September 2015 - Checkin Thread

Jack and I will be there September 16th thru the 23rd. SO EXCITED FOR DAPPER DAYS!!! Staying at the GC. Hoping to do the walking in Walt footsteps tour and chefs table at Napa Rose.

Fun! Are you planning to dress up for Dapper Days? I think it would be a blast but in the pictures I see almost all the women are wearing high heels and I'm not sure I could survive a day in the park in high heels.

Last year I found the perfect pair of vintage style yellow heels to go with my Minnie inspired outfit. However, I wore a pair of cute ballet flats around the park, and only put the heels on for photos in Minnie's house, in front of the castle, and with the main mice :thumbsup2 Plus, we only dressed up upon our return from our afternoon break and were only in the park for a few hours. It was so much fun and I highly recommend people get in the spirit - but I have no idea how people get around the park all day in heels either lol!

:earsgirl:I will be there Sept 6th -- the 11th.
Staying at the Springhill Suites..

Well we just decided to make a trip to DL over Labor Day weekend, and discovered all the DLR hotels are booked solid. So we're staying at the Castle Inn across the street. We'll be there 3 - 7 Sep. for our 11th anniversary! Can't wait!!

Due to a great deal, it looks like I will have a 5 day PH instead of 4. I am arriving in LA on Labor Day, and leaving on the 11th. I wasn't planning on going to the parks on Labor Day, however, now that I have an extra day, I was thinking of going in the evening, as it's most likely the only day I'll get to see the fireworks and parade. Is there any chance of not being able to get in because of the crowds? I know it will be busy, but I'm hoping it won't be so busy that they close the gates.

You won't have to worry about the parks reaching capacity on Labor Day itself, especially in the evening. The bulk of the crowds leave that day to get back to work/school on the Tuesday.

On another subject, what was the great deal you found? I've been hanging out for a great deal of 5 day passes!

It's a deal from a TA here in Australia - not really a deal on the tickets (I'm actually spending $20 more as the package includes 5 days and I was originally only going to get 4), but it's a good deal on transfers and hotel, plus I can pay it off over the next couple of months. :)

We did a huge 2-week Disneyworld trip last fall so really didn't plan on going to Disney for another year or so. My oldest graduated high school last week and while pulling things out of his memory box we came across his little kids 50th anniversary jacket that we bought him and it brought back such good memories. We decided we had to hit the 60th celebration this year and then a reunion there each 10 years.

Soooooo... we are sneaking a trip in on 9/12-9/15. Youngest two have a their favorite cross country meet (Ultimook) on Saturday and as soon as it's done we will load them up and drive to the airport. Oldest DS's 19th birthday is 9/15 and he's always wanted to do his birthday in the parks so we're doing it! He leaves for college on 9/20 so we're going to make some fun memories those last days together. It will be DH, myself, DS18 (turning 19), DS 17 and DD 14.

For the first time ever, we haven't told them! I don't know if we will either. Maybe I can keep it a secret? Then again, maybe not. LOL

Hoping for an early start to Halloween because we LOVE HMH, but since we don't have any flexibility in our dates we will just take what we can get. :)

Sweet story :)

We plan to be there Sep 20-23 with a good friend and her daughter to celebrate two of the girls' birthdays. Would like to stay at a resort hotel but haven't made a reservation yet - holding out for an AP discount! But should probably have something booked just in case. September seems like it's getting busier and busier every year!

We will be there 9/26-10/3, this is my third time and my DH's second. We will be staying at the Grand Californian, which is where we stayed last time and loved it! Been to WDW many times!!

My family will be there from Wednesday September 2 - Saturday September 5th, going to the parks Wednesday, Thursday, Friday. That's the week before Labor Day. I am hoping that the fireworks and parades will be going on during that week since it's still pre-Labor Day, but that crowds won't be too heavy since many people are back at school. What do you think?

I am thinking that Fireworks might be scaled back to weekends as soon as they can get away with it, but I don't see why the parade wouldn't run year round. Fingers crossed anyway! Was the Main Street Electrical Parade every night?

We will be there that week too, and I can't wait!!

Does anyone else have their suitcases permanently packed with Disney supplies??!!

Anyone have any Disneybound outfits to show off?

I am working on my accessories and jewelry and having a lot of fun putting things together. I will try to figure out Photobucket or whatever to post some pictures before September...

The week before Labor Day last year they had fireworks (and of course WOC) every night, but F! only on the weekend. I would expect the same again this year, with PTN on every night too.

I'm going a bit nuts with Disneybounding on this trip because it will be our last for a while. I'm doing a Mulan theme for race weekend.

Inspiration for the 5k - Mulan's introductory outfit.

Inspiration for my Friday parks outfit - Mulan's matchmaker outfit.

Inspiration for the half - Mulan's battle outfit.

Inspiration for my Sunday parks outfit - Mulan's final outfit.

Plus on the Thursday I plan to bound as Russell.

And on the Monday or Tuesday I plan to bound as Boo.

No one else I know does Disneybounding, so I don't really get to share my excitement with anyone lol!

Hi All,

I am heading back to Disneyland from Sydney Australia for the 3rd time but first time in 12 years !!! My Wife and I are celebrating our 20th Anniversary and we will be taking our 3 children from 4th to 16th of September:

  • 2nts Disneyland Hotel
  • 5nts grand Californian
  • 1nt LEGOLAND
  • 3nts La Jolla
  • 1nt Disneyland Hotel
Having fun buying new Disney clothes and PJs for the kids :)
getting excited now not long to go !!

I got a "vintage" Little Mermaid fanny pack as well as matching Ariel Vans for my toddler and I. I got the Minnie polka dot dress for myself from Kohls and have gotten at least 3 costumes for my daughter. I think I may be going a little overboard.

Haha, no such thing as going overboard!! You can always save them for the next trip if she doesn't get to them this time! Which costumes did you get? I love all the little princesses in the parks!!

My Disney bounding plan;
I plan on going as myself m to f, then as someone else on the weekend. Lol. Maybe as

Oooh! I bounded as the HM ballerina (with kind of a goth twist) for my 30th birthday party. I wore an A-line bat print skirt, purple corset with pink short puffy sleeve bolero, grey tights and pink ballet flats with black trim. And I attached a toy crocodile I already had to my waist lol!
