We tried Via Napoli in December - the food and service were good, and the atmosphere is cozy and nice, but I wouldn't make it a "do or die" kind of place...

If you are hungry when you arrive, and you're not sure of what time it will be for an AD, maybe you could try the Big River Grill on the Boardwalk before going into Epcot...they only take walk ups....no reservations. We tried there a few years ago and remember the food being good and sitting outside on the Boardwalk was fun for people watching.

this is a great idea. I will drop Via Napoli and see about Big River Grill. We have never been there. Thank you

Just brought my DS to Logan this morning. He entered the Army almost one year ago and went through Basic, Officer Candidate School, and Military Police trainings. His short leave ended today and is now enroute to his first set of orders in South Korea where he will be for the next year.

I'm very sad but very proud. Thanks for letting me go off topic BC/YC friends!

Thank you to your son. My much younger brother is in basic right now.

Thoughts are with you. Bless him for his service, and a big  for you!!

Since all I can think about is my trip to BC next Saturday, I just thought of a question... Does HH take orders and deliver by the pool like they do at the beach pool at GF?

There are wait staff at SAB who take food and drink orders and deliver them back to you. They usually have the offerings memorized or can provide a menu for you to peruse.

You can order the same items available at Hurricane Hannah's including food and drink, as well as adult beverages from the bar.

Unfortunately, they were unable to walk into Epcot and bring me back a Grey Goose Slushie ...

I've also been looking at the amazing Touring Plans building layout to see what type of request we want to make. We have a garden/woods view room (with a PIN code!!!!) I also looked through the BC room view thread and would love something like this
Beach Club Room Views (post #56)
I'm nervous we're going to get one of the rooms on the back side facing BWV. Ideally, we'd like to be close to SAB and the lobby since we'll be spending most of our time in that area. Should we make "close to elevators" one of our requests? Are the elevators the little black rectangles on this map?
That room that you posted is in a great location, close to the corner room that we had. I'm not sure how best to request this area, maybe ask for a room near the volleyball courtyard?

The little black rectangles on that map are the elevators. The little single elevator is near the quiet pool and near that room that you are interested in.

I think you mean BCV, not BWV. :) Rooms near there are convenient to Epcot, the bus stop and the Marketplace. Rooms that are close to the elevator are about as close to SAB as you can get, since there isn't an exit closer to SAB then the lobby exit. :)

I am going to be staying at BCV this weekend!! Anyone have current stormalong hours and cape may breakfast pricing?

I did mean BCV ;) Sorry!!! Thanks for the input!

A few more questions (I promise I've read through the first post!)

* I see that it says there are a few King rooms available, but all the room maps I've looked at list those rooms as "junior suites." Are there standard rooms with Kings, and is there a map anywhere that shows where they're located? We are both tall, so sharing a queen isn't always the best situation for us :)
* The maps I've looked at have the old room categories shown. Is there an updated map anywhere that shows which rooms are garden/woods view?
* Any updates on renovations? Are all the BC rooms finished? The last update I saw was from March.

Also, which map has the correct bus stop location?

I'll add you to the Be Our Guest list we keep on Page 1.

:woohoo:

I'm not sure I know the answers to your question about location in your first post. I'll read it over and see if I can add anything helpful. As you probably saw from Page 1, we have a lot of dining info in Post 7- sample menus and pictures for BC Marketplace, Ale & Compass Counter Service, Hurricane Hanna's at the pool.

Yes, there are some (a few) standard rooms with King Beds at the Beach Club, but we don't know where, unless someone has reported a room number after their stay. You can always add "King Bed, if possible" to your room request.

I have not seen an updated room views map which includes the garden view category, which is why the old map is still there. I know that some of the BC GV rooms are close to EPCOT with a woods view, some overlook the volleyball courtyard, some overlook the back entrance (lakeside) courtyard.

Last I heard, work is completed on the 5th floor (club level), 4th floor and about half, maybe a little more, of the 3rd floor is done. Work on the third floor continues on the rooms on the Yacht Club side of the resort.

:goodvibes:

Thank you so much! So if we want a better chance of getting a renovated room, it sounds like we should tick the box for "higher floor" when we do our online check in. I guess I was under the impression they were more finished than that. Glad I asked! :) I'm feeling better about the dining options after looking through more of the menus. We are more "grab and go" type people and I've been to the Marketplace before and recall there being very limited options, so I was worried. Thanks again!

Thanks for the info! That makes me happy:) A shame about the Grey Goose Slushie though -lol!!

That's awesome news!! Can you use your MB to pay & tip them, or is this service cash only?

I can't imagine the feeling. Not sure if thank you is appropriate to say to a mom. You must be proud. I can say that our family of females is very lucky to be living here in the U.S. Please tell your son thank you from us.

That first map predates Animal Kingdom. Both yacht club and the beach club bus stops will have bus transportation to animal

You must be Very Proud!!! Thanks goes his way for his service to our country!!!

I think that is disgusting!! I don't care how tired I was. Can't imagine not giving up my seat for a person holding a child.

I know. We felt so bad, we were standing too; we had no seats to give. His wife was standing holding their stroller and their (maybe 8year old) daughter was standing holding a bag. The whole family deserved seating but you can't make anyone get up so all we could do was talk to them and complain for them!

Thanks!!

Keep in mind too that many of the King rooms at the reports are HA rooms, and no bathtubs (HA = Handicap accessible)

I love all the options for eating on the Boardwalk - I will buy some things at the Boardwalk Bakery or at Epcot the night before and store it in my room for the next day!

Can't remember now which group (not a DIS forum!) I was on where this topic had a VERY heated discussion...many/most felt the same way you do (and I do too!!) but some (a very vocal minority) felt that it was somehow the parents' fault that they were in that position, as they should have (a) left earlier before the kids got so tired, (b) made their kid(s) stand the same as everyone else, or (c) not come at all if their kids weren't old enough to stand - these same people felt the same way about older guests as well as pregnant women, and I won't even go into their feelings about wheelchairs!

Pretty selfish if you ask me....someday they may end up in the same situation. Karma is a b*tch! :rolleyes1

From a Vietnam era Air Force veteran - Please thank him for his service.

So I'm thinking I missed the discussion of taking the bus to Magic Kingdom. Apparently these buses are few are far between (?) Is this just at some times of the year, or is it all the time? Is there a better strategy got going to MK, like walking/boating to HS and taking the bus from there (unless of course it's EMH at MK and HS service wouldn't be running yet)? The same would be true for walking through the International Gateway to the front of EPCOT to catch the monorail....just what does everyone do to get to MK as quickly as possible?

We've stayed many times at YC and I don't think we've ever waited more than 15 - 20 minutes for a MK bus. The buses stop at YC first then go to the BC. Either of the other strategies you list would take a considerable amount of time. It's a pretty long hike (and HOT this time of year) through Epcot and you would need park hopper passes to go through there and then to MK.
