BWV 1 bedroom rehabbed!

Thank you so much for posting. Overall I think it looks great. I really like the artwork!

We just returned on March 17 from a 7 night stay at BWV in a one-bedroom, standard view, on 4th floor. Awesome time "home" but thought I'd mention that our room on 4th floor was not one of the refurbs. Also hall carpet wasn't yet updated.

Thanks for the pics! We will be there end of May. Would love an updated room! Anyone know the time frame on the rehab? I thought I heard October but could have that wrong.

I was told it would take all year. I know they are behind schedule. We checked out today and I noticed that Crest of the Wave rooms on second floor were being prepared for the rehab. All floors in that wing should be finished soon. That wing includes pool/garden and BW view rooms.

Thanks so much for posting the rehab pics. I, too, love that they added the wall magnifying mirror. We will be there the week of Thanksgiving in a standard view 1br so hoping we get a rehabbed room. Should have a good chance. Thanks again!

Oh wow! We were just in a 2 bedroom last night and it was so horribly run down! This is beautiful!

I LOVE the fact that they FINALLY put in coffee tables in BW studio's and magnifying mirrors in the bathrooms! In my opinion, every hotel room in the world should have magnifying mirrors!:flower1:

So sad about those tea cup lamps. I got married in Disney and my getting ready photos were taken at the boardwalk. I have pictures of my wedding jewelry resting on the tea cup lamp. Great memories of the old decor. Guess it's time to make new memories with this new decor. Will have to get used to it. #dontlikechange

Last time I spoke to member services they said the end of November, so it will be done in time for my family's December trip:)

Enjoy your trip :D

We stopped in the model room at the Boardwalk last Thursday during the evening. I didn't take any pictures but I'd swear that the tile in the shower in the model is different than the pictures Jean posted here. I thought it was the same marble like they used out in the kitchen although not the same design where as here it looks like white subway tile. Anyway - the old tile that was left in both the master bathroom sink/tub room and in the studio stands out quite a bit with everything else being remodeled. The 1BR bedside stands were very nice with solid tops that should not get stains or water rings. The table attached to the murphy bed is just not appealing to me although did not look quite as cheap as I originally though it would. Still, not a place to sit and do things while also watching TV. Oh - and the TV's - wow, what a change! All 50 or 55" flat screens. I sat on the sofa and thought it was more comfortable than the ones they are taking out.

It all looks nice but really reminds me of VGF - like they had left over products and are putting using them up at BWV. And that would be my main complaint - though there are differences it's still overall the same as VGF in theme. Nice, but the same. :confused3

The CM working there that evening mentioned that people were complaining about one thing - the tea cup lamp being gone. ::yes::

Oh - thought of one other thing I did not like. They changed the shower layout and removed the half wall that gave the space to set things. :( The shower design at the older resorts has always been something I commented on every trip as something I really liked.

Thanks for the peek of the refurbs. I am very pleased! I personally think the new hallway carpet looks spectacular and with the matching painted doors. May make walking through that freezer in September more bearable :)

So is there a pull down trundle type bed in the 1 brs? I just stayed in a refurbed studio and it had one! We have 5 people staying in a 1br in Oct and without the pullout chair, we would really need the trundle bed!

Sorry that I couldn't take photos without getting someone in trouble. Overall, nice! New countertops, new kitchen table, new coffee table like in studios, new hanging dining fixture, fake wood look floor in entry, kitchen and I think maybe whole living room (sorry--my memory is rotten). New blue walls, new picture over sofa. Only had a minute to peek and forgot to notice upholstery. Appliances look the same. Don't know about bathroom either. I had hoped DSis would get a rehabbed room when she checks in tomorrow but it sounds doubtful. Apparently the rehab is running behind schedule and some guests with BW view rooms booked are having to be displaced. (I think someone posted about this). I will most certainly post photos if I happen to get a chance to take some!
Whoo hoo to a coffee table!!! No more hauling in the balcony table! :thanks:

No trundle in 1 bedroom. Strange that the studios now sleep more guests than the 1 bedrooms.

Due to the layout of the 1BRs (with the connecting door to the studio in the living area) there isn't enough wall space for a dropdown bed like the one they added to the studio.

So a 1br only sleeps 4 now?! I have 3 adults and 2 kids for our Oct trip!!
