:scared1: I thought it was the 11th? I didn't realize that there were two different registration dates. I'm moving this over to the main forum now.

Great!
So that's DE, PA, NJ, CT, NH and VA. :cheer2:

We need someone from Maryland.

Here are the states being represented (so far)
DE, MD, PA, NJ, CT, NH, VA and FL.

We need someone from NY, then ALL the Mid-Atlantic states would be represented.

I so wish I could be there...I'm only 5 hours from Newark, but......I just paid for new windows in my house, bought a new car and booked a trip to WDW...I've been trying to figure out how I could do it......it's just not in the cards this year.

I wish you all a great time...I'll be there in spirit.

So excited, got my ticket for Saturday's event. Does anyone know what time the podcast happens? Oh and bringing 2 others. If we have items to donate, who do we get them to? Thanks!

James and I are going to work on the schedule this weekend. Bring donated items for the swap meet to the event on Saturday. If the items are for the auction PM me.

Oh, I have to look for some stuff to donate. We donated a ton of stuff for the NJ meet recently. I'm sure I've got some stuff for this one too. I'll let you know.

If you need a room and haven't booked yet, today is that last day to get the group rate at Embassy Suites! Details in first post :thumbsup2

I've never been to a swap meet before. What sorts of things are you looking for? I've got (non-Disney) wine glass charms and coasters that I know I'll never use, but I don't want to treat the event as an alternative to Goodwill.

I'm sure I can come up with other things to donate, if I'm more comfortable with what sorts of things are appropriate.

Looking forward to the weekend, and spending money for GKTW. :cool1:

Crap! I've had a very insane week and didn't reserve my hotel room in time. Will I have an issue getting our rate?

Looks like the pay-in-advance option is about the same price... but I would give them a call, maybe they can extend it a little bit? Good luck!

Just wondering if anyone here plays Disney Infinity. I would love to do some Power Disc trading if there are any players attending the meet. Please let me know, and I'll bring my discs! :thumbsup2

Just to let you know, we had a delivery of several boxes of Disney & Non-Disney items donated to the cause last night.

Photos of the donated items to be uploaded tonight or tomorrow.
Some of them are REALLY nice.

We've also had another sweet success.

SAS (Sweet & Sassy) Cupcakes of Newark donated a huge lollipop & a gift card for a dozen cupcakes. And, these are NOT your mother's cupcakes; these are gourmet cupcakes.

They are located near Caffe Gelato, about a block or two down Main St. from Klondike Kate's & the Iron Hill Brewery.

When I mentioned that a large group of us would be converging on Main St on Saturday night, she welcomed us to come on in & visit!

So, if you can't get enough gelato from Caffe Gelatto's wonderful catering on Saturday, and you can still walk after a dinner & drinks at the Iron Hill Brewery, they'll be open until 9PM, and they will open at 10AM on Sunday.

You have to pass them on the way out from Klondike Kate's anyway....

Kathy, all,

The idea of the swap meet was for people to bring ANYTHING, Disney or not, that they just didn't want anymore, with the proceeds going to GKTW.

You can either tag everything with a selling price, or "best offer", and then when buyers come upstairs, they can pick it up, purchase it at the tagged price, or make a reasonable offer on an untagged item, and all of the cash / credit card purchases go to GKTW.

So, yes, it is an alternative to Goodwill, but with the added twist that for the Disney stuff, you might have a better audience.

All untagged items left over at the end will be donated to Salvation Army.
If the original owner wants their tagged items back, they can retrieve them, otherwise those too will go to Salvation Army.

If you have items of value that you would rather get a tax write-off, you would be better off holding it for the next local DIS meet. We have already filled our three auction types.

James

The new registration deadline is Oct 16!

We have 35 people coming right now for the Saturday event. I would love to see 50! That's only 15 more people. Come on I know that we can get 15 more people to register by the Oct. 16. :cheer2:
