Podcast Cruise 6.0!!! Official Info

the cruise is cheaper through cruise.com and get free tips included and obc

The prices currently listed on our site are rack rate. We are sold out of all of the group space we were holding so we have to list rack. We are checking for any and all discounts and since BOGOHO had been extended we are finding some great deals.

Plus you need to make sure the prices you are seeing elsewhere include all taxes and port charges. Some sites do not list these and are added to the final quote. The prices on our site include all port fees and taxes.

Of course if you choose to book through someone other than Dreams Unlimited Travel you WILL NOT be allowed access to any events or activities we throw as part of this special group.

This is really the key statement. The podcast cruise is a private group. You can take the cruise on your own but you won't be part of the group. We're not cruising just for the heck of it. We're cruising specifically to be part of the DIS experience.

My husband and I were in New Orleans this week and got to see one of the Carnival ships pull into port. We had never seen any cruise ship in person before. It was huge but I know it is no where near as large as the Oasis. It really got us excited for this cruise. We can't wait!

I just looked into adding the Coke Freestyle beverage package to my account and they charge a gratuity. For what? I don't mind paying gratuities for services rendered, but if I'm taking my reusable mug to the machine and filling it myself (after washing it myself), for what service am I paying the gratuity?

Unless they've changed things....
A crew member from one of the bars or lounges or restaurants has to fill your mug. Often, they check your card, and just bring a glass of soda, instead of fussing with the mug. .

Isn't the point of a freestyle machine to be able to make different flavor combinations? Or is this just a soda fountain and not a freestyle?

Yes, with a Coke Freestyle machine, you serve yourself. That's the whole point. So there wouldn't be a crew member involved, hence nobody to tip.

I haven't looked. How much is the Coke package? On other cruises we've taken, the soda card was always ridiculously priced unless you drank a ton of soda. I think on our last cruise, I would have needed to drink at least 3 sodas a day to make it worthwhile.

It's $6.50 per person per day + 18% gratuity (for serving yourself). It's a little more expensive than getting the Freestyle at the movie theater. I'll have to drink more soda than I'm used to, but I like that I can get Dasani water (which is, presumably, the base for all of the drinks, so I'm happy about that), too.

Not worth it to me personally. I'll drink one, maybe 2 sodas per day. Cheaper to pay as I go. And I don't like Dasani. Can't stand when they add stuff to water to "enhance" the flavor. If I want water, I want plain water, not water with other stuff added.

I thought I would be able to get plain water. If it's all flavored, I won't want that, either.

George, I guess the true answer is "because they can". BTW, your soft drink package is valid at bars, restaurants and on deck as well as using it at the freestyle machine.

Why don't you skip the soda package and just bring aboard a case of Dasani water bottles?

Sorry if I wasn't clear. I consider plain Dasani to be flavored water because it isn't just plain water. It's water with other things added. I personally don't like that. I'm a tap water guy myself. I don't believe in buying bottled stuff.

Ah, that makes sense and explains the gratuity.

It's been a couple years since we did RCCL. At the time, they officially forbid even sodas and water to be brought on board. Has that policy changed back to allowing soda and water?

RCI does not want guests to bring hard alcohol on board because that may permit under age drinking and they cannot allow that. They do allow guests to being in their own wine, water and soda bottles, but they are subject to inspection - especially if you bring it in your carry on luggage. The past few times I have sailed on RCI, we have had NO problems bringing wine and sodas on board.

Here is the official policy:
