed another Friday, so today we have a day less than

42 weeks until we can see this:

This sounds very nice. I'm not crazy about any of the excursions offered by DCL so I'd be interested in this too.

Woohoo! Sounds like a small group is already forming. :cheer2:

Bit the bullet ...... took the plunge ........ well, I bought our airfare today. Going at the height of summer it costs an arm and a leg, but my constant stalking of the Lufthansa site has paid off and we have now got the premium economy seats we wanted (yippie - 2 free bags each) and on the only day where it is actually 100 Euros cheaper than the rest of the summer. :thumbsup2 It requires us to add another day, but who cares ....... we are going to Disney now for 15 nights before the cruise!

Hello from Houston !
Just booked this cruise ! It will be me (Gina),husband,Bruce and SIL ,Cindy. We love Disney and love to cruise !
This will be our 15th on Disney. Bruce's 1st time doing the Panama Canal. My Mom and I sailed through the canal on Holland America ,really cool ! We usually have some of our 10 Grandchildren with us, but not this time. Bruce and I will be celebrating our 40th anniversary. I plan to join the FE...lots of fun ! Bruce's rolling his eyes cause he knows how I get carried away planning the gifts
Look forward to meeting everyone and hearing about everyone's plans !
Gina

Wanted to let everyone know, we booked a tour with Dora. She said we were the 1st 3 to sign up.

They go to Manga, visiting the main monuments in the city. La Popa visiting the monastery and chapel. Then San Felipe de Barajas fort. Then drive around the walled area. The old city and plazas. Photo stop at the Palace of the Inquisition. Stop at the Dungeon, where today are lots of shops. Visit San Pedro Claver Church. Then to the new city visiting Pierino Mall.
Start 10:00
4 1/2 hours
A/c van
$65 pp paid at end of tour USD $ cash

YAY for the flights Karin!!! :cool1:

Thank you Gina for posting that info about Dora's tour. Did she say how big of a group she will take?

She mentioned there were 3 guides with 8 passenger vans. So I suppose 24. Looks like we are the first 3 to sign up. Looks like a great tour.

Any ideas why this cruise is not showing up on the DCL website? Other cruises are there so the site is not down for maintenance.
