Cruising The Canal May 1, 2015 (Roll Call in Post 1)

For the hair care products provided on board, does DCL offer items that can handle combination oily/dry hair and skin? I remember they were the H20+ brand (i.e. Are the H20+ products able to handle oily scalp and dandruff and dry frizzy hair)?
The shampoo is still the H2O Spa Revitalizing stuff. It's great for the husband & sons. I can use it once if I have to but if I use the hair stuff more than that it dries my hair out bad. My hair is normal if not slightly dry. I typically can't wash my hair daily or it dries out so bad it becomes brittle. If I use the shampoo & conditioner I have to be extra careful to compensate with leave-in conditioner & anti-frizz products to battle the frizzies. It's hard to say what effect it would have for you.

I do know that they sell some basic products in the shops onboard. If you need to, when we get to our first port in Cozumel you can probably find stuff there. There's a Mega store a short walk from the Punta Longosta pier. It's right across from Margaritaville. That's like Mexican Walmart. I had to run in there to stock up on cold/flu meds our first time in Coz. Reasonable prices. Well, everything is in pesos but they can convert at the register for you to USDs. Looking back, my trip to Mega was so interesting because everything on the labels looked familiar but in Spanish. I couldn't read any of it. So we started asking other shoppers what things say. It was so surreal and interesting!

I tell myself when packing all the time that if it's something I can get (within reason) once I'm there I won't worry with bringing extra. ;)

I always take my own decanted shampoo and conditioner. I have tried the onboard make but it is drying to my hair. That might be good for your hair to be honest if yours goes greasy.

Sorry I can't help with the oily or frizzy hair questions. I like the products, they leave my hair in great condition (I have long straight colored hair), I'm not crazy about the smell though, so I rinse really well. My hair is sooooo dry I use a deep hydrator on it usually once a week- which I'll bring on the cruise, to use if I need it.

I have oily scalp, dry color treated hair that flies away and frizzes. The on board shampoo makes it worse and more breakage. I really don't like the fragrance. The onboard shop selection is very small. They will likely send you to the spa $$$. Pack it or buy it it Miami.

Hi everyone. Sorry if this sounds like a rant, but I don't know about you guys but I can't wait to get on board and do nothing but veg for two weeks. No getting off the ship, just relax and do nothing. Yes I just took a trip to WDW for my 40th birthday but those are always so on the go. I need to veg.

Looking forward to the veg myself. Regardless of the walking, drinking, gaming, and gifting. I personally like meeting people and finding out about the world from an other point of view

When I first read you post I thought you were saying you were eating nothing but veg till the cruise. Rather drastic I thoughto_O :rotfl2:!!!

And I was thinking I better start "practicing" eating so I can be able to clean my plate at each meal..... and snack too!!!!

Cards against humanity.... You not only have to be concerned about the kids, but also adults that may not find "going there" and offending just about ANYTHING out of line. We most recently played on Saturday night, and during the game all I could think of is how the heck are we going to play this on board. I like upstairs at Cove idea, and posting a sign. Is there a way to "reserve" an area one evening so only those invited can come in? At least then, no one can be mad that we were doing something in a public area. Or let's just friend whoever is in the Walt Disney Suite and play there! LOL

FISH EXTENDER SIGNUPS ARE NOW CLOSED. Final spreadsheet lists went out for all staterooms participating - you will receive one email per group you signed up for. If you have corrections, and when the GTY and *GT room assignments are made, let me know. PLEASE put your GROUP NAME on your messages so that I can find you easily - there are 11 groups and it's tough to find you without knowing where to look! Your group name is in the SUBJECT line of your email and the NAME of the spreadsheet (i.e. MICKEY.XLS). THANK YOU to everyone who signed up, and let's all have a WONDERFUL exchange!!!

Jen, even though I am not personally taking part in the FE exchange I know how much hard work you have put into organising this so thank you very much :thanks:

Truth. I organized an FE once. It was a lot to stay on top of. Solid tip-of-the-hat to all the FE organizers out there.

Thanks for the haircare update everyone!

Plus, thanks Jen for arranging all the FE! Just looking at one list is taxing. I can imagine how 12 lists are like a mountain!

Also, if anyone is interested in what Card Against Humanity is all about, search for it on a show called "Tabletop" hosted by Wil Wheaton. Normally, that show caters to the whole family when reviewing board games. However, this is a special episode that's decidedly NSFW.

Has there been anything more on the FB group about Cards Against Humanity?

No, nothing more has been said. Do you want to just suggest a time and place and I can add it to the schedule that we have running in the group (which I will add here once I have the Mixology times and dates confirmed)

So there has been a change in the menus. Master chef is out and Frozen is in. Also Captians Gala has been moved up a day to our Purerto Vallarta day which will now be formal night. Frozen is now Cabo and casual.

So. . . does this mean all the Frozen activities will be taking place on the ship that day, or just the Frozen menu?
