Waiting for Rest of Fall 2015 Room Only Discount

We are arriving Nov 24 so I am hoping for a discount for our trip so we can upgrade from Pop but if not then Pop it is! Any thoughts on when that might come out? Was surprised when I saw free dining at 4:30 this morning but no room only offer

This morning a room only offer was also dropped, but it is late summer/early fall and only for dates upto October 3.

Waiting and hoping also! Currently booked at BWV 10/17-10/24. Any idea when the discount is usually announced? I'm debating renting points instead but am a little hesitant and would like to hold off and see if we can get a RO discount.

In 2014 the RO for the rest of fall 2014 was released July 23 or 24.

Were traveling in October as well. We usually stay offsite, as their are six of us. The October trip will be just three of us. I'd love to treat my girls to an onsite stay!

  • With the latest offering ending October 3, what are the chances of other discounts being announced for later in October?
  • Can someone help with a reservation question? If I reserve now, will I be able to apply rate discounts later? Also, are all resort reservations paid in full only at time if reservation?
  • We are annual pass holders. Any chance of room discounts specific for APH?
Thanks all!!

If this year is like past years, there will be RO discounts for the rest of fall 2015 announced sometime this summer, possibly late July. In 2014, the dates covered early October through just before Christmas in December, except for the US Thanksgiving period.

If you reserve a RO reservation now, you can add the RO discount later when it comes out (assuming your dates and room type are covered; you may have to make changes though if either is not). The reservation for a room only is paid with a one night (room rate + taxes) deposit, with the rest due on checkin; cancelations are allowed upto 5 days before arrival.

HOWEVER, assuming you book directly with Disney:

- historically you had to CALL to make the change in rate; it may now be possible to do it via the "modify" feature in MDE

- some have argued that by booking a rack rate "now", that may fill up the resort enough already that Disney will decide to NOT offer a RO discount for that resort or room type
- my philosophy on the second is: Once I know my dates I book the resort and room type I want at rack rate (which I am willing to pay). For me, the specific resort and certain room types are more important than a discount that may or may not even exist at some future date. So, I lock in a room and rate I am happy with. IF a RO is released that works for us, I will then change it to that and take advantage of the savings; but if there is no RO offer, I will keep my existing rack rate reservation because that is where and when we want to stay.

For our December trip (Dec 8-10 WL; Disney Dream B2B cruises; Dec 18-19 AoA LM) we have the rooms booked, cruise booked, and airfare purchased. If I have to pay the full price that the rooms are booked at now, that is fine. I would obviously prefer a RO discount if it becomes available :-)

With the latest offering ending October 3, what are the chances of other discounts being announced for later in October?

Pretty good; in the past there have been room-only discounts available. Only Disney knows for sure what dates those will be for (or more likely, no one knows, including Disney; they'll decide in a month or so after seeing how well the rooms book up).
If I reserve now, will I be able to apply rate discounts later?

Probably, if there's availability. You might need to switch resorts and/or room types to find an available discount. There's no guarantee that they'll give you the discount for your existing reservation; the discount has to be available for that resort and room type in order for them to add the discount to an existing reservation. Essentially if you could book a new, discounted reservation and then cancel your old one, then they can just switch your current reservation around.

Also, are all resort reservations paid in full only at time if reservation?

No reservations require payment in full when booked through Disney or most full-service travel agencies. For room-only, you put down a deposit of one day's rate, and then pay the rest at check in. For packages, you pay $200 up front, and then the rest 45 days before arrival.

We are annual pass holders. Any chance of room discounts specific for APH?

Yes, very good chance. They'll probably come out after the general public discounts, and will likely have lower availability, but higher discounts.

They have already been released

No, they have not.

Right now the fall RO offer is for stays most nights from August 15 to October 3.

This thread is about a possible-future fall room only discount for the REST of the fall (i.e. October through December 2015). In 2014 the RO discount for that period was released July 23/24.

Sorry ...but I just booked one, then changed it

Do you mean you booked a room only discount for a date after Oct. 3rd? (without a pin or uoc?) The only room only discount listed on Disney's website ends Oct. 3rd. I just want to make sure I understand correctly, before I try to call in to WDW. Thanks!

Thanks. We're hoping to keep our room at CR GW/SV, and now that I think about it, a 30% discount is actually better for us, once I take into account the park-hopper requirement FD had.

The Park Hopper requirement plays right into my hands. We do Hopper, Waterpark and more each trip.

We had hoppers on our last visit, 10 days, and I think we only used them once. This time I've got a spreadsheet going, and I think we can get everything done without it, so I'm glad to save the $$. Not sure I'd be up for hitting a water park in December. :)
I'm just going to be glad to be there. It's been a LONG few years lately. LOL.

I'm waiting too. Either the room discount or passholder discount - I'll take any one that works for me. I admit that when the free dining came out I was tempted to switch my flights to make it work (I'm booked for Nov 29 - Dec 11) but when I added it all up (cancellation fees, etc) it made no sense to do it. I love the convenience of the dining plan, but I know I will spend less on food if I am buying it myself and ultimately I will save myself money.

I have booked my room because like the post above, I want to make sure I have the resort I want to stay at.

Out of curiosity, does anyone know why the week after Thanksgiving is not offered anymore for free dining? Seems odd that free dining is offered when the parks are even busier at Christmas.

I'm in the same boat, looking to book Riverside for late October, so just waiting for some good room only discounts :)

I'm waiting too! We're booked at POR for 11/12-11/20 and of course, the resort was exempt again from free dining, so hoping for any discount I can get! :goodvibes

Excited to hear if and when others receive a fall pin code offer. Waiting for ours too!

We are renting points for most of our stay, but I have a 1 night room only that I am hoping for a fall discount for. So I am in.

Count me in!! We are going 10/31-11/08 at CBR and we were not successful with getting FD, so it would be amazing if a discount would come out. My TA doesn't think its likely with the way FD went. But Here's hoping!!:-)

We are waiting for a discount for the week of Oct. 7th. Keeping fingers crossed for something!
