Disney Gift Card Deals

Raise is only a middleman for people who are selling their GCs. The sellers set their asking price. Whenever there are a lot of Target GCs, sellers increase their discount to the buyer in order to get their GC sold more quickly. If there are only a few GCs, they are less likely to increase their discount.

However, I was able to buy a Target GC this morning for 8.1% off of the face value. You just have to be vigilant.

:thumbsup2 Agree with this indeed :) Right after the holidays was awesome as there were so many!

I have to chime in here, because you all converted me:thumbsup2! I have avoided this thread, thinking there really weren't many deals on Disney gift cards that would be worth the time to figure it all out. However, I'm snowed in today with a trip in 3 weeks, so I figured--what the heck? Plus, we're taking 3 foster kids with us, so every little bit of savings helps, right?

Here's what I figured out:
I'm using my Disney Visa points (94.00) for a Tables in Wonderland card, which will set me back 6 bucks (DVC price). That will give me 20% off character meals at Chef Mickey's and Akershus (and a few grown up beverages, too ;)).Then, I will pay for the meals when I check out using my Disney gift cards, which I got for about 13% off each using Raise, GiftcardZen, and Target Red card. So by my calculations, I'm actually saving about 33% on those character meals. That's not chump change! Woohoo and thanks everyone!:woohoo:

Just wanted to share my experience. I purchased a Dunkin Donuts GC last fall and linked it to my DD app. It was disabled a month or 2 later without my knowledge. By the time I realized it, it was past the 60 day period for raise. I called DD and they refused to give me any info and just stated that raise is not an authorized dealer and the fraud dept has frozen the card. I immediately called raise, and they quickly gave me a full refund. :thumbsup2

I have purchased several Target GC, and will continue to so. But I'm staying away from the other more heavily discounted GCs.

Thanks for the update and sorry that happened but glad it worked out for you. I mentioned this somewhere that my preference is to use my Raise cards within 60 days so I don't run into this issue but so glad to hear they helped you. Marionette has posted the experience and the way to save the Target Raise cards and they go into a "force closed status" so the person who sold it potentially can't use it if he/she has the numbers still.

I wish I could buy the Landry's that I saw for like 25% off but since they are vouchers and we aren't likely to use them until next Spring Break at WDW which is clearly past my 60 days, I'm too chicken to do it :)

Can Levy restaurant group GC's be used at any restaurant? If I buy a Wolf Gang Puck GC at Costco can, I use it at Fultons or Portabella?

I've had no problems with the Target and Starbucks cards I've purchased from Raise so when I saw a couple of Best Western gift cards totaling a $1,000 at 8% off in December I snapped them up paying with my Discover for an additional 5% off. We're at Disneyland right now and when we checked into the Best Western this morning the cards showed that they were closed even though they showed that they could see that they had money on them. The front desk called Corporate and they are checking on it but said it could be up to 7 days until they get back to me. We check out on Saturday so I may have to pay with my credit card and then try to get it switched over to the gift cards if it gets resolved. I'm still within the 60 day guarantee period from Raise but it was definitely a poor start to the trip. Once we entered the park we were able to put it behind us and are having a great time. We're not going to let it spoil the trip.

Raise has FANTASTIC customer service. You will without a doubt get your money back. I've had two faulty/fraudulent gift cards and they refunded me within two business days with a very quick response to my initial emails.

Raise is actually not JUST a middleman. These gift card companies sometimes work with retailers and buy their gift cards at a discounted rate and turn around and sell them themselves, at a higher rate then they paid. Similar to that of a ticket broker. So in some instances I believe Raise has the ability to fluctuate prices.

Giftcardmall via Ebay is selling a $200 Sears card for $175, plus you will earn Ebay bucks ($3.50) and you can click through Mr. Rebates for another 5%. I have been able to buy $50 Disney gift cards at Kmart with Sears gift cards, of course this is a YMMV situation, so buy at your own risk. At my Kmart, I also earn a 30 cent per gallon coupon (you can stack 3 of them for 90 cents off per gallon up to 15 gallons) with every $50 purchase. I know their fuel rewards vary depending on where you live. I have also seen some gift cards at Sears stores, but not sure if they have Disney. These usually sell out quickly.

I would call Raise right now and have them resolve the issue. It took me 2 weeks and several phone calls to get DD to even tell me why they froze my gc. When I called raise about it, they were able to see on there computer it was flagged.

I would be careful about using Sears cards for Disney cards. There was a special through one of the office supply stores in December and people picked up hundreds of dollars of Sears cards only to be denied at the cash register when they tried to buy Disney gift cards with them. It's definitely a YMMV kind of thing.

Hi! Those new to raise.com can get $5 off a $75 or more giftcard with code BRADS75 (from Brads Deals). Stack this with already discounted target giftcard and red card and it can be a nice savings. Must be new to Raise though.

You can probably get that discount without giving Brad's Deals the referral. I usually get a referral code from a fellow DISer or find a referral Conga somewhere.

OT, but I've never used RAISE before. If I buy a Starbucks one from there, can it be added to my Starbucks app on my iPhone? Otherwise, how do you keep track of the balance of the e-card. The smallest value I see is still for $50 and that would mean I would be PRETTY HYPED on caffeine if I had to drink $50 worth of lattes at one time :rotfl2:

Yes, you can. I bought a Starbucks eCert last month and added it to my Starbucks account with no problem :thumbsup2.

One thing I've done to limit my risk is to cash in gift cards early for other gift cards. For example, we are planning a trip to Mall of America and American Girl Place in the fall. I just bought two discounted $25 gift cards for American Girl from Raise.com

As soon as I received the gift cards I went to the American Girl website and ordered a $50 gift card and paid for it with the two $25 gift cards I purchased through raise.com.

Not sure if anyone can confirm, but I feel better about doing this for gift cards I plan to hold on to for awhile.

Good to know! While the kids and I love Starbucks, that would be a lot of drinks.;)

FYI - noticed that Target.com sells Starbucks cards (both egift and cards). So, you can buy the Target gc's on Raise and then purchase your Starbucks cards at Target.com using the 5% Redcard default discount.

Not sure which works out to be the better deal. Guess it depends on how good the Starbucks Raise discount is.

I have only done this once since its rather dangerous for me to walk around with Starbucks gift cards. Boy, I used up that card fast!! :)
