Disney Gift Card Deals

So excited! I upgraded my son's phone today at Best Buy. The deal was Best Buy gave $200 as a gift card back with upgrade. This was a bonus as we were already there upgrading. I used the $200 + $25 in rewards certificate points to purchase Disney Gift cards. I saw a gift card stand and ran over, yup they had Disney ones. So pumped! A little extra Disney money for our upcoming trip.

So they let you buy a Disney gift card with a Best Buy gift card? Good to know!

HELP! How much in Disney gift cards should I get for room charges? We (2 adults, 1 tween) will be staying on property for 13 nights. The room, MNSSHP & memory maker are paid. No dining plan. I am going to have Amazon deliver water, drinks and snacks. We will probably have some meals off property (but this is our first Disney trip, so I have no clue how many). I'm thinking we will prob have 1 or 2 meals & a snack on prop daily. Maybe some souvenirs, not sure what else. I'd rather under buy my gift cards then end up with too many leftover.

This might actually be a better topic to ask over in the restaurant thread. I did ask about average cost here. What I did was make a list of places you will eat on property, what you will likely to eat there and then take 80% of that total cost in GCs.

As a side question, can you pay MM with Disney GCs? I was only planning on paying room + food/purchases but if it's an option... ;)

Yes, you can add on MM online and pay using gift cards. If you're going to buy, I'd definitely do it in advance and save the ~$30 by pre-ordering.

Yep, that's the plan right now. We're deciding this week at our family cookout if we want to do it as a group or not. :)

I always stop in and read this thread because I am amazed at people’s dedication to this cause! You all have finally converted me. This weekend I bought my first Target GC off Raise and turned it into a Disney GC. Then when I was perusing my Capital One CC rewards, as I am very close to a big reward, I saw that they have Target GCs too. But they also have Southwest GCs, so I’m having trouble deciding! But when I realize that the SW GC won’t give me any kind of discount (well, other than being free to me) I’m thinking the Target to Disney would be a better deal with my Red Card. I also just got a pharmacy rewards certificate. Pardon my ignorance, but would these discounts stack when buying Disney GC with Red Card online?

I also reactivated Shopkick and got some kicks this weekend. I’m not a big in-store shopper, but just my grocery store, Wal-Mart, and Target offer quite a few kicks. All of the Safeways in my area closed over the summer, but they are still listed on Shopkick. So I pulled up to the front of the one that was closest to my house and, sure enough, I got kicks for it! I’m sitting in the huge empty parking lot going, “Score!!!” Such a dork.

Question for those of you "verifying" your Disney GC's prior to trying to use them: Do you mean, "checking the balance" online to make sure that the balance their website shows is the face value of the card? I always do that, but I am wondering if you all are doing something different or in addition to, that I should also be doing. Thanks!

The pharmacy discount can't be used for the gift cards.

Yes, we are just checking the balance to make sure the card is active and showing the correct amount. You got it !

Is there a limit to how many Disney Gift Cards you can use as payment towards your resort, park tickets, dining plan, etc.?

Also, can you use the Disney Gift Cards to purchase MNSSHP Tickets?

There is a limit online but you can make multiple payments over a series of time for your resort and each of those payments can be with a GC. If you have a room-only reservation, you can pay your balance with GCs when you arrive and you can use as many as it takes to pay it off.

For tickets (including MNSSHP), you can only use one GC when purchasing online but an unlimited number of them at any ticket booth at the parks.

If you're paying for a dining plan, then I assume that you've got a package. You can pay off your package with GCs by calling Disney reservations or by making multiple payments online as mentioned above. If you've reserved your room through a DVC member and you want to add the dining plan, it would depend on whether you can pay for it with GCs. An individual owner may not want to be bothered with reading off a bunch of GC codes to member services in order to pay for your dining plan. And places like David's don't deal with GCs at all.

You can always open a DVA and deposit the GCs there so that their value is combined (you will earn a $20 Disney GC for every $1000 spent on qualifying purchases). Or you can go to the Disney GC website and combine GCs (up to a total of $1000 on each GC) so that you have fewer GCs to deal with.

Sorry if this is a newer question can you explain the DVA and depositing the GC's there?? I have almost paid off our vacation with the raise/target combo and have saved $1400 (whoo hoo! lol) just would like to know for future use

I am concerned with giftcardmall. I am short $50 from a $5000 order. I can't make heads or tails out of the receipts they sent as there is no mention that I can see of the transaction. On my ebay and paypal many are not updated as shipped and there is no tracking information available. On my husband's we are short $400 out of $5000. Again, it is just a mess, some are verified as being sent with tracking and others aren't from Aug 19. I know I got them, but I am still short $400. The tracking numbers on some can't be found, and then on ebay when I click on I didn't receive my order tracking comes up with incorrect information. I ordered something on the 25th and it says order was created on 24th. Ugh. I sent an email, but I am worried.

From my own experience, the tracking is not updated very regularly on eBay. What you may want to do is check the carrier's website for the latest tracking info. For me those are USPS: www.usps.com and UPS: www.ups.com

I think orders over $250 are sent by UPS. It might be that some of your orders require signature or are sitting at your local post office. I had to track some of my packages that way.
