I have been at six flags great America pretty much all day and I must say I have a great appreciation for Disney parks. Six flags is dirty and food is incredibly over priced compared to Disney.

I've been meaning to go to six flags new england soon to get some thrill ride fix. But from my past times there I agree spot on, theres no comparison. Same thing when I went to Hershey park

The eating areas were filthy garbage everywhere. The buildings were in dire need of a paint job. The rides look like they haven't been touched since they were put in. Then Goliath the brand new tallest fastest steepest wooden roller coaster was closed the entire day because of difficulties.

When I worked in Santa Clara our buildings (Mission College Blvd side) backed up to the rear of Great America. Just what I saw from that view was enough to tell me to stay away.

Six flags definitely. Hershey was clean but the food areas made peco bills look like 5 star dining. Makes you step back and be thankful for how great the Disney experience is overall

In Gurnee!?!?m I grew up blocks from there! Yes, it really isn't even close to comparable.

Yes was there all day today I live in Wisconsin and usually go once a year. I'm not huge on the big roller coasters but I just couldn't help but notice that the upkeep wasn't very good.

At my old job, I used to run a band festival for Great America. Groups were always stunned by the price of food. Those who complain about Disney prices need to look at theirs. And yes, the place is falling apart and starting to have a carnival feel (20 years ago).

This may sound like a stupid question, but are these new shows here to stay, or is this only for a year until Disneyland turns 61?

Also, is that Owl City singing in the parade? It sounds exactly like them...

It made me roll my eyes that all the Disney Princesses got one float together, and Elsa and Anna got their own...

Most likely here to stay for a while I don't see these shows ending in a year. I believe owl city did have a song in the parade.

This isn't really news or a rumor, but for those of you who have snapchat, WDW is posting snaps to their story all day for the 24 Hour day today! Their snapchat is waltdisneyworld

The guy hosting it just posted something saying that he had a special surprise. One can only hope it's an announcement for something new but we all know that's unlikely.

It's also a higher price point, and draws a different crowd. Much like the Cedar Fair parks, the Busch Garden parks, etc.

As a fan of all theme parks, you take them for what they're worth. And it's a quick walk to the Burger King across the street if you want cheaper food.

I'm headed there on Tuesday, as my kids are in a commercial photo/video shoot for the new Hometown Square kiddie rides. Haven't been there since X-Flight Media Day, so I'm just as excited to go back and see the changes.

Well I've been there several times I just thought the amount of garbage on the ground was a bit much. Goliath the new coaster didn't open at all yesterday. I was there opening weekend for Goliath as well and it broke down several times, that ride doesn't seem to operate very well.

You have to remember this also the opening couple of weekends (and now week), where they are not at a full level of staffing. Once the kids get out school for the summer staffing is up to snuff. Nature of the beast for a local thrill park, that depends on college and high school kids for their staffing model.
