The Future of Epcot...

What does the future of Epcot hold? There's been a lot of talk about DHS and MK, yet nothing about Epcot.

Spaceship Earth is not what it use to be, Innoventions is closed, and other buildings sit empty. Will Epcot be getting an overhaul any time soon?

Norway is getting a rehab. Soarin' is getting expanded. Plenty of things happening. World Showcase is still popular at F&W. It's not necessarily for everyone but I see some action happening.

During D23 there was an off handed comment about the next iteration of Epcot, but beyond that no specifics are mentioned. We will see place holders in Innoventions probably. I don't expect much to happen for at least 2 years, Disney wants to let the costs of their current projects settle in.

I think unlike AK and DHS, Epcot will be getting their refurbishment over a longer period will small updates happening here and there. I know there had been a rumor of Spaceship Earth being renovated for at least 2 years now. I think once AK is done they will start some projects at Epcot and slowly fix it over time with minimal closures.

The current sponsorship for Spaceship Earth ends in 2017, so maybe after that we will get a new rehab.

Supposedly Epcot has a 350 million dollar budget but uncertain what it's for. An illuminations redo is in the works as well.

Epcot is so stale unfortunately. I don't consider expanding one of the few popular attractions much of an update and I won't comment on the Norway thing.
Well the expansion is coming along with an update Soarin is getting a new film while it's not a huge change its still a change but yes I agree Epcot is stale.

I think a lot of the "staleness" would go away if they put the effort back into Innoventions. Years ago, there was alot of nice things to do and see there. I'd like to see a high end restaurant go into Odyssey but I know Epcot's not really hurting for food options.

Innoventions, wonders of life, and imagination, maybe even the odyssey...

Why mess with Spaceship Earth, when several other buildings are sitting empty? I hope the place their focus on Innoventions, Life, Imagination, Energy, or Seas. TAKE YOUR PICK. A Tron themed attraction about computers seems like a no-brainer to me...

We already have that in Test Track :(

The imagineers who didnthe test track refurb will go to their graves saying it is not a Tron ride.

I would be extremely happy if they put the Tron coaster from Shanghai in Epcot but that will never happen. Saw the ride system and concept work at D23 and that ride looks amazing!

Magic Kingdom is filled to the brim and needs expanded capacity. Disney Hollywood Studios has just received an expedited schedule. Animal Kingdom has a lot to prove.

Epcot should be the lowest priority now.

If we lose Spaceship Earth, I'd be distraught. It's the last of the great Epcot rides of old, and I think is one of the greatest and most ambitious attractions ever undertaken. Besides small effects updates, it's really doing just fine on its own.

That ride was originally being looked at being rethemed for Star Wars. I'd prefer that ride in tomorrowland over Epcot.

If only that paper boy worked...

There is no space to build in Tomorrowland without tearing out present attractions.
