Disney's BOARDWALK INN Information & Questions

Further to my room request queries earlier, is requesting the year the room was refurbished a thing? Bathrooms aside, we both much prefer the 2013 rooms to the 2014 rooms. The colours just don't go with the rest of the theme.
) HuH ( ????:confused3

Requesting the year? I'm confused

The rooms refurbished in 2013 are different to those refurbished in 2014 looking at the photos.

BWI, or BWV...

I know the villas are currently undergoing a refurb, & I thought the Inn is as well. Could be wrong on that but.

We're stayingin villas in 3 1/2 weeks, & when I booked initially they said that mostly everything would be done by Mid August...I highly doubt that this will be the case when we get there.

I'm told the Inn is finished and just a refurb is going on at Villas. I'll find out Saturday!

Hello everyone. Well, it's official. With the release of the Fall Discounts this morning, we were able to upgrade our Beach Club Garden View reservation to Boardwalk Club Level! We are SOOOOO excited. I LOVE LOVE LOVE the Beach Club, and I know we'll be back there again one day, but since this IS our Anniversary trip, and we've never stayed Club Level, we just had to go for it! :yay:

So, we'll be there October 16 - 23, 2015, if you'd like to add us to your list. Looking forward to reading all your posts and tips about this "new to us" beautiful resort. Can't wait to stay there! (Except for the Clown...that thing just creeps me out!):scared:

Congrats!! What a lovely way to celebrate your anniversary! You will be so close to the International Gateway, and you'll be there for the Epcot Food and Wine Festival. Great timing!:dance3:
The clown really isn't bad in person. I don't think it photographs well.

Nice to see you over here...I remember seeing you on the BC thread:) My DH wanted the two of us to go back to BC for my bday, but we got a better discount at BWI, so we jumped ship too -LOL! I'm not a fan of the clown pool either, but from what I understand, the quiet pool is really close to the CL rooms (at least, people said the lounge overlooks it) so that's where I'm planning on spending my time, if it's even warm enough to swim. Actually, my neighbors have been DVC members at Boardwalk for years, and their 13 year old DD says the clown slide is really fun, so maybe I'll be adventurous and give it a try?? Congrats on your CL stay! From what I've been hearing, BWI CL has really improved some things, so I'm excited to try it too! Happy anniversary (almost) BTW... 40 years is impressive! It will be 19 for me and DH in February. The years pass so quickly, don't they?

You will love the quiet pool at BWI. It's so relaxing, and the gardens nearby are very pretty! Enjoy!!:goodvibes

Thanks, everyone! I have walked through the lobby of the BW, but we've never stayed there, so we're really looking forward to.

I know the BC pretty well, but not BW, so I do have some questions:

Firstly, when going to EPCOT from the Club Level rooms, do you have to go all the way back to the elevators and then out through the lobby? Or, like the Beach Club, is there a "secret entrance?" I have heard there is a shortcut to the path for DHS that goes by the Clown, but how about a shortcut to EPCOT?

Second, are all the club rooms on the 4th floor, and can you see the EPCOT Illuminations from the balcony of the rooms not facing the Boardwalk?

I know I'll have additional questions as we get closer, and hope I don't become too big of a pain to all you BWI-pros...

Thank you for posting the beautiful pictures. We are staying club level as well, so it's nice to see the new mini refrigerators. Your pictures have added to my already high levels of excitement as we have reached the single digits! :yay:

Your welcome! I just know you will have a wonderful trip!

I can't answer about club level, but on the Inn side, there is not a secret entrance. Our first stay on Inn side we had a scooter. We thought first floor would be great for leaving, but had to go up to second floor to an elevator closer to the lobby to exit to the Boardwalk. (There are also stairs from the lobby to the BW). Our next stay is at BC so we hope to avoid elevators completely. Hope that answers your question, have a great vacation!

Hi everyone! :wave2:

We will be staying at the Boardwalk Villas in a couple of months, so excited for Food and Wine!! :yay:

This will be our first time at Boardwalk and we can't decide whether we should request a pool view or a Boardwalk view. Any big pros or cons to either view? We're requesting an upper floor too.
Thanks in advance for your help!! :thanks:

We stayed at BWI last two years during food and wine and never had a problem getting a discount. This year, we were unable to get free dining, or any other discount for our dates. We now are considering renting points at BWV. I have heard a standard or preferred view for a one bedroom varies depending if you rent from an owner or if you reserve through the Disney site. If we rent from an owner, and chose Standard view, does anyone know what that means for a one bedroom unit.
