I can't find the link to the old thread...I wanted to look for pictures of the rooms etc as I did not see them at the beginning of this thread. Does someone have the link off the top of their head, or a link to somewhere where I can see the room pics, as well as see when the last refurb was? Thanks!

Youtube is very helpful with this. I want to say the refurb was 2011..I could be wrong though.

Booked CSR business class with Free Dining for a stay over the holidays and to celebrate our 20th wedding anniversary with kids. Can't wait! Torn between Wilderness and CSR (1 more night) but couldn't get Wilderness so decision was made for us - but excited! We have loved POFQ on two similar trips but excited to try new resort now that boys are older.

I just had to move my already booked Ressies at CBR to CSR to get both rooms & the free dining offer. I know nothing about this resort so hope I'm making the right choice. We had to book pool/water views. My twin in the other room needs to be on bottom floor since she will have a rented elec scooter due to her disability. We have requested joining and/or side by side rooms. I just hope we'll love this resort.

Last year same time we stayed at POR and loved it. This year my twin & 9 yr old nephew will be joining us.

We'll be there Nov 19 - 27. Party of 7 :)

You will love CSR, it is really a great resort and the pool is the awesome. Adjoining rooms in Disney are rooms next to each other, connecting rooms have the door in between.

Just returned from our first CSR stay. It'll probably be our last...the grounds are lovely, it just wasn't our cup of tea. Business class lounge was fine, probably a better bargain if you drink. I was super disappointed in the lack of upkeep on the quiet pools, though. The Cabanas pool was too dirty for swimming during the last three days of our stay. We kept checking every morning expecting it to have been cleaned, only to find it hadn't. This was our first time encountering this problem ever at a Disney resort, so it really stuck out. The main pool though was very well tended to, at least.

Well we were able to secure a standard room for my family and one for my mom/stepdad with free dining today! We're staying Nov 11-18. We were initially booked for Pop as we loved it there last time but wanted to try a moderate if we could get free dining. My wife's sister stayed at Coronado last year so we were trying to get CBR however it seems that CBR sold out before our TA could even get connected so we got CSR w/free dining!

Now on to read all the info at the beginning of the thread and learn about CSR!

Any CSR veterans, how accurate do you find the Touring Plans room finder tool? I'm debating jumping up to water view rooms, as they seem to be located in places that would be nice walk to both pool and main building.
I'm not actually worried about the view (views don't make much sense to me in moderates as there is no balcony, but if a particular view places me in a better location I might just splurge!)
Any thoughts on this?

I still don't see why fd is so exciting as it never saves us money and I don't see how it really can unless you have deluxe but I'm happy for everyone booking who feels its worth it

I can't answer about CSR specifically, but for the resorts I do know well the room finder tool is extremely inaccurate. I stopped using and recommending it.

It's definitely not for everyone. But it saves us more $$ over a room discount. Each person/party has to run the numbers to see which is better.

The FD promo is much, much better than the RO discount for basically all Values and Moderates, and better at Deluxe resorts if you have more than 2 people I believe. The RO discount is only 15% at values and 20% at moderates I believe, and since these rooms are cheaper by definition, the discount is also smaller. 20% off rack rate of $200 moderate is a $40 savings, but the price of 2 adult and 2 child dining plans is $160 so getting this free means you only pay $40 for the room. Value the same, 15% is about $21 savings, 4 QS dining plans are $120ish. Deluxe RO discount of 35% is great if you have few people, but again if you have more than 2 people the price of the FD is often more than the 35% off the room.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong. I usually wait for FD (well also because it's off season and I like less crowds), but I wouldn't mind going in Jan-Mar if my math up there is wrong.

Also didn't it used to be if you went to a Deluxe during FD you would get the deluxe dining plan? It's showing regular dining plan on the promo site.

You are correct, it used to be deluxe dining at deluxe.
IMO the dining plan isn't as simple as what you save. For example in the above example you save $40/night vs $120
That of course is a big difference BUT you also need to eat enough to justify the cost and take into account the difference in tickets at rack rate vs other outlets
I find it is tricky to eat $42 in 2 quick service meals which is the break even point but you are right but you are right, each family has to run the numbers. I feel part of why it's not a good deal for us now is because my kids are so small and don't eat much. Once they are teens it will prob be a steal lol

Thanks for posting about the room finder. I'd paid for touring plans this year but hadn't yet discovered the room finder! Love how there's a pic from every room.

Curious what @dansdad what you've found inaccurate? Are the listings of standard/water view correct? If so, I'm excited to have actual room numbers to request!
