We also just booked. A party of 8. (possibly more) :cool1:

I cant wait, will be our first Disney Cruise.

I too will be participating in the gift exchange. I'm excited about it. I've already started to think of ideas. :D (god my family is going to kill me)

Is anyone else DVC members?

We are still debating about excursions in the Bahamas. nothing really excites me that isn't too expensive. Seriously thinking of just staying on the boat that day.

HI Everyone. I'm so excited for this cruise. It is going to be a girls only trip to celebrate my 35th birthday on Dec 3rd!! Can't WAIT!!!

Have you sailed before? If so what ships. I have been on the Wonder in 08 and the Dream in 11. It seems like FOREVER ago. This is the first 4 night as we normally do 3 night so super excited for the day at sea!!! AND meeting new Disney friends on here!!

This will be our first Disney Cruise. For the past two years my daughter and I have taken my two grandsons (7 and 6) to Disney World. This year we are going for the Cruise. The FE exchange sounds fun..but not sure how it works..or is that something just for certain groups?? Any tips for 1st timers would be appreciated!!

Cruise Meet threads are doing just fine still managing meet and FE discussions right here on the DIS where FE began years ago.

FE organizers generally need to know how many people (adults/children) are participating in each cabin. Other information you would like to share such as first names, ages of child participants, allergies, favorite characters, etc. is up to you. Other personal information is not really necessary. Those organizing FEs typically ask for the information to be posted in the meet thread or sent to them via PM.

For those posting in this Cruise Meet thread to join a FE, since no one has come forward recently to organize a FE for this cruise here on the DIS, please feel free to start the FE right in this thread.

There is certainly plenty of time to plan a FE for this cruise. All it takes is for someone to maintain a list of/for those participating which can easily be done in this thread. Cruise Meet threads have been doing it this way for years now here on the DIS.

Enjoy! :)

PLEASE review the Cruise Meet Policy regarding Cruise Meet and Fish Extender programs. - http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=3353477

Links to Cruise Meet discussion/Fish Extenders other than those on the DIS may not be posted or offered by any other means (PM, email, "search" directions, etc.).

The WebMaster posted a pretty good link for FE Basics (http://www.wdwinfo.com/disney-cruise-line/fish-extender-basics.htm). The FE Exchange is lots of fun! If you have any questions, I'll be happy to answer them and I'm sure others will chime in too. :thumbsup2

Hi there. So excited that you are joining us. Fish Extenders are so much fun. You sign up and you will be given a list of other staterooms ( normally 10 to 20) you make or get a gift for those staterooms and they get something for yours. It can be a stateroom gift for everyone or it can be individual gifts. It really depends on what you want to do. Just have fun with it and don't stress. I know I stressed out over my first cruise because I had so many ideas! It was great but really stressed me out and I ended up not enjoying the experience. Anyway, You can have a Fish Extener ( a pocketed thing that hangs from the little fish outside your stateroom door. My first cruise my friend I was traveling with was in a wheelchair. We were on the Wonder and the stateroom was perfect for her. Nice roll in shower and the room was larger so there was plenty of room. We had a verandah and it was huge. She spent a lot of time out there. The only problem she really had was the elevators. We were on the 8th floor and the elevator was normally always full by the time it got to us. We would have to go the opposite direct sometime and others I would take the stairs. I remember once having to wait for 5 elevators and almost missing the fireworks on Pirate night. When I went with my parents in 11 I found that the front and back elevators were the best and the center ones are normally always busy! Also make sure to look into some stateroom door magnets! You can have them personalized and then print them out and add some magnets to the back and put them on your stateroom door. It makes your stateroom easier to find and is a lot of fun!

Welcome Quinleygirl!! It seems that we have a lot of first timers! It is going to be a lot of fun!!

Welcome Japeky9299!! The FE exchange is a lot of fun! What happens is you sign up and you will get a list of stateroom ( depending on the number of people that sign up it might be around 10 to 20 staterooms in each group) you get a gift of some sort for those on your list. It can be an individual or stateroom gift and whatever you would like. Just have fun with it! You deliver them to that staterooms on the list and leave it in the "fish extender - a little pockets back on the little fish just outside their door) and they do the same to you. It is a lot of fun but being a first time cruiser I would say not to stress to much over it. There are lots of great ideas jut have fun with it! f

Welcome Mum2fourkids! The ship should be decorated for Christmas as they start fright after Halloween with decorating and from the photos I've seen from trip report and such of last years cruise at this time they were 100% decorated!

Thank you for the tip. We re staying in a concierge suite, can we still do the FE and I was told those doors aren't metal do you know if we can still decorate them?

Absolutely! I've had concierge rooms on each and ever cruise. Everyone will just drop your FE gifts off at Guest Services and they will take them to your suite and leave them for you! :)

As for decorating the doors, I don't believe that you can because they are wood but you know you might look at doing some window clings or something on the windows if you want to decorate for kids or something :) Just check with you Concierge contact to make sure it would be ok
