You've Got To be Kidding Me!

Yes, and I assume people aren't on MDE at your workplace. People with phones in their faces not looking where they're going has been a problem for a long time.

If fact, people at WDW not looking where they're going has been a problem since park opening. I have a feeling if it rained, it would be because of MDE according to some people.

Well... They could all be making FP+ reservations. ;)

The suggestion that this is the sign of a company that doesn't care about its guests that might lead to bankruptcy is that much more strained.

Solely for the purpose of clarity:

I did not suggest that Disney didn't care or was going bankrupt. You made the comment that perhaps the benches were removed because people complained there weren't enough. In turn I commented that companies who respond to requests for more by providing less are commonly called "bankrupt". That is a statement that companies (I did not say Disney because I did not agree with your speculation that's why they did it) that behave the way you suggested often find themselves out of business in short order.

Thank you for the clarification.

Because of the context in which the comment was made it could have been read to suggest that Disney was headed in that direction.

Think those tripod seats are no bigger than a large umbrella so I wouldn't think D would have any problems with you bringing it.

Yes I hope so. Like I said they've never told me that I couldn't bring it in. It just worried me when someone on here said they aren't allowed because I usually trust most of what I read here especially when it's plainly stated without a doubt.

If they have permanently removed benches in the courtyard the OP was referring to, I'll be sure to remember not to worry about it when I can't find a reasonable place to sit when my back is barking from standing and walking all day.

I don't think anyone is "worried" about it, but it has historically been a place to take a load off for a few minutes in a quiet setting (except for during concerts). It would kind of suck for that to no longer be an option if you were counting on that.

I agree. I remember using that location, not during a concert, to pump for my daughter who was 8 months ay the time. It was quiet, out of the way, yet with nice seating. The baby care center was quite a distance at that point. Having a quiet location with benches, not having to sit on the ground, was much appreciated. It as absolutely great for our vacation to not have to waste time walking from wherever we were in the parks to the baby care centers every few hours because I had to pump (she did not have the ability to BF, so I exclusively pumped for her) because it was easy to find an out of the way spot with benches to sit for a little while and take care of DD's needs.

Heh.
I wonder how long it will take you to reconsider that philosophy CnC.
Just make sure you pop back into any thread a few more entries to see if anything gets -debunked...

I understand. It's just when someone says something with such confidence I tend to want to believe them.

(OT -but big hugs to you AA. My second had same issue. It's hard work. You rock!!!)

Walt Disney World indeed prohibits folding chairs. So who knows why your chair was permitted. It could be that CM's thought it to be an medical device and allowed it. It also could be that it folds up so small that it isn't an issue. Who knows?

But folding chairs are indeed prohibited at WDW.

Being a man, I can't quite relate to everything in this post :duck:, but to me this is all just part of Disney simply accommodating their guests in a reasonable manner. Yes, it's a nice location and comfortable for things where relative quiet and comfort are useful. When I read that the benches were removed, we had no way of knowing whether they were coming back or gone for good. If they were gone for good, it would have been one more little thing where Disney loses touch with their guests by removing something that certainly won't bring much revenue, but by the same token is hardly costing them anything. However, I'm glad to read the benches are back and I hope they stay.
