The few times we have been to Castaway Cay we pretty much stayed on the beach all day, went swimming, ate at Cookies and went back to the ship. Would love to have some ideas and hear about your must do's or must see's for your family's Castaway Cay experiences. Thanks!

Ride a bike.

Konk Cooler a MUST!
Love to take a bike ride around the island.
Serenity Bay and a chair in the shore, swimming out to sand bar. The water is so clear and beautiful.
***Bonus if we score a cabana***

I do think the "must dos" depend on the weather. I went rented bikes for the first time last December - fantastic, but previous CC trips have been in July when the thought of moving from the water was impossible...

We are a chilfree family. Serenity Bay was definitely a must (their BBQ was great).

We really enjoyed our bike ride... It was a fun activity.

I grew up near the coast in South Fla and loved fishing. I always book a morning fishing trip and then spend the afternoon sipping Konk Koolers.

What a great idea! What's the cost on that, if you don't mind me asking?

We live nowhere near any large bodies of water, let alone the ocean, so when we went last year we made sure to do something fun in the ocean so we snorkeled and did the jet ski adventure. The jet ski experience was a hit all around and was well worth the money. Otherwise my butt was in the water!

I regret not getting a Konch Kooler. Guess there's always next time!

Having done excursions on my first 2 visits to CC, my plan for future visits is to not do a planned excursion. First visit I did the catamaran snorkeling excursion, then rented a bike. This past time we did parsailing and I snorkelled in the afternoon, just at the family beach with my own equipment. Both visits were fun, but I felt like I wanted more time to just sit in a lounge chair and relax. So next trip I'll probably just bring a book and and make friends with the bartenders.

I think the port adventures at CC are very poor.

Anyone have experience with renting a kayak? Are you restricted to one little area, or can you travel around the island?

I agree the port adventures at CC are very poor.

You misunderstood. I don't think the port adventures at CC are poor. I thoroughly enjoyed each one. I just feel like I'd enjoy spending a little more time relaxing. Both times I visited CC, I was very active, which was great fun and some people wouldn't want it any other way. But for me, at the end of both days I was so exhausted from everything I'd been doing that I wished I had taken a more relaxed approach to CC. So my only adventures at CC next time will involve a lounge chair, an umbrella, a book, and a bunch of fruity mixed drinks. :beach:

OK Corrected my post. o_O

Island 5k.

Back to the ship to get ready and get the sleepy family.

Swimsuit. Kindle. Our DCL coolerbag filled with bottles of tasty Evian water.

New thing I tried last cruise...yoga class on Serenity !

Lounger. Floppy hat. Relax.

All the vegetarian food at Cookies. But not the cookies. The cookies are gross and burned IMO.

Maybe a drink. Maybe sneak away for soft serve. DH and DS can't have it (american soft serve =corn syrup solids = blood sugar spikes and nasty nasty moods from my menfolk) so I don't eat it in front of them. DH and DS disagree with me about the cookies though so they do have a treat. :)

Maybe I'll get in the water. Maybe not.

More relaxing.
