"Official" 2015 MNSSHP thread

So no princes, no maleficent, no villians dance party, no villians mix and mingle, no evil queen.. What about the hag from snow white? What special characters will we be able to meet at the party?

Hi, Shawn! Thanks for taking the time to answer everyone’s questions.

Your response above regarding specifically the Evil Queen and Maleficent was a little vague. Can you please confirm whether these two villains will be available to meet during the Halloween party? Thanks!

I’m with Lori in wanting to know why, at a special ticketed event, you have characters meeting that you can meet every single day at Magic Kingdom (like Gaston and the princesses) when they ought to have more special and hard-to-find characters instead, adding more new things and changing things up more frequently like they did during the Parties prior to 2006.

An answer to this inquiry is much-needed.

Lori and Philip – Enhancements large and small are made to the Halloween party every year. For 2015, we’re introducing a major new show on the Castle Forecourt Stage, and there are more than a dozen unique characters who will only appearing for character greetings during party nights.

I'm really hoping they have some more characters out for pictures. Thats our primary reason for going to the party. My son is a character nut and wants to meet more rare characters and get autographs and photos. Top ones on his list right now are dwarves, tarzan characters, aladdin chracters, monsters besides mike and sully, lotso, dr. Facilier, bullseye, and flynn rider.

Hmmmmmmm.......I wonder if maybe, just maybe, that either Maleficent or the Evil Queen will host the "special apple cider toast" at the dessert party? Its an absolute possibility, and fits with WDW's M.O. when it comes to this kind of thing. The blog stated that they wouldn't be available for individual meets or pics this year, that leaves the door open for that possibility. I guess we will see. Stay tuned, folks. This could get interesting.

There are still several rare characters out. Lotso, Cruella, Jafar... It's a shame that EQ and Maleficent won't be available, but at least we already know for planning purposes.

this person is it working for Disney? How do he already know what caracter will be there, I thought that nobody really know before the first party

I dont get it.. making meet and greet for maleficent or evil queen or a other vilain will not cost a lot of money for Disney, and that way the crowd in meet and greet will be more dispatch in popular meet and greet like jack and sally.. less time waiting in line = more time spending money.. I think they are missing a good chance to make the customers really really happy...

Anyone have a costume idea for my 7 year old? He's on the autism spectrum - ok with hats but the costume itself would be best if like regular clothes (I think I'd struggle to get him into any of the store bought ones because they are either bulky or a material he's not familiar with). We are going late September so it might still be hot too. And I'm totally about to lose my Disney card over this ... he's not into Disney characters at all. He loves Disney for the rides and the atmosphere but not really into the movies. So I'm actually trying to think of something non-Disney related.

Does he like superheroes? They have superhero T-shirts that look like the front of the superhero, some even come with attached capes. He could just wear one of those with regular shorts and shoes if he wanted. My DH doesn't really do costumes, so that is what he wears to the party. They come in kids sizes. Here is the Superman One:

DH also has a Captain America one. He won't wear the hat, but since your DS is ok with hats you could add it. I know we have also seen Thor, Spiderman, Iron Man, and I'm sure there are also others.

I'm very disappointed by the Disney Parks Blog yesterday. We bought tickets to multiple parties, and now I am getting sorry that we did. Typically, we spend one party doing the shows and parades and Haunted Mansion, and one seeing all the characters, especially the villains. I hate that they have taken meet and greets with Malificent and the Evil Queen totally away this year- at least they still had them last year if you wanted to pay for them (we did the Soiree)- but this year it is totally gone. Those are the 2 primary Villains that everyone wants to meet! I will be really upset if they show up at the dessert party for that toast and do meet and greets there with no prior notice. We don't have any interest in doing the party without characters, but if those 2 were there we would have booked it. I'm sure the party will be full by the time the first one rolls around if it is not already. No Princes back? Something else taken away with no new benefit added. Lotso? The last 2 times we saw him at MNSSHP, he was just standing there with no line waiting for someone to come see him. No Villians' dance party? Sounds like they are investing everything into this new castle show based on an old movie that a lot of today's kids have never even heard about (if I had to guess, I would say they must have a remake or sequel in the works to make a show based on it now). I haven't seen that movie in years, but I remember that I didn't really like it that much when it came out. I'm sure the castle show will be cute, but I really liked the old castle show. I would rather have the old castle show with more unique character meet and greets available. Okay, I'm done whining for now.

Key words bolded.

Like I said before, this same blog broke the news last year about Maleficent and Evil Queen meeting in PFH, then quietly took it away a few days later, deleting any comments referring to it. Leaving questions that made no sense in the context of the new wording of the blog with answers that applied when it was changed. (note the date asked and answered)

Does this mean that Rapunzel and Cinderella won’t be at the party?

Amber – You will be able to find them inside Princess Fairytale Hall.

We are going to the first party of the year so part of me feels duty bound to attend the 1st parade viewing spot to report back to the DisBoards and part of me agrees with your statement that a front row view will be available 5 minutes before it starts so why waste the time?
You REALLY don't owe us anything - plenty of people will be reporting back after the first party.

I'm just catching up since yesterday. With the confirmation that Maleficient and Evil Queen won't be meeting, I'm totally feeling ripped off by the ticket price. Even if they do something at the dessert party, I refuse to pay double to meet villains that I met at the party two years ago for a much lower price.

At least Cruella will be out and about. With my son wanting to dress as Carlos from Decendents, I think it will be a hoot for him to get a picture with "Mom."

After last year i dont even approach the blogs for info about MNSSHP, it was so misleading for mnsshp last year and even after the party started things were changed on a whim. I'm glad I don't go for the reasons a lot of others do for the m&g and what not, I go cause i enjoyed Halloween. If I went expecting extras like they talk about it seems I'd be sorely disappointed this year.

The difference in info from last year to this year is that the special event was announced AFTER the general party blog. That is not the case this year, so I wouldn't get my hopes up for any major changes.

No one should be buying tickets while thinking that certain meets/offerings will take place. Everything at WDW is always subject to change, and after last year's craziness, that lesson should have been learned. We could go to the party and meet no one, and still have an absolute blast.
