YES, touring Cinderella’s Dream Suite was Amazing!+14 Other Magical Days* Dismeet & Wrap

Hi Brenda!! Just returned home from Disney and catching up on your TR!

So funny that you saw the mystic seer fortune telling box because I just saw it for the first time a few nights ago as well! I took a picture of it and it's buried somewhere in my camera's memory cards but I'll try to find it! :goodvibes

Looks like it was a great night for a walk. I just love the parks at night! Tower of Terror would have been my first choice also.

Out of curiousity, how long does the walk from the Boardwalk to Hollywood Studios take?

Your bend and snap photo is too funny!

Wow, thanks for the great photos. The walkway from Boardwalk to HS is so nice at night. Is there any ride better themed than ToT. I don't think so.

You are very welcome! Thanks for liking them! I have more than a few photos from that walk between the Epcot resorts and DHS!

True dat! (my street talk there)

Oooh - what a fun night! I loved all of the photos!

There is just something so special about the parks at night, it is my favorite time to be there!

A little unrelated - One thing I didn't realize before someone mentioned it recently (I think it was Nini)... During our March 2012 trip, we did two evenings in AK - when it was dark. It never occured to me at the time, but how RARE is it to be in AK in the dark? It's quite rare that their hours are late enough and it gets dark early enough. There was no way to see it in the dark on our Aug trip... The other parks - it's fairly easy to do... But I thought it was an interesting tid-bit. :thumbsup2

I just love being in the parks at night - the atmosphere is so awesome and all of the lights make it feel like Christmas.

How awesome that you were able to ride ToT at night (did it once, no thank you for twice)...

D~

Very good point D~! I landed on that same realization not too long ago when I read Nermal9 (Jen's) AK update here and thought whoa! I've never seen AK after dark! Now I really want to but that means another winter trip during a busier time for extended park hours.

I love the feeling of my stomach dropping, you don't? :rolleyes2 I suppose I should be glad that not everyone likes is to the wait times don't get like TSMM.

The beach club looks so pretty at night. Can't blame you for pausing to take pics.

I think I may have to put riding on the Tot at night on my disney bucket list. It looks so cool at night.

The Mystic Seer machine could possibly be the original from the show. Mr. Drewsky informed me the imagineers were able to put quite a few original props from the show in the library.

I love the late night hours at the parks!

Oh, that would be so fun if that was an original prop! William Shatner would have touched it! A few days later when we were on the ride I asked one of the CM about it and they had no clue what it was. Oh well.

Even though the PP pictures are a little shoddy :confused3 ...you're pictures are great! That first photo is particularly beautiful, I think!

Thanks Emily! There were a few PP pics that were blurry. I'd never had that happen before so it was odd. At least there were only a few.

Love the night photos it reminds me of Las Vegas at night where I grew up! nastalga gets you every time

Hi Trish! Thanks! I'm a Vegas lover for certain. In fact, that's one of the reasons I like it - all the pretty lights. I'll be there in a few weeks. Business, not too much pleasure!)

I love all your studios pictures! It;s my favorite night time park, it's just so stunning!

Kudos to Em for looking at the items in the library (I've spotted that item many times, he's actually in both libraries). My fiance and dad always laugh at me because I don't watch the pre-show anymore. I'm too busy looking at all the neat stuff in there. We once spotted some books written in the alien language used in To Serve Man. And I spotted the most beautiful antique vase up above that had ornate beading on it.

Thank you! DHS is one of my favorite parks anyway but at night it's so perfect.

Oh my gosh!! The "To Serve Man" episode was so great! Very cheesy with the mind reading and all and at the end oh the drama when it was revealed their true intentions! Now you have me on a mission to find other relics of the show. I'm going to have to see if the CA version has some of the same things. Thanks for sharing that intel! :thumbsup2

Great update! :goodvibes

Thanks wii!! :)

loved all the night photos! Where was that Monsters U topiary at along your walk? I've had some PP from HS turn out that way at night, maybe it's the lighting? I think I've also had a few duds during the day as well. Maybe it's the photographers! Your pictures are always great.

The Monsters U topiary is out front where they used to have the Sorcerer Mickey and the brooms. Here's a visual. Of course, we are in it!

Brenda, what a fun evening at the Studios with Mr. DDW. Don't worry...Mark is ALWAYS behind me.

I love the photos on the TOT and Rock & Roll. We must do some rides together the next time we are there at the same time.

Ha ha! Is Mark behind you on purpose?

I would LOVE to ride a few rides with you. You pick and I'm there. In fact, the morning of breakfast I think this may work out! ;)

I love your pink skirt Brenda! :thumbsup2 How fun to sneak into DHS for awhile. Tower of Terror would have to be my first ride as well. Good choice!

Hi Kelli! Well, thank you, I like pink better on other people but I do like the color.

I HAD to go on ToT. My all-time favorite! :thumbsup2

Those photopass pictures..... Errrr awesome? I really love Disney at night - it's so gorgeous! I really enjoy the time they take to light everything :)

You are so cute in pink, I knew were becoming new BFF's for a reason. :goodvibes

Well, you cinched it, I'm convinced more than ever that I need to try GFcafe, even if it's to see how awful it can be, but out of pocket. :rotfl:
I've wanted to try it for a while now, but just keep seeing lack luster reviews. I am wanting to try that burger though! I'm a sucker for a good burger, not just any burger but a good one.
Lucky for me the new In and Out will be down the street from me here in a few more months, I'll never be tempted other than by their fries. :rotfl:

I know, I know, that's sacrilege to say something like, especially to a southern Californian. :rotfl: Just ask my hubby.

I do however love their prices, can't beat In and Out prices. :thumbsup2

Can't wait to see more pics of your night life in MGM studios. :upsidedow

Hey there Camille! Can you believe I never wore pink until a few years ago? Not that it looks good on a ginger but I like it because it is bold and fun! Whenever we eventually meet up I'll be sure to be decked out in pink - just so you recognize me!!

Have you had breakfast at G Flo Café? That is one of my favorite breakfasts at WDW - next to Kona. We had a good dinner at GFC last summer so I do like other meals there. My DH also ordered that burger last summer and really liked it. In fact, if you have any free time you can read my DR from last summer at GFC here.

Now that you mention In/Out, I am a big fan of their fresh and tasty burgers (raw onion please) but not a fan of the fries. I'm in the minority I know! Even though we have In/Out all over, I don't go often. It's our road trip food when we go to Vegas more than anything because they have one half way between our house and Vegas.

Ha ha ha! MGM Studios!! :lmao: The rest of the evening coming up.

Oooh, you have entered a favorite park for rides. Beautiful night photos in DHS!! Can't wait to read more of your adventures.

Hi Linda! And for another DHS lover, the final part coming up shortly! :)

Loving the cruise style photos - too funny :rotfl2: BTW you can easily pass for sisters!!!

What a fun evening you're having, I think your photos are lovely :)

Thanks Jo! You are too sweet! We certainly enjoyed our evening. :)

great pictures - I agree that yours are way better than the photopass ones

There are so many neat things in the TOT - even just as you are pulling back to the elevator entrance/exit at the end of the ride, if you look off to the right (the way your car came from) there are a bunch of neat artifacts there too - saw this weird, creepy doll the last time we went

Thanks Phil! I'm glad you mentioned those props. Em's pointed them out but I've never really paid attention. I need to check them out next time. I'm sure they all have some significance.

Great photos! One of our favourite "nighttime" rides is ToT! Nothing like walking around DHS at night!

Thank you Jacquie. I love the view from the drop window at night. It's a whole different perspective!

Hi Brenda!! Just returned home from Disney and catching up on your TR!

So funny that you saw the mystic seer fortune telling box because I just saw it for the first time a few nights ago as well! I took a picture of it and it's buried somewhere in my camera's memory cards but I'll try to find it! :goodvibes

Welcome back Dave! I've seen your preview photos and they are amazing. I hope you don't mind me giving you a shout out here for the MOST AMAZING photo of the castle with Hallowishes fireworks here. Stunning!

What a coincidence! I want to see your photo since mine was jacked up from having to move on out of the room so quickly. (That and I have no clue how to use a camera like you!)

Looks like it was a great night for a walk. I just love the parks at night! Tower of Terror would have been my first choice also.

Out of curiousity, how long does the walk from the Boardwalk to Hollywood Studios take?

Your bend and snap photo is too funny!

Hi Annie! That park at night is particularly fabulous. It's about a 15 minute walk from the Epcot resorts to DHS. I would rather walk than take the boat.

I'm glad you liked our bend and snap! ;)

Those photopass pictures..... Errrr awesome? I really love Disney at night - it's so gorgeous! I really enjoy the time they take to light everything :)

Thanks Sarah! I especially like the hat with the twinkly lights. Of course the billboard type signs all lit up on Hollywood and Sunset Blvds are pretty awesome too!

Hey there Camille! Can you believe I never wore pink until a few years ago? Not that it looks good on a ginger but I like it because it is bold and fun! Whenever we eventually meet up I'll be sure to be decked in pink - just so you recognize me!!

You should keep wearing it, it's so cute on you. :lovestruc

I've never been to GF to eat other than to eat at 1900 Park Fare (previous trips) and to have Tea this last trip. Mackie really loved the tea, which kind of surprised me :goodvibes
Would you believe I've never had breakfast at Kona?!? It really should be on our list for our next trip. I usually prefer the buffets because I can get some really healthy choices along with a few bad one's mixed in. :goodvibes I don't feel so bad about the bad stuff as long as I can mix in a lot of the healthy along with it.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not against having one of their burgers every once in a while, they just aren't a big draw like their fries are. ::yes:: :lovestruc We have a place called P. Terry's out here and they have pretty good burgers, but not as good as the burgers they use to have at our Whole Foods down town, that is before they removed the grill. :worried: <wiping drool of chin> Some idiot at Corp. decided they should have some other type of food station, even though the grill was probably one of the most popular stations in all of Whole Foods, at least you could count on a good burger or a chicken sandwich that wasn't full of hormones and other junk. And their fries, don't even get me started. :cloud9: It was a good darn thing they were downtown and not near my house.

Ha ha ha! MGM Studios!! :lmao: The rest of the evening coming up.

Can't wait. :goodvibes

Can't wait. :goodvibes

Awww thank you!

I like your buffet logic. Makes sense to me! Just enough healthy to feel good and just enough cheats to declare, "I'm on vacation!"

Burgers at Whole Foods? :confused3 Never heard of that. I believe we've had sandwiches but not a grille. Brilliant idea if you ask me!

Monday August 19, 2013: Day 4, Part 5

A quick update to finish off our evening. I'm short on words this late at night but not light on photos!

So.. we were enjoying EMH at DHS.

It was nearly midnight and we had time for one more ride and it happened to be The Great Movie Ride with the gangster scene of course. Give me some bank robberies people!!

DSCN4768.jpg

It was after park close by the time we exited… not much we could do but comply and move along. I had to give Bo some attention before we left.

DSCN4776.jpg

We said our good-byes to Mr. DDW and hope that perhaps another meet up is in our future! Em and I took the bus back to AKL. We were seated next to two young ladies that were cousins who were very friendly and chatty. One of them was a DVC owner – at 21!! I was impressed.

Nothing newsworthy happened the rest of the evening unless you call watching Conan interesting. We were nodding off by 1:30am.

We're finally through Day 4 folks!

It sounds like you had a great night... Whoa! To bed at 1:30... I hope you were sleeping in? LOL

Oh no... I love ToT... I just have issues riding it at night... It's totally different then. Give me daylight please. :thumbsup2

D~

It looks like you all had a fun evening!

Bo always looks so happy to see you. ::yes::

Hope you and Em have a Happy Halloween!

I love nighttime in the parks. Plus, as an adult, I'm never out that late so it seems special to be out late.

Great ride photos! Nighttime give all the rides a new perspective.

Christine

I like the Great Movie Ride but some day I have to get the cowboy scene! I have yet to.
Love the pics throughout the ride! And especially your last pose with Bo. pixiedust:

Photopass photogs!! Come now, you have everything you need for good photos.

That kid behind Mr. DDW on tower. Nice. Cute photos on aerosmith's coaster too!

Ah, the great movie ride. I love that one. I'm such a nerd, it just never gets old for me. Also, those size 8 ruby slippers...wanna share? :)

PS, I miss the angry bear. I could use one of those super lemon cupcakes, aka the greatest suggestion ever!

Soooo, how did I fall an update behind?????? Oh well, just more to read!!! :)

Haha, for some reason, even though I stop for tons of photos, I still always end up ahead of everyone else. Disney gives me wings I guess.

Hmmm, I'm not sure "free" and "Disney" will ever really go together, but it's a nice thought.

Photopass really seems to be hit or miss. I've seen some wonderful photos and also some less than wonderful photos. I really thought about it for the next trip, but decided to just get the Attractions+ again.

Isn't there just something extra magical about the parks at night? This is why I refuse the whole "half day" park argument. All the parks are an entirely different experience in the day and the night.

It's in the night especially that I am content with just wandering and observing these beautiful Disney parks. Yeah, I like the rides too, but there's just something so peaceful about the parks at night, even if it's crowded.

I am absolutely requesting the Western version of the Great Movie Ride next time. Why is it so hard to get!!?? Somehow they must recognize someone as a Diser as automatically put them in the Gangster car. :confused3

I think it's so great that you have your traditional Bo photo. Now if they'd just put a Stacey out in the parks somewhere... :p

I love that walk between the Boardwalk and DHS! Your photos are great!
Ahh, the GMR never gets old! Such a must-do! Love the photo of you and Bo-- especially your pink purse! Too cute!

After years and years and more boring years of having the gangster scene in the GMR we struck gold. We were in the park late afternoon for dinner and had time to kill so we decided to hit the GMR. I asked the CM positioned in the doorway that goes to the theater room (is that it's name? that's what I call it :confused3) if they were running both sides. She said they were and to just ask when we got down further.

We ended up having to ask a few different CMs but sure enough we got the bank robbery.

It was like watching a beautiful sunset, like sleeping on clean sheets, like having your husband bring you diamonds. It was a little treat that my mother and I were so grateful for. :thumbsup2

So next time you go, ask for it until they get tired of hearing you ask for it.
