Pre-trip report November, 2015 Hershey to WDW

I tend go with broad brushed budgeting, and try to bite off pieces of the trip to pay off. It is one of the advantages to planning trip six months to a year in advance. Pay for a flight here, and the resort there, then the tickets, so by the time the trip is on there are no outstanding bills. Then it's just turning on the Disney pricing index when buying food and drinks . . . $8.00 for a beer . . . what a great deal. Just $25.00 for a light lunch for two . . . it's practically free. Instead of budgeting $XX.XX per day for meals, and $XX.XX for other items. I just think welp this is going to $400.00 after estimating high and then add 50% onto of it.

Mini Crisis:

Wheels in my head were turning.

So with all the news lately on how long it is going to take to open Avatarland in AK, and Disney Springs making progress, but slow progress, and every other day it seems a new section of DHS closing soon with no replacement in sight it seems that our time frame for ONE YEAR OF DISNEY might be a disappointment. Sure Queen Elsa's annexation of the Norway pavilion might be complete during our November 2015 to October 2016 trip timeframe, but I don't think Disney Springs will be done, and DHS or whatever it might be renamed in the near future, will be a construction zone. I had this thoughts rumbling around my head when my dear sweet saintly Disney wife brought this up to me hesitantly. While I would like to say she brought this up to me while I was enjoying a fine port in my den after supper while I smoked my pipe in my red smoking jacket, she actually brought it up after we ate dinner in front of the TV is as our custom when we walked Ike. (see my avatar that's Ike.)

So the plan was starting this November we would convert our 4 day park hoppers to APs, and spend six night in MK this November. Then probably two or three night in January and/or March.** Then a four or five night trip in May at Fort Wilderness in a rented RV followed by a week in September at some Moderate or perhaps DVC or Swolphin. Then maybe perhaps but probably not but still maybe a quickie two nighter in October, '16 because why not. The plan has us traveling to the happiest place on Earth four to maybe even five or six times over a year. It works because we will have APs. The things we would do, and eat, and see and eat some more. For example the idea at Fort Wilderness is to relax more at the camp ground and/or MK resorts than do park commando style vacation for five days. We could spend a couple hours in Epcot one morning and then catch the last couple hours at MK that night because who cares . . . we have APs. Let's enjoy the little things such as Trails End fried chicken and Yuengling Lager at Crockett's Tavern and take boats to GF. The issue is if during the year DHS is half shut down, and after our ONE YEAR of DISNEY is over then all sorts of new DHS (hopefully Star Warsy) goodness will open and we'll miss a new land in AK. Imagine going to NYC but Radio City is down, there's a strike on Broadway, and the Yankees are on the road. But if we don't do it this year we'll we ever do it? My guess is as DHS is injected with new stuff and if Avatarland isn't a bust it'll be a pain both in getting reservations and in the wallet to go to WDW in say '17 to '18.

Now What?

After talking it out and watching our weekend intake of various Disney YouTube shows of watching other people traveling to WDW while we sit not he sofa we determined to carryon with the original plan. However, if reports from September and October are that things are kind of a pixie dust disappointment we might have to alter our plans. The trip for November is a definite go. We are getting in a car or SUV and driving from Hershey to WDW. Getting our Parkhoppers converted to APs and planning a bunch more trips for the following 12 months could switch. I'd say a month ago I was 95% the ONE YEAR OF DISNEY will happen barring some tragic circumstance. I am now at 75%. The Disney Wife is at 78%. We had in the back of our heads that following our ONE YEAR OF DISNEY we'd go for a three or four nighter the following year to get our fix. (Skip a year? Nope. Not us.) Maybe that'll be enough time to fit in all the new stuff opening after our ONE YEAR OF DISNEY. Anyhow, it's WDW. How disappointing or bad can it be? I mean really.

**March? How did March 2016 suddenly get shoehorned as a possible time for a trip? It's the month of Disney Wife's birthday. So if some cheap airfare can be had, and a room at a Value opens up at a nice price . . . a two or three night stay could happening. I am not saying it is likely. I am just saying . . . that's all.

Your head was spinning! Glad you have most of it straightened out! LOL...

I agree with you. DHS is under some wild construction for the next year or so! and yes i do hope for some more Star wars.. as long as the rumor of the Muppets is WRONG they can't touch my muppets. I will cry.
I am sure they are making way for a lot more Pixar things too.

I am in the minority.. i am SO EXCITED for avatarland!!! the small snippets on your tube are very exciting!

Looking forward to reading the Disney year!

Soooo, I may have done something crazy today...

Full story tonight after dinner...

Now that we have a bit more information/confirmation of the construction at Wilderness Lodge, I am not terribly thrilled about it, but I don’t think it will be too horrible. At least the main pool is still open, and they say it won’t affect the boat service or the path to Fort Wilderness, so we should still be able to walk to Trail’s End. I don't think we ever seriously considered changing. (At least I didn't).

So, some people were talking online yesterday about being offered a $100.00 per night credit if they were staying at Wilderness Lodge during the construction. What?! $100 per night credit? I could potentially get $400 back?? So, I talked it over with Nigel. I think we were both of two minds about it. If we were going to WL no matter what and weren’t terribly bothered by the construction, should we really seek out the credit? On the other hand, if they are offering it if you call, it doesn’t hurt to ask, right? I don't know. I think I am still struggling with the morality of it, if you will. Anyway, I did call and asked some questions about the construction, learned we will not be able to see the Electrical Water Pageant from WL and would have to go to another hotel to see it. So that is a bummer. And of course, all that construction will be around. So, bottom line, I was transferred to guest services and got the credit.

So, since I just saved us $400.00, how better to celebrate than booking a dinner at Victoria & Albert’s, right? Say what?? I know, I am crazy. But we have always talked about splurging and doing dinner here. So, we have this extra money and we have our change jars that we are going to cash in. You know, the pocket change you throw in a change jar to save for a rainy day or what not? Last time we saved up our change for over a year, we ended up with $400! So, between the change and the savings and the fact that we are driving and thus have more luggage room for fancy dress up clothes, I just thought it would be an ideal time to do it.

I called V&A just to see if they still had any openings for the week we will be there, and they had one that would fit our plans. (The other was our party night). So, as of right now, we are booked in V&A, main dining room for Tuesday, 11/10. Cancellation is up to 24 hours in advance, so we still have time to back out! J But there it is, our (my) crazy ADR decision for today.

So, that Tuesday, we also have lunch scheduled for Biergarten at 12, and they don't open any earlier. So, now I am thinking we should try to switch our Biergarten to another day, since I don't think a lunch buffet the day of a seven-course meal is the wisest choice!!!

Anyway, hopefully, I am not being too crazy!:rotfl2:

I have a reminder on our calendar set for a week before we leave set to remind us on our phones, watches, iPads etc "Are you sure you are really are going to Victoria and Albert's? There is time cancel."

If our pile of change converted into Mouse Money soaks up a lot of the tab then fine, but if not . . . it's Friar's Nook night. (Luckily we did not convert the piles into change into Pesos when we went to the Dominican Republic as was the original plan. I think Li Li mention above someplace we spent five night in Punta Cana. It was wonderful.)

I must admit I am looking forward to dinning at Vicky and Bert's. The last super cool such meal I had was two night's before we got hitched in Vegas at Aureole in Mandalay Bay. It was eight courses of wow. Oh, there was the time in Philadelphia we feasted upon a roast pig. Our family of six (my Mom and Dad, my sister and her should be husband, but not) and Li Li and I had a roast pig with all the trimmings at Amada. So we have had two such truly epic meals since we were married or close enough that it was too late to back out. Yet, I am a bit stunned that we might do it on this trip. I was always kinda thinking it would be the reason for a trip on a two or three nighter visit. Things appear to be lining up on this trip (maybe) so we shall see. Although, the hotdog with truffle oiled mac and cheese is pretty tasty too.

On a side note, my boss who is DVC called on her way back from an 8 night stay at Aulani. She shared that it was perfect. I am envious.

Biergarten to another day, since I don't think a lunch buffet the day of a seven-course meal is the wisest choice!!!

YAY FOR YOU!!! can't wait to hear how you enjoyed it.. AWESOME FOR SAVINGS!!! best news ever for a Disney vaca!
No, your not going to want Biergarten then V&A.. HA! Excited to see how your going to switch this up!

Joining in because I couldn't resist when I saw Hershey in your title (we live across the river from Harrisburg and have season passes to Hershey Park). I've considered driving several times, but always ended up booking a flight instead. Mostly because the thought of being trapped in a car with my kids asking "are we there yet?" for hours on end made me itchy. We managed to get ridiculously cheap flights for a trip we're taking next January (JetBlue non-stop out of BWI).

I'm meeting my sister and niece at WDW in August. I'm upgrading my UT pass to an AP and buying the TIW card. For us, it will definitely work in our favor, since we have that January trip planned. I didn't know about the 18% tip, but we always add 20% anyway, so that wouldn't matter to us. I guess it really depends on how many TS meals you think you'll have. We're a party of six, so we usually make back that $100 in two meals. Which is sort of depressing, now that I think about it...

We've had MM the past two trips and I plan to get it this time around. We used the heck out of it. I'm looking forward to the videos. Maybe I'll even get around to riding TOT, if only for the hilarity of seeing how much I hate it (love the theme - the dropping up and down I can pass on).

Thanks! Yep, some switching up is definitely in order!

Well, howdy neighbor! :welcome:

Nigel and I both grew up on the West Shore, but somehow migrated over here to Hershey! Yep, the drive will be an adventure. I just hope I'm not the one who ends asking if we're there yet! So exciting that you have a trip next month and then in January. Yeah, I figured for the table service meals with alcohol included in discount, we're bound to make the money back for TIW. Lol, I know what you mean about that realization being depressing! :rotfl:
Still haven't made up my mind about MM yet, but plenty of time to agonize over that decision. If you get the MM and videos for August, let me know what you think about the videos if you don't mind. I think that could be my tipping factor. :goodvibes

As you may have read, crazy minds prevailed and we have a booking for V&A!!! So, other than our current ADRs and F&W booths, we will likely stick to QS for everything else. So, no more TS squeezing in there! (I say that now, but...) I actually debated about keeping California Grill, but since we usually only order the sushi and appetizers here and I really am hoping for fireworks viewing, I rationalized keeping it. (Good job at debating yourself, brain!)

So, some minor changes to plans:

Day 1 – Biergarten ADR moved to here for lunch

Day 2 – no plans

Day 3 – V&A

Day 4 – Beaches & Cream at 3:30 (just for sundaes and honestly still debatable) and CG at 9:10

Day 5 – Kona at 9:15 am & MVMCP night! (Although I’m starting to have second thoughts on Kona for breakfast. We’ll see).

Day 6 – Still Sci Fi for lunch

Day 7 – Still Boma for departure day breakfast

I am also starting to roughly plan out some days in my head, but I don’t want to get ahead of myself!

Also, did anyone happen to notice that Disney is now offering a “Decline Magicbands” link under the Customize Bands page on MDE? Looks like they are finally going to have people start reusing bands. Honestly though, we feel like our bands got pretty beat up by wearing them constantly for a week! So, for now, we are okay with adding to our collection. I'm sure in the future they will start asking people to reuse or at least stop giving out two sets for split stays. That is a little ridiculous. I still don’t understand why Disney’s computer system can’t understand the split stay thing. But then again, what do I know about computers? Or hotels? Or the hospitality industry? Okay, I’ll just sit here and look pretty.
:flower1:

I'll have another update on my F&W thoughts probably tomorrow, but for now, I better finish up my laundry. :laundy:

No I didn't notice it! I do want the ones i ordered this time around since now i will have ALL colors and multiples of them! LOL
all the ones we have are decorated.. So we need new ones! LOL.. I am terrible.
I love the ADR's and all your plans it really is shaping up to be an amazing trip for the two of you!! So excited your doing V&A!!!! can't wait to hear how much you loved it.

Not terrible! I bet many people will still like to pick out new ones! Yay for getting all the colors, lol! Thanks, it's starting to feel very exciting, especially since double digit day will be coming up soon!

Not even 24 hours later, and I already changed my ADRs again! :rotfl2:Nigel expressed concern about hitting a breakfast buffet right before some marathon driving home. Something about food comas and accidents? So, we switched up Kona and Boma. Now Boma is morning of day 5 and Kona is departure day. It should be interesting to see how many of these ADRs have stuck when I write a trip report.

So, let’s talk Food and Wine booths!

Let’s be completely crazy and list every item I want to have. (Disclaimer: Other than specialty drinks, I’m not listing any beer or wine we might have as it’ll be strictly spur of the moment.) I’m marking must do’s with asterisks, but all of this will really come down to a) room in the tummy and b) room in the budget! (Disclaimer 2: A lot of this is based on our 2013 F&W one-day experience). Ooh, maybe I can add some of my F&W pics from 2013.

Africa:
- Berbere-style beef tenderloin tips with onions, jalapeños, tomato and pap
- Buttered chicken with micro cilantro and naan bread*

Both of these sound good to me, but I am a sucker for butter chicken, so that may get the nod. (especially since we likely won’t hit Sanaa this trip)

Australia:
- Grilled sweet and spicy bush berry shrimp with pineapple, peppers, onions, and snap peas
- Grilled lamb chop with mint pesto and potato crunches
19741311608_29091e5fb1.jpg

- Lamington: Yellow cake dipped in chocolate and shredded coconut

We had the lamb chop in 2013, and it was very good, but I don’t know that I would go racing back for it since there is plenty of new stuff to try. I’m not into shrimp, but Nigel likes them. Pass on the dessert, coconut is gross!

Belgium:
- Potato and leek waffle with beer-braised beef and smoked gouda cream*
- Belgium waffle with warm chocolate ganache and whipped cream*
- Belgium waffle with berry compote and whipped cream

Can you believe we didn’t hit Belgium in 2013?! This looks similar to what they had then. My guess is it will be a toss up as to whether we want to go savory or sweet. The first two sound great! (Nigel won’t go for berry compote.)

Brazil:
- Escondidinho de carne, “Little Hidden One”: layered meat pie with mashed yucca*
- Crispy pork belly with black beans and tomato
19903140716_df341e928f.jpg

- Pão de queijo: Brazilian cheese bread
- Cocada: Brazilian coconut candy

We had the crispy pork belly before, and again, very good, but want to try new things. And meat pie sounds right up our alley as we love a good shepherd’s pie! Plus cheese bread, mmmmm. Again, no coconut for us.

Specialty drink alert! Frozen Caipirinha featuring LeBlon Cachaça* – This definitely sounds intriguing; I think it may be a must do for me!

Canada:
- Canadian cheddar cheese soup
- “Le Cellier” wild mushroom beef filet mignon with truffle butter sauce
19306724714_e52b4124e7.jpg

- Chicken sausage with creamy polenta and Minus 8 onion jam

Since we have never been to Le Cellier (shock! Horror!), we made sure to try this last time. It was good, but again, not sure if it is worthy of a second try. The chicken sausage sounds intriguing, but the phrase “onion jam” worries me as I’m not huge into onions unless I can eat around them.

China:
- Beijing roasted duck in steamed bun with hoisin sauce
- Gaoli beef slider*
- Black pepper shrimp with Sichuan noodles
- Chicken pot stickers

Sadness abounds as the Mongolian beef in steamed bun we had previously is not on the menu. It was definitely one of my faves! I’m guessing we will likely try the Gaoli beef slider. RIP Mongolian beef
19742680489_4037a60410.jpg

Specialty drink alert!
Ritzy Lychee with cognac and vodka
Happy Peach with peach liqueur and dark rum
Kung Fu Punch with vodka and triple sec
Mango jasmine tea with popping bubbles

China usually has some great drinks, so I may grab something here. I'm pretty sure that is the Kung Fu Punch pictured above. All of these sound good to me.

Dominican Republic:
- Lechón asado: Roasted pork with mangú, pickled red onion and avocado
- Soufflé de yuca: Yuca soufflé topped with griddled cheese*
- Pescado con coco: Seared grouper, pigeon peas and rice with coconut sauce
- Caramel flan with rum-roasted pineapple

Excited to see this since we were just in the DR! The Yuca soufflé sounds yummy!

Specialty drink alert:
Frozen Dominican piña colada featuring Ron Barceló Blanco Rum
Frozen sugar cane cocktail featuring Ron Barceló Blanco Rum

These sound yummy too, but we’ll see…

Farm Fresh:
- Loaded mac n' cheese with Nueske's® pepper bacon, cheddar cheese, peppers and green onions*
- Griddled “yard bird” with braised greens

Mac n’ cheese! With bacon!

France:
- Croissant aux escargots with garlic and parsley
- Boeuf bourguignon: Braised short ribs in cabernet with mashed potatoes*
- Crème brûlée vanille chocolat: Vanilla & chocolate crème brûlée topped with caramelized sugar

We tried the escargot last time, so I think once was enough…for a lifetime! I mean, they really just taste like butter and garlic, but I just can’t get over knowing I’m eating snails! The beef bourguignon sounds good to me though. 2013 pic below

19308381713_9e66df65c7.jpg

Specialty drink alert:
- Ice Pop Pomme: Apple juice, vodka, and St. Germain liqueur
- La Passion Martini Slush: vodka, Grey Goose Le Citron, cranberry and passion fruit juice

The ice pop is intriguing, but I love slushies from France. Although with its hefty price tag, I may have to pass it by and just enjoy other items.

Germany:
- Schinkennudeln: Pasta gratin with ham and cheese
- Roast bratwurst in a pretzel roll*
- Apple strudel with vanilla sauce

Again, either of the first two sounds right like our kind of food. Pass on the apple strudel as I don’t like baked apples and Nigel hates all apples with a passion!

Greece:
- Vegetarian moussaka with Gardein™ sausage crumbles
- Greek salad in a cone
- Chicken gyro with tzatziki sauce
- Spanakopita

So, we are somewhat spoiled on Greek food since there is an awesome Greek Orthodox Church that holds a Greek Fest every year in our area where we get our fill of all the yummy Greek foods. Not sure we will stop here merely for that factor. Also, salad? I’m here for the decadent, not healthy!

Specialty drink alert:

Tzatziki martini featuring Crop Organic Cucumber Vodka and BOLS® Natural Yoghurt Liqueur – All right, this may be quite delicious but yogurt in a drink just does not seem appetizing. Plus, there’s my bad history of ordering alcoholic drinks with some cucumber element to them and then not liking them, right Nigel? ;)

Hawaii:
- Kālua pork slider with sweet and sour Dole® Pineapple chutney and spicy mayonnaise
- Tuna poke with seaweed salad and lotus root chips

So, weirdly, I will drink out of a pineapple (Lapu Lapu anyone?), but I’m not really a fan of actually eating pineapple, so the chutney may be a bit of a turnoff. Nigel’s just not into fruit in general. The Mai Tai here could be tempting, but I could probably get a similar drink at any Disney pool bar.

Hops & Barley:
- New England Lobster Roll*
- Florida grass fed beef slider with pimento cheese
- Fresh baked carrot cake with Craisins® and cream cheese icing

I’m not a lobster fan, but Nigel enjoyed the Lobster Roll at this booth last time. He even ordered a Sam Adams with it, which is not normally a drink either of us gravitate toward. The slider sounds good as does the carrot cake. (But we can’t forget the carrot cake cookie in DHS! The best!)

19741340980_4bcaec8c57.jpg

Ireland:
- Lobster and seafood fisherman’s pie
- Kerrygold® cheese selection: Reserve cheddar, Dubliner with Irish Stout and Skellig
- Warm chocolate pudding with Kerrygold Irish Cream Liqueur Custard*

19903138586_d0e303dbd6.jpg

If Nigel skips the lobster roll, he may grab the fisherman’s pie here. I’ve heard good reviews. But we are absolutely, positively getting the warm chocolate pudding!! It was fantastic before and a definite must do again! It’s a little on the small side, but that’s probably for the best considering all this food. It tastes better than that picture looks, i promise!

Italy:
- Ravioli alla caprese: Cheese ravioli, tomato sauce, mozzarella, parmesan and basil
- Filetto di pollo, con funghi al marsala: Chicken tenderloin, cremini mushrooms, marsala sauce and ciabatta bread
- Cannoli al cioccolato: Chocolate-covered cannoli filled with sweet ricotta, chocolate and candied fruit

Any of the entrée items would be quite delicious, but I could see these items getting passed over by us in favor of trying the more exotic foods.

Specialty drink alert: Frozen margarita with limoncello and tequila – Limoncello in a margarita? Sounds good to me!

Japan:
- Spicy hand roll: Tuna and salmon with Kazan Volcano sauce
- Teriyaki gyoza bun: Steamed bun filled with chicken, vegetables and sweet teriyaki sauce*
- Miso Udon: steamed shrimp, vegetables, and noodles in a spicy broth

Since we split the majority of these dishes at F&W, the compromise choice at this booth would be the Gyoza bun, so Nigel doesn’t have to eat salmon and I don’t have to eat shrimp. Secret to a happy marriage right there, folks.

Mexico:
- Tacos de camarón: Battered shrimp, pico de gallo, pickled onions, and chipotle mayonnaise
- Chilaquiles de pollo: Corn chips layered with seasoned chicken, queso fresco, sour cream and cilantro
- Pastel de elote con queso: sweet corn cheesecake*

The Chilaquiles sound good, but the sweet corn cheesecake really intrigues me. Will Nigel go for it though??

Specialty drink alert:
Dos Equis Lager Beer with Floater
Mexican sangria
Tequila Flight
Guava margarita

We always stop at La Cava del Tequila in Mexico for a drink at some point on our trip, so I don’t know if we’d get anything at the booth or not. Although guava margarita does sound good.

Morocco:
- Kefta pocket: Ground seasoned beef in a pita pocket
- Harissa chicken roll
- Baklava

19741317918_ab32ee71a4.jpg

My passport and picture says we had both entrees last time, so we might pass by to save tummy room.

New Zealand:
- Steamed green lip mussels with garlic butter and toasted bread crumbs
- Seared venison loin with wild mushroom marsala sauce and kumara dumpling
- Lamb meatball with spicy tomato chutney*

19306734314_48fcf4c3f9.jpg

All three of these sound AMAZING. But we have to get the lamb meatball, even though this will be a repeat for us, it was that good!

Patagonia:
- Beef empanada
- Grilled beef skewer with chimichurri sauce and boniato purée*
- Roasted Verlasso salmon with quinoa salad and arugula chimichurri

Another booth where I would try everything!!! Right now, I’m leaning toward the beef skewer.

Poland:
- Kielbasa and potato pierogi with caramelized onions and sour cream
- Sauerkraut pierogi with pork goulash

I think the first entree listed is the same as what we had before in the pic. Very nice, but not a must do repeat. That is the O.K. beer from the Poland booth, and it lived up to its name! (Just ok) :p

Scotland:
- Haggis with neeps and tatties: Traditional Haggis with rutabaga and mashed potatoes*
- Fresh potato pancake with Scottish smoked salmon and herb sour cream
- Seared sea scallop with spinach-cheddar gratin and crispy bacon
- The Tipsy Laird: Whiskey-soaked cake with lemon cream and toasted oats

19934449971_79b22aff43.jpg

So, I’m a little curious. In 2013, the haggis was specifically labeled as a “vegetarian haggis.” As pictured above on right. But there’s no such indication here. So, will it actually be the real deal haggis? If so, I’d be willing to give it a try. Hey, we gave escargot a whirl before, right? If not, the scallop sounds delicious.

Specialty drink alert: Citrus Thistle featuring Hendrick's Gin – Could be tasty. I lean toward citrus/sour more than sweet drinks.

South Korea:
- Korean Barbecue Short Rib with Steamed Rice and Cucumber Kimchi*
- Roasted pork lettuce wrap with kimchi slaw

Hopefully, one of these will live up to the Kimchi hot dog we had before; it was probably one of our top two. But the short rib sounds pretty good.

RIP Kimchi hot dog
19929355725_6c88f73007.jpg

Desserts & Champagne:
- Chocolate cherry explosion
- Strawberry-basil champagne “toast”
- Guylian® Belgian chocolate seashell truffles

I could see us skipping this. If given the option, we’re more likely to go with savory items at F&W than sweet (with some exceptions). We’ll just have to see what our mood is that day. We surprisingly grabbed the trio before; I had no memory of that until I looked at our pics, so it was either unmemorable or near the end of our snacking and the drinks were catching up to me!
2013:

19741323208_9549eeb627.jpg

Specialty drink alert: Frozen S’more drink – Although it sounds good, I’ve seen several “meh” reviews over the last two years.

Brewer’s Collection and Craft Beers – So, it’s probably just me, but aren’t these booths redundant? Anyway, with some exceptions, we don’t really seek out the fancy or craft beer (here is where Nigel will advocate for his “watery domestics”, i.e. Miller Lite), so we won’t plan for anything here.

The below are some of the new booths, some of which I believe will be in the Future World area! So, no solid plans, but we’ll probably check them out.
- Sustainable Chew and Chew Lab (you know, cause of the talk show, The Chew)
- Cheese Studio – I am for anything with cheese!
- Wine Studio

So, there you have it. A very rough idea of items we are likely to grab and some review/recommendations based on our admittedly limited experience back in 2013.

Good choices for what you think you are going to eat. I'm one that is on the side that the Frozen S'More Drink is meh & I love S'mores usually. The Kimchi dog is going to be available at the outpost this year rather than the booth so you can still get it if you want.

I'm with Mo...I'm hungry now...

What did apples and coconut and pineapples do to you two??? Were you kidnapped by pirates and forced to eat these and now you both hate them? pirate: LOL!

You all don't like the above, but you ate the snails!?!?! That cracked me up. In my college years, I worked at a restaurant supplier in New Orleans. We could occasionally buy single item things if a client did not want a full case of something. One day a bought a snail dish. A friend and I decided to host a dinner party. We proceeded to cook snails with my new snail dish. Although they smelled wonderful (yes I love garlic and butter!), I could not bring myself to eat them because I had seen them uncooked. I just could not get my head wrapped around that thought.

As for MM, the videos are nice, but short. But I will get MM every time. We will jump in front of every photopass photg. we see and always ask if they have any magic shots...along with right before you go, do a goggle search for the current ones. (for example there were special ones at F & G this year...like Sven popping his head into the pictures you take with the A &E topiaries) We definitely got our money out of it. Plus they come with some stock photos too, which are nice.

Now, Victoria & Albert's is one of those I have no desire to do. Two reasons...one I am a big eater (see my size! lol!), and really enjoy places like Ohana's for dinner, and even though it is a seven course dinner, those courses look really small, two, although I like to eat a lot of stuff, I can't say that I am very adventuresome in trying new things, three, I hate to dress up! (that alone would keep me from eating there...weird I know)

Joining in because I couldn't resist when I saw Hershey in your title. I've considered driving several times, but always ended up booking a flight instead.

We live about an hour away from Hershey (my reason for clicking on this thread as well). I just love it there, especially Christmas Candylane.

We've also considered driving to WDW a few times, and even almost did so for our most recent trip coming up, but we are just too intimidated. Godspeed to you two! I can't wait to hear how it goes. :thumbsup2

PS- I thought I was the only really indecisive one when it comes to ADRs. I also change mine a bunch of times before settling, so I'm glad I'm not alone!
