A rabbi, a priest, and a pastor board the Wonder: we're back!

I'll be back to reply but wanted show my pirates night dress. The kids cannot stop laughing. My hair is a wreck but that's what 8 hours at work and a two our board meeting after will do to you. ;)

Honest opinions please. I had to add the tank top because it was cleavage city.

Can you see it now? I can. :goodvibes

I think it's really cute!

:goodvibes Thanks Alison. I'm wondering how dressed up and into folks get? I've read that some wear pirate garb to the MDR? It makes sense and sounds like fun. I don't want to over do it but want to wear more than a bandana with normal clothes.

I'm glad Joshua and I are taking this cruise NOW as I could barely get him to try on his costume last night. Parts of it he won't touch like the beard. :duck: :rotfl2: I aim high so I'm not disappointed when he'll wear just the sash, jacket, head scarf, and sword. ;) He's 12, almost in the 8th grade, and far more cool than I seem to understand. LOL!

I knew you were zeroing in on the big day but couldn't remember how close you actually were. Woo Hoo! 18 days is Nothing, nada, zilch. It will be here before you know it! :cool1::cool1::cool1:

And congrats on scoring the super secret awesome verandah!

Thanks! :woohoo: I'm pretty stoked. I've been looking for pics but have only found a few.

No, he won't. The deck above is fine. You can have the streamers to wave around, Eric liked that a lot the first time (second time I think they all took off for mini golf lol) and you can be holding your drink of the day and all will be well with the world.

:goodvibes Sounds perfect. I could barely get him to try on his pirate costume so I'm doubting he'll touch a streamer. We're on the cusp of puberty. :scared: I know what girl puberty looks like having been a girl some 30 years ago :rotfl2: and have gone through it with G and C but boy puberty. Totally foreign.

I like your way of thinking! :)

Thank you! :) She won't get in until 9 pm, so will have to celebrate another day. But it will still be nice to see her. I will NOT get sick :wizard:

Yes, it's only on the Dream and Fantasy. From what I understand it's a Victoria and Alberts kind of experience. Lots of small courses. I've heard only amazing things. I wouldn't say better than Palo, just different, and $75 instead of $25.

I was just thinking about it today, I can't wait to relax in the saunas

I honestly don't know if you can get both, you used to be able to but I'm not sure if they've stopped people from doing that.

Cozumel has some fabulous jewelry from those little vendors.

It's going to be fun, I'm just laughing at the thought :rotfl:

I say that kind of thing all the time, I think it's from growing up with the Ninja Turtles :rolleyes1

That's how I feel too!

I love the jewelry vendors and even have pesos to spend. In Zihua we found a little silver shop that had great finds. We bought Gabby two pairs of earrings and she loved them.

I'll have to investigate the FP thing. I know if you hop your FP+ are only good for the one park you choose so I'd have to think you could get paper FP if you park hop that day? :confused3 I need a FP 101........oh Cynthia.......

Hope your moms flight was on time and all went well with the pick up. :goodvibes

Super cute! I love it! It's perfect.

And what are you doing up so early? :rotfl:

Insomnia. I suffer with it. It's the worst. :sad2: Even with a sleep aid, sometimes I get 7 hours and sometimes I get 4. This is a 4 night. It totally stinks. I've tried yoga, I drink no caffeine, decaf, and limit sugar after noon but nothing seems to really make an impact.

Glad you like the dress. I am truly clueless with what to wear. I wanted comfortable but piratey. It was a little ****ty before I added the tank top underneath. :lmao: I'm thinking flip flops and a small black cardigan for during dinner. Do most people wear their pirate stuff to the MDR?

I deconstructed it so it would post. Just smash the address all together. ;)

There's a diff link with a few photos of the secret verandah rooms. :goodvibes I can see thought how Disney can't change for a full verandah; they've got an obvious obstruction.

I really like the dress!

As for insomnia, I've suffered from it for years. I was taking Ambien every night and that wasn't working anymore. I started getting acupuncture a year or so ago, and it made a huge difference! It's so nice to sleep!

Acupunture it is. I'm going to try it. :thumbsup2 My body metabolizes sleep aids too quickly according to my PCP so what should last 7-8 hours, lasts 4-5 for me. :headache: Insomnia is truly a curse.

Thanks, I like the dress too. Might have to buy some Spanx though. :rotfl2: After days and days of indulging, I'm going to need a little tummy help. ;) Now to decide on shoes. I'm thinking my old stand by: flip flops.

I've never been in the MDR on Pirate night. We always go to Palo because the menu doesnt appeal to me. Also Fran hasn't been able to put together a costume. If she can't do it right she doesn't want to do it.

However, from looking at the pictures from Pirate night, it looks like folks wear the costumes all night and really get into it. I would bring all the components for Joshua's costume, he might see how into it everyone gets and want to put on more as the evening goes on. I've seen some great costumes.

Your pirate garb looks great! Yes, people wear outfits to the MDR. The CMs are all dressed up too.

::yes:: CrAzY! :cool1:

Did you get a message for the Mixology Meet? They're looking at the first sea day. Started a poll to choose 1:00, 2:00, 3:00, or 4:00. I chose 4:00. Monsters U is playing that day at 2:00 and its the only movie Joshua wants to see. It's only playing twice the whole cruise. The other time MU is playing is at 8:30 am another day which I know we won't make. :rotfl:

Too fun! I'm glad people get into it. Thank you! I gave Joshua my sword and headband. The hat I got him is way too small with his big noggin of boy band hair. Will you dress up?

I can handle a so-so costume as long as it fits okay. Have you dressed up for pirate night? Fran's creative (Billy Bass); it surprises me she can't come up with a great costume.

I'm going to bring it all even the small hat and give the hat away. Hopefully he'll meet some other cool 12 y/o's who will dress up. I hate that he's entering that peer pressure phase. :crazy2: So tough to navigate as a kid.

I know, right!!!!   And I don't even like bananas unless they're covered in chocolate. :lmao:

I love your pirate outfit!

People dress up for dinner for sure, some REALLY dress up! You will look great.

Kids are so funny. I barely packed anything costume wise on the last cruise and then Evan wanted to see if he could get a pirate makeover and buy some extra costume stuff on the ship. Hard to predict. JUST entering puberty? UGH. I have 2. At once. Not fun.

I'll have to investigate the FP thing. I know if you hop your FP+ are only good for the one park you choose so I'd have to think you could get paper FP if you park hop that day? :confused3 I need a FP 101........oh Cynthia.......

Nope. Paper FP is gonzo. Totally.

What we did was use FP+ for afternoon evening rides and did rope drop or close to for morning stuff if we wanted to hop. Worked out fabulously for us.

What about something that is a lot more cardio than yoga? Bike, elliptical, treadmill, run, whatever? I find that helps me. Or more accurately helps make my body and brain tired enough to stop thinking. Add a hot bath after that and :thumbsup2

I've been following this for a little while now, but mostly just lurking. Love the Pirate Night outfit and can't wait to hear all about your trip and see tons of pics!! You guys are going to have so much fun!

I guess he's been entering for a year or so now but I'm just seeing the teenage personality changes recently. :crazy2: He's a great kid. I didn't realize we get a bandana on board? That's cool. I'm going to place my bets now that that is what he wears.

The dress was so cheap on some costume site after Halloween. Both together, if I remember correctly were under $25 and his comes with all sorts of stuff.

No paper FP? So no FP except for the 3 in the park you choose for that day?

I'm going to pick your brain when it comes to planning WDW with FP+. Your plans sounds perfect. Love late afternoon FPs. :thumbsup2

I use to do lots more typical cardio and actually the hot yoga has a lot of cardio. I never feel like passing out more than when I'm doing the Warrior pose. Ever. My heart rate flies during the standing poses. But you're right, some thing more consistently cardio would maybe help. I've always been a poor sleeper but its gotten worse as I've aged.

:welcome: and hi. Thanks for jointing in. Thank you, I really like the dress. It's simple and light so it won't take up much room. My SIL has full pirate regalia but I can't imagine packing it.

Yeah, they are like split personalities at this age :rotfl: I have a love/hate relationship with both of them. Ok, hate is a little strong but oh my, the attitude can be brutal at times.

And then they are my sweet loving fun boys.

And then not.

:scared1:

I didn't realize we get a bandana on board? That's cool. I'm going to place my bets now that that is what he wears.

That is what the boys wore, both times. We also got stuff in our FE that they used, temporary tatoos, eyepatch, earring I think.

The bandannas are SMALL so just be aware that they work great on small heads but can be tricky to tie otherwise. Which is why mine usually ended up around my wrist.

No paper FP? So no FP except for the 3 in the park you choose for that day?

Yep

What I found, for me, is that the cardio from pilates, which there definitely is some, still doesn't do the endorphin release that 30-40 minutes of non stop cardio does. In some ways endurance trumping intensity. It certainly stretches me out more so my body is a bit more relaxed than after a run or the elliptical but my brain is still going pretty darn strong. It is hard to fit in the nighttime workouts but I really believe they help with my sleep.
