Official 'how to get from point A to point B while at WDW' thread.

Hi All:

Thinking about morning mini-golf at Winter Summerland, then heading to DTD for lunch. I've seen the suggestion to take the bus from BB to SS then walk. Would it make any sense to take the bus to CSR, which is just down the road, and then bus to DTD?
TIA
The only reason for walking from SSR is to avoid a wait of up to 20 minutes for the 2nd bus. If the wait doesn't bother you, you can transfer at any resort

Oh thanks! Good to know! Where exactly is the boat at MK?
Right at the foot of the Resort Monorail entrance ramp. When you get off the bus, follow the crowd towards the MK Main Entrance, but instead of turning right into the security check, keep going straight along the waterfront. The Resort Monorail will be straight ahead, and the GF boat dock will be just to the left of it.

Hi all! I'm newish to the boards and this is one of my first posts.
We will be staying at POFQ September 10-13 and I have 2 questions.
1. On the 10th we have a 7:05 reservation at Sanaa. What's the best way to get there?
2. On the 12th we will be taking a carriage ride at Fort Wilderness. I know there is some sort of boat transport, but the more I read, the more I get confused

Thanks in advance!

  1. Take bus to Epcot, transfer to bus to AKL. (DAK closes at 5, so no transfer available there.) Allow 90 minutes.
    • If you get out of dinner after 9pm, take bus to DTD, and then boat or bus to POFQ. You could also take bus to MK as late as 10pm, but you'd be running into post-fireworks crowds at MK bus depot.
  2. Take bus to MK, transfer to boat to Ft Wilderness (make sure you go to Ft Wilderness, not Wilderness Lodge.) The boats board directly opposite the MK Main Gate. Ask deck hand as you leave the boat for walking directions to the carriage ride. Allow 90 minutes.

What time should we leave Magic Kingdom to get to a 4:30 Nine Dragons reservation at EPCOT? What Disney transportation would be most efficient for this?

I just looked at the first post in this thread, which answered part of my question--it looks like we'd need to take a monorail to the TTC and then switch to another monorail to EPCOT? I still need advice about how much time to allow though, and I found another time I have questions about as well!

How long should we allow to get from MK to a 4:30 p.m. Nine Dragons reservation at EPCOT?

Also, how much time should we allow to take the water taxi from POR to DD and then walk to Raglan Road for a 7:45 p.m. dining reservation?

I just made my fast pass ressies today so I'm trying to make sure the schedule I put together will actually work in reality!!

Thanks for any input!

1. Actually, I would take the bus to Beach Club and then walk to the International Gateway.

2. I would allow an hour just just to give yourself plenty of waiting time.

3. Same as #2.

1. I would take the bus to either YC/BC or BW...then walk to the International Gateway (Epcot's back door), and on to Nine Dragons. For a 4:30 adr, I would try to leave MK by 3:30, no later. If you want to take the monorail, then yes, Express monorail line to TTC, then transfer to the Epcot line and walk thru Epcot. The walk itself will take you at least 15 mins, more like 20 or so.

2. For a 7:45 adr, I would want to be at the boat dock no later than 6:30...that gives you time in case you have to wait for a second boat....they can be crowded late in the afternoon/early evening...then time to walk to Raglan Rd.

What's the best way to get from CSR to Fantasia Gardens mini golf?

Howdy

We have a 5:25ADR at Whispering Canyon at WL
Hoping to go see Yee Haw Bob at POR for 8:30
(If he is planning to play that evening)

Best advice to get there? WL to MK to POR busses?
Taxi? Uber?

Best way to get from AS Movies to SSR? I'm thinking bus to DTD, but then I can't decide if it's faster to walk or take the ferry from that area. Approximately how long of a walk is it?

I walked from the Marketplace dock, to the Grandstand area, furthest bldg, a week or so ago. It took me about 20 mins.
You could also just take the bus to either DHS or EPCOT and then transfer to the SSR bus.

The only way to find out about the monorails operating hours, is to walk over to a monorail CM?
Well, your resort concierge could tell you what the planned operating hours are. But I have seen the monorails operating when they were scheduled not to be, and I don't know of any reliable source for last minute or unscheduled downtime, other than the monorail cm's. You could try the resort concierge, but I don't know how up-to-the-minute their info is.

Unfortunately, changes to the monorail schedule or status are not consistently communicated to bus drivers.

The other possible source is the transportation information booth near the Ferry Boat exit at the MK, but that is actually staffed by Watercraft, and again I don't know how good their info is for monorails.
