When in laws cause problems

OP I am glad it all worked out for you. I felt bad for you but also for your husband as well. It must be so hard to be pressured like that by a sibling and want to help them even though you know you can't/shouldn't. I hope your DH is angry at his brother now for doing what he did and can look at his situation a little clearer so he is better prepared the next time he is asked to help. The absolute best thing he can do to help his brother is to do nothing at all.

Well, you're in the world now! Have a fabulous time and relax... Give us the quick and dirty when you get home! Sparkle on!

Hey everyone! we got back yesterday! We had an awesome time in WDW. Traveling with a group of 12 went better than I expected. For the most part everything went very smoothly. The weather was great, low 90s, little bit of rain in the afternoons as expected but nothing that stopped us or slowed us down. Got a free dining bounce back offer so looks like we'll be returning next summer as well. No word from brother in law. My step sister confirmed no one was in the house except for her, my cat did seem more stressed this time she lost some hair, a tooth and vomited a few times which she has never done before when we left but she is getting older so I guess it may just been harder on her than before. BIL did post some sarcastic remarks on some of my husbands updates on facebook while we were gone "glad you all are having fun, since I can't" definitely irritated my husband a bit but wasn't a surprise to me at all. I did take a nice video of Mickey's backyard bbq and instead of commenting on how much fun the kids were having he posted "I hate that all your videos are vertical" Whatevs. It was a great time, I made two room requests at POFQ, building 5, first floor and got both requests! :D fastpass + worked out well for us on this trip since we did have some experience with it from last year. After a hard couple of years my mom and aunts all had some much needed fun and laughs. Thank you for your support through this craziness.:lovestruc

Glad to hear the vacation went well and the brother left your house alone while you were gone. Your poor cat though.....

I thought there was a pretty good chance the BIL would have broken in and made himself at home for a bit while you were gone. I'm not sure the cat would have survived if BIL was there. I'm so glad it worked out!

Thanks for the update!
Sounds like you had a great trip.

PS: About those negative comments BIL posted... Remember, they only make HIM look bad. Seriously... Don't even give them another thought.
They only reflect on him, and actually show what a bad state of mind that he is in... I would consider such open posting of such things almost like a cry for help. There is absolutely nothing for your DH or yourself to take personally or be irritated by.

I felt awful when we got back home and saw she was in pretty rough shape, she followed me around the rest of the night, meowing quite a bit and slept close up by me last night. This morning she seemed back to her normal self.

As stressed as she was I think you are right, a stranger being there while we were gone on top of it may have been just too much for her to handle.

Glad you had fun and no problems with BIL at the house.

A little concerned about the cat's tooth - how the heck did that come out? Maybe time for kitty dental exam! (In case she's in pain.)

I checked with the vet this morning and he said its quite common for older cats to lose their teeth (just as humans do) she is still eating so he said I should just switch to soft food or water down her dry food so its a little softer for her to chew

To be fair, you should never take videos with your phone vertically. Is your tv vertical? ;)

Glad you had a great time and that it all worked out with your BIL.

I've been following along. Glad it worked out for you. And you might put some cream on your forehead for all the  your brother in law is causing. ;)

:thanks: for the update! Glad all went well, I think all of us following were waiting to see if B-I-L caused any shenanigans! Now remember, it's never too early to start planning your next trip! Sparkle on!pixiedust:

So glad you had such a wonderful trip. And you booked a bounce back, woo hoo!!! You should be able to post your updates and block him from seeing them while still remaining friends if that's something of interest to you. Glad to hear you had such a great time.

(threadjack)

My wife will take video with her iPhone and go back and forth from horizontal to vertical. Hey, if the screen flips why doesn't the video! Arrrrghhhhhh!!!

OK, done with the threadjack! :)

PS: Glad it worked OK for you, OP!!
