Would you give a homless person CPR, if dying

lol, well you would give them CPR when they are alive, do you dont go find dead people and bring them back to life :p
Well, I would try to save anyone who was dying.....homeless or rich. But most of the homeless people I see are lying on sewer grates and not moving anyways. I really wouldn't know if they needed CPR or not. Sad, but true.

I would like to hope so - but I'm really not that good in a crisis. I'm a certified first-responder through my work but the whole time I was taking the training I kept thinking "I hope to God I never have to do any of this...". On the bright side, apparently chest compressions, without rescue breathing is practically just as effective, so maybe I could manage just that.

The question is a little vague. Am I dying, or is the homeless man dying.

If it is me that's dying, no - I wouldn't waste the time I had left trying to give CPR to some homeless guy.

If it's the homeless guy that's dying, I guess it depends what he was dying of.

Yep, if he's dying of "Alien Chest-Burster" I'm getting the heck outta there!

Also, if the homeless guy seems to be dying because he's missing his head, I'm moving on

During my training we were told to attempt to resuscitate everyone unless they were eviscerated, incinerated or decapitated. No head - no problem.

I have given a homeless person CPR (former ER nurse).

I also carry a mouth guard with me on my keys...they are very small and fold up, but honestly if I just came across a dying homeless person on the street I would probably do compression only.

I would if someone told me that their heart had stopped but, like others have said, what's the difference between someone passed out and not moving and someone dead? Then is the case, if they are dead, how long have they been dead for? So the situation would have to be like, someone saw him fall then say that his heart stopped. Long shot.

I think if you know CPR you have an obligation to help. Being homeless shouldn't be a factor. Not sure about mouth to mouth on anyone outside my immediate family. I'd probably be too freaked out.
