As a non coffee drinker what am I missing?

I love fresh roasted, non-bitter, smooth, strong coffee with some half and half or in a latte. I don't like sugar. I want to taste the COFFEE.

I can't drink Starbucks coffee anymore, I much prefer Dunkin Donuts. I love their iced coffee with cream and sugar and caramel swirl flavoring.

I love coffee.

Iced with full cream (half&half if not available) or an iced latte.

Once, ok 3 times a season I'll get an eggnog latte from Starbucks, but that's the only time I get sweetened beverages.

I'm a fan of Starbucks because they are the only ones IMO who have good iced coffee drinks. I don't particularly care for hot drinks of any kind.

I enjoy tea also-preferably iced with milk and I do enjoy a bit of sugar in that.

You definitely don't have to drink 800 calories of sugar in a cup to like coffee.

I hate any foods/drinks with any bitter taste. That's why coffee is so bad tasting to me, I think. I also can't stand dark chocolate, beer, radicchio, or any other bitter foods.

DH has bitter attuned tastebuds, so he loves all the bitter things I think are yucky- but he doesn't like sour things. I am all about the sour! Lemon and other citrus, Sour Patch kids, pomegranate, sour cherry, and anything else with a "pucker" to it is my idea of awesome.

I like my coffee black, no cream, no sugar. My favorite is the Dunkin Donuts coffee. Since I have been trying to cut costs, I drink a lot less coffee because I have bee buying the Aldi brand stuff and brewing it in a Mr. Coffee instead of using K-Cups:rotfl:

I think it's a comfort thing. Kind of like chicken soup when you're sick, but daily.

I look forward to having my coffee each morning. At home I use a KCup - donut shop or something like it. With milk and either half a sugar or a little equal.

When I'm out I'm likely to hit Dunkies, never Starbucks. This time of year I like an iced raspberry coffee, yum. (Just a hint of raspberry.) In colder weather, or sometimes even now, it's a medium hot with milk and one sugar.

No need to worry about coffee stains on teeth today with whitening strips and toothpaste. And btw - soda, energy drinks, and even some of the flavored waters do a bigger number on teeth than coffee does! (Acid! :teeth: )

I drink a lot of coffee. Have since I was a kid. I remember the first cup my mamaw gave me - love at first sip. I like it black with a bit of stevia.

As far as Starbucks, I don't care for the fancy stuff. I have the occasional coconut milk latte but that's about it.

I'm also a tea drinker (iced or hot).

I love coffee and like it black, no sugar, its an acquired taste, I didnt start until my 30,s

OK, story time! (A short one.)

I've always hated coffee. Then, while I was stationed at Fort Riley (Kansas), I got into a job that required me to go out to different unit headquarters and NOT annoy people. In order to do that, this being the Army and all, I had to learn to drink coffee socially. It was mandatory, and declining a cup of coffee was pretty much unthinkable. I got to where I could drink coffee with and without sugar and/or cream or milk. All the way from reasonably well made to coffee made by filling a T-shirt with grounds, sewing it shut and dropping it into water boiling in a used oil drum. This was after it had been boiling for three days, with water added occasionally to keep the coffee from reaching explosive concentrations. (Actually, that was my favorite because it was pretty much pure caffeine without too much of the nasty aftertaste.)

Nope, I didn't learn to love coffee. I still can't stand it, but I can still drink it if the situation demands. I'm a tea drinker. If you've never had SAS-style tea in a tin cup, in the field, you've never had tea. It's a delicious, refreshing beverage and an effective rust remover at the same time. Drink quickly before the cup dissolves.

I feel like everyone loves coffee! I also feel jealous when I see all these tasty drinks at Starbucks until I drink them :/.

What your favorite coffee or are you on the coffee hate train with me

Coffee, with cream and sugar reminds me a lot of the bitter and sweet combo of chocolate. But to be honest, I drink coffee for the caffeine. I could have coffee at home (and alcohol for that matter) whenever I wanted as a kid, but never was into either as a kid. I started drinking coffee out of necessity during finals week in college. Then I got into the working world, and there were times I had 15 hour days, so I stepped up my coffee drinking. Then I went on the graveyard shift.....for 25 years, so coffee (and Mountain Dew) became a daily habit. The last 8 years I start work at 3 am, so same reason for drinking coffee.
Now, I am amused on these boards when I see complaints about the coffee at the parks or on the ships. The LAST thing I am doing on VACATION is drinking coffee......that's part of my WORK routine.

I will add, IMHO, that if you are going to Starbucks for good coffee, you're going to the wrong place. I would suggest some of the mom and pop or small region chains for GOOD coffee. Dutch Brothers and Peets would fall into the latter category.

I can't stand coffee but I'm a devoted tea drinker. I enjoy good English teas at home and I like to get the occasional chai latte at Starbucks.

I'm a coffee drinker. I can drink any type, and usually have two cups a day in the A.M. I keep a variety of flavored creamers at home, and usually add a teaspoon to my coffee. DH really loves his coffee and drinks the rest of the pot. ALL 10 cups of it. He loves it strong and black.
We also like the frou frou drinks; but, they are expensive, so we only get them from time to time. Maybe half a dozen in a year?
When I was working nights and in nursing school, I would occasionally buy flavored coffees from gas stations ($1). Since I was filling the cup myself and they were very sweet, I typically made them by mixing half of the flavored coffee with half of the regular black coffee. Perfect. YUM!
I'm also a hot tea drinker. I can't do the instant stuff, but love Teavana or similar.

DS loves coffee with cream and sugar. He really enjoys getting Starbucks or McDonalds from time to time.
DD cannot stand coffee, but loves a good hot tea also.

You don't get caffeine withdrawal headaches? If I don't have at least 1 cup by 9am, I am a monster because of the headache. It's not pretty.

I've never really liked coffee. When I switched to day shift after working afternoons for 12 years I "tried" to drink coffee and it just didn't stick. My boyfriend's mom and dad have a fancy espresso maker and drink cappuccinos regularly. They got me hooked. I do like a plain cappuccinos or lattes, but I do buy sugar-fee Torani syrups to use from time to time. I love my Keurig espresso machine. It is so easy to use. I wish it made things just a little bit hotter, but that is my only complaint.
