Can I Call 'Bull' On This?

I never realized that! That would be over the line for me though, I'm all for loopholes and strategy, but that just feels like stealing, lol.

I can't remember now what ride it was in mk, but I did it once, just to try it. It did feel like cheating. Lol

Heck, durning the no check return times you be shocked at how many fp- just lying around all over the place. Or messed up machines that eat tickets, spit out more then one ticket.

I'm wondering if you can take the old bands. Open a new mde act and connect the band Id number to that acct.

Cool now I have a hobby and mission to see if it's possible

It's an ethically scummy thing to do.
The only extras you can get are same day FPs. You can't book them in advance. All you can get is what is left at the time you arrive in the park. If you "toed the line", you could book the exact same things AFTER you used your pre-booked FPs or they expired (or according to some reports, after you either used or cancelled them). I don't see it as a great advantage. I wouldn't lose sleep over doing it (if it benefits you), and I don't have any judgment for anyone who does it.

That said, we never even booked a 4th (same day) fastpass on our 11/2014 trip. Heck, we didn't even need some of the pre-booked FPs we booked. We did everything we wanted by getting there at rope drop.

I might take our old magic bands on our next trip, just to fool around with them.

MBs cannot be transferred to another MDE.

I'm going to try any ways lol

As in call tech, tell them I have one trip this summer but stay with family just for the day.
But have a dec trip planned and don't want to mess it up.

I don't think it will work but now I'm curious.

That button thing is crazy all the years on the DIS ( I have lost posts and years on my profile from 2 upgrades to the site) and I never read that. My DH doesn't ride any rides but we always get FP for him so he can help DS with his wheelchair if needed, anyway we were late night at HS and decided to try the 4th FP for Fantasmic, CM said he couldn't have one because he didn't ride all the rides even tho the time had expired. Boy was he disappointed. Makes ya think about the gazillion extra magic bands sitting in the drawer.

Question - If I make a new MDE for our next trip, what needs to be different about it? I'm thinking email address for sure, but maybe also phone number?

The CM was, of course, incorrect. If your DH's initial 3 FPs were showing on the kiosk screen, then one could have been changed to Fant.

When we scanned our MBs in DHS for our 4th FP of the day, our Epcot FPs appeared even though we had used them and the DHS CM cleared out the FPs and we chose Fant.

WOW! I am really surprised this is possible and no, I didn't see the link mentioned. I personally would never consider doing this, so I guess that is why I never noticed. I am still surprised that somebody who does not read Disney message boards and is a technology 'dummy' figured that out. I dont want to discuss it with her anymore for various reasons, but truly I am surprised.

Clearly, you've never read this thread, which is dedicated to exploiting this aspect of MDE. ;)

Yes, it's possible. As long as you make a new MDE account for a new reservation, you can use your old bands to make same-day FP+s once you arrive at the park. They apparently don't have FP+ linked to park admission yet.

You are right, I wasn't aware of that link. What I find interesting is the person who said she did this has only one MDE account. She is 'older' and cannot figure out how to use a new remote for a new TV without asking somebody for help. How she was able to do this is something I still cannot figure out.

There was no arguing with the CM even tho we knew they were wrong :worried:

As someone already said, it won't work. Bands will NOT transfer to a different account, even if deactivated, because they are still technically linked to the first account. If you book an upcoming trip under a different MDE (i.e. cancel your Dec trip and rebook under a new MDE account), then you will be sent new MBs linked to that account, and you can use your old MBs as detailed above for same-day FP+.

Seems to me, if Disney knows that guests are looking for loopholes with the new system and going through lengths of booking and canceling trips for FP reservations and creating multiple MDE accounts to ensure they get to ride what they want, they would realize this implementation is a total fail. (wow, run-on sentence)

Nothing that ultimately brings more $$$ into the parks can be considered a "total fail."

Well Disney did send me 2 sets of grey one colored set from last trip.

I just checked and one set of grey bands isn't connected to my actual mde account.

So in theory the unconnected grey bands should work in the madness of the present loophole fp system

You don't have to book a room and cancel it to do the proposed method. Some people have legitimately purchased their bands or obtained them legitimately. What they do with them afterwards is another story. There are issues that need to be worked out with FP+, but I still think activity like this would occur even without issues.
