Heading down Friday morning for a one night stay, then on to VGF for a few nights and the back to VB for 3 more nights. Hopeing to bring back plenty of photos of resort. trying to fit in a AACA Antique Auto Show at Riverside Park, The Melbourne Air and Space Show, a trip to Viera Wetlands and a spring training game at Space Coast Stadium and maybe a trip to Merritt Island and Kennedy Space center. If any one has any questions just let me know

Hey there Everyone.

My family and I just returned from our 2 night stay at Vero and I promised some brief dining reviews of the places we ate. After staying there for a night last year and having a terrible meal on property, this year we vowed to branch out and see what else was available.

The first night we ate at the Ocean Grill in Vero Beach:http://ocean-grill.com/

This place looks and feels like one of those ramshackle places you find up and down the east coast. The coolest thing about it though is that it is quite literally right on the beach. The bar is small, but provides a great view of the surf. Its signature cocktail is the Painkiller (oh and it does, it does) behold:

The food, however, is less than stellar. It is a menu that you would see at places 50 years ago including crackers on the table in lieu of a breadbasket and all manner of fried fish and shellfish. It was packed, so I think I am in the minority on my lukewarm response to the place, but it is definitely worth going to for the bar alone.

The next night we went to Scampi Grill in Vero: http://www.scampigrill.net/

The place is tiny and has a lovely outdoor porch to eat in if the inside is too busy. It is rather loud out there as it is on a main drag at a busy intersection. What we loved about this place was the traditional Italian American food and the attentive service. We all shared the bruschetta to start, which was lovely and then all had pasta dishes. We were stuffed to the gills at the end of the meal.

Anyway, hope you all get a chance to check these places out on your next trip!

Jennifer

I just booked our first stay at Vero Beach in a Deluxe Studio. We will be staying for three nights October 29th - November 1st. We will be starting our vacation at the Boardwalk for Food & Wine Festival and then heading to Vero for Halloween weekend. I am very excited about our first stay!! :)

I am sitting on the beach at Vero right now. Awesome! 80 degrees and sunny. Left the 40. Degree weather in PA. Beach looks good. Water is definitely bluer than up north. Beautiful cool right now. Looks like pool refurb and work around it is all finished. We have an awesome view of ocean from our room (2418 in the inn--I believe someone posted about this room earlier in thread).

No drop off in ocean..my kids ages 9 and 14 have been in for over an hour and I have not heard one complaint.

Tell me about the pizza place that is close by. Please..turn right or left out of resort?

Just booked! 2 ocean view Inn rooms 10/27/15 for a 1 nt. pre-cruise stay driving to the port of Miami from WDW.
Our group has 3 nights at the BWV for the Food and Wine followed with a quick overnight at Vero before heading to a 4 night Halloween cruise on the Magic planned. Should be a great week.

Question: since I booked online, I did not see where to request a room. I was assuming any OV at the INN would be good. Is this the case?

We just got back. We stayed from 3-29-15 to 4-3-15 in a 1 bedroom. Building 14. Awesome weather the entire 5 days. Had a great time.

It's such a nice relaxing vacation. Resort was filled but never felt crowded. Love how the resort is layed out. It was super convenient to our car, the pool and the beach.

Loved walking the beach every morning and night breathing in the salt air.

Don't know why it's not more popular with DVC members. It's such a beautiful place. First time in the one bedroom. I liked the layout. We usually stayed in the inn rooms which I like so much better than the studios.

Went to the AMC movie theater to see Cinderella, it was the 3:45 showing and the ticket was only $4 a person...that was a nice surprise.

This was out 4th trip.

Heading to Vero Beach in May 2nd for 12 nights, so looking forward to the relax!

Anybody there now, and has anyone got any good tips.

Thanks!!

Would you stay in building 14 again - we are heading there in May and have requested a 1 bedroom in this building.

Thanks

Do they have bikes with training wheels or with the infant/toddler seats? Trying to figure out if we'll be able to rent bikes with a 2.5 & 4.5yr old in tow.

I'm not sure about training wheels, but I know I've seen infant/toddler seats.

Since there have been a number of DVBR questions lately, Olaf says this discussion needs to be more visible.

I have not checked the Disboards in a looong looong time - but look! The Vero Adoration thread still lives!!!!! Hooray!! We loved Vero so much we moved to Jupiter - same coastline, only an hour south of VB. It's the best place in the world.
