24-Hour Day 2015 Tips

I believe the definition of "insane" (aka - ME... aka - Mr. Insomniac) is your flight getting in to Orlando at 11:30pm the night before, getting a few hours of sleep before the event, going the full 24, going back to the hotel for a few more hours of sleep (mostly to recharge camera and phone batteries/upload photos), then getting up in time for the 11:30 parade at DHS for the SWW. Have never been to that event but I Saturday was the only day in my schedule I could swing it. I will see how long I last that day and then crash and burn until my ADR at Sanaa on Sunday evening Hope you guys have fun at the event though, this should be an awesome time!


This is really weird but I can't find my full attire shots of me (including my fun ones with the actual Mr. Smee). I can't find that folder!! I have several like the selfie profile pic but this is quite the bummer... I was planning on going as Christopher Robin, but I might have to rethink this if I can't find that folder. I might have to redeem myself haha

If you've never been to a sww, I'd sleep in a bit longer and sacrifice parade for the fireworks, and they is coming from a huge sw nerd. The fireworks are amazing.

How cool would that be!?!? Based on some previous discussion on another thread, I have a very exact location in mind (I already called "dibs" on it ) on the FP+ West side (in front of Casey's). If people want to have a mini meet and greet in that section during Wishes, that would be kind of fun, just to say 'hi' and enjoy the small talk to help pass the time before the show? At least I would know the people standing in front of me so they know not to block my shots

I'd be up for it, so long as we can make it there and it's not insane in the FP+ area.

I think the entire Wishes FP+ area will be DISers on the 24 hour night.



I am very jealous of your dessert party, I've been stalking that for ages. Flounder would be sooooo adorable. We also have a BOG lunch, we will be the step sisters/step mom and a stick in the mud dressed as himself (my bf).

I wish The Dis would sell buttons for us wear so we can all connect and speak to each other in the parks....that would be so much fun!!

I always put a dry erase board on the door of our resort room. I also always put a "DIS" lime green mickey in the corner of my window. When I was there a couple of weeks ago, 2 other DISers wrote on my board....it made my day!!

I think the parade time this year for SWW is 11:00. Look at the SWW thread, it has all the curren updates. Wouldnt want you to miss it

As much as I'd hate to lose a precious extra 30 minutes of sleep, thanks for letting me know this! Shame on WDWinfo for not updating their SWW page

Honestly, I don't know if my body can put up with ~3 hours of sleep for two nights in a row, so this plan may have to be nixed. Just one of those wait and see kind of things. I will definitely get over there in time for the fireworks though!

Yeah I was hesitant to try and start an official "meet up" b/c I know, at least for me, my hour-by-hour schedule doesn't allow much flexibility until after Wishes and I am sure most others were thinking the same thing. I have to share this. My kids don't kniw we are going to this event. Well... We were recently in New England and went to the Hall at Patriots Place. I took the kids up on the duck boat and they were pretending to be in the super bowl parade so I told them to pretend we were making our own commercial and said "the Patriots just won the super bowl what are you going to do next?!?" And I got a video of them yelling "we're going to Disney World!" Then I worked it into this cute little video we will use to tell them they are going.

This will be our 1st 24hr event. It will be myself(granny), DDIL, & DGD almost 6yo. We have been trying to decide about dressing in costumes. Will we be in the minority--or do alot of people do this. I'm thinking that we could dress normally for am MK touring--then go back to resort for nap time--return to MK in costume for evening & night touring. If we do costumes--is there a theme--or is it anything goes? (disney of course).

Also, in the comments, the author of the post replied that they "hope to have an update on entertainment soon!"

I did see one clue in there, they said change into a villain costume at night. Does that mean special villains characters again?

You mean like the ones for frozen or star wars weekends? There has not been in the past, and there are no rumors of one. The closest thing is probably the wishes dessert party on tomorrow land terrace.

Me too. I've been checking for cancellations for a while but haven't found any.

How about a wishes FP+? A lot of us on the thread have them. We can have our own little party.

Oh, just realized I need to work on some sort of PJ idea. DGD will have something no problem. I should find some sort of boxer short set for me to wear. We'll be returning in time for Wishes and can easily pop in to PJs while we are at the resort.

I vote for the Tomorrow Land side myself. Mostly because we hope to enter via the back pathway that evening.
