I've been waiting to hear about the Disney Visa offers for 2014. I am a card holder and have not heard from them. What number did you call to contact them?

Just call the regular WDW number and ask them to apply the Disney Visa discount to your reservation. I dont know if/when Chase contacts people. It is always on the dis first. :goodvibes

VWL: Hidden Springs Pool & Spa will be closed for refurbishment from October 14 through November 15.

I wonder why? I just looked at it the other night and it wasn't listed as a refurb
:confused3

Wow. 35% is a great discount! When we went last Feb the Disney Visa discount for WL was only 20 or 25% off.

I think 35% off is fantastic! I might have skipped the dining plan and just did room only had it been an option for next month. :)
.

Yep I was thrilled with 35%!! One of the earlier rumors showed WL with 25% so that extra couple hundred dollars was the tipping point for me. All of my dining plans were set up around WL so I am glad it all worked out. :thumbsup2

I got an email this morning that my MB shipped!!!

and look!!!!!!! They are here. They sent them overnight!

Soo pretty! :goodvibes. DH wants green and I am debating between red or orange. Another decision to make! :rotfl2:

Only a guess, but maybe they moved up the original rehab date due to the impending fence installation at the feature pool. Perhaps this means that the WL pool fence will be installed after the rehab of the VWL pool, around mid-November and they want to make sure at least one pool is open. I have no information to base any of this on though and it could just be that the rehab was originally scheduled at that time.

means no late night pool dips on Nov 1 :sad2:

No. We did consider booking the BB, but one thing I know for sure is that we can't plan to travel in September of 2014 like we did this year. DD16 is a sharp cookie (takes after her mom) and is taking college AP classes as a junior in high school. She did fine and kept up OK with school work, but being a conscientious young lady it did freak her out a tad to miss three days of school. DS13 is facing increasingly rigorous demands at school too.

Since September is out of the question, that left late August. We in the Doodah clan are all delicate flowers and we might wilt if we found ourselves at WDW in August. :scared:;)

At this point I am willing to bide my time and wait for a late fall 2014 free dining or deep room discount -something that hopefully matches up with the school calendar.

Although I am in the early stages of organizing a Give Kids the World service trip for a group in my church, so I just may wind up back at WDW for a quick visit this coming summer.

Good for your DD!!!!! The Junior year of h.s. is by far the toughest and the AP classes take up soooo much of their time. Miss one day and it could break you. Both of my kids took AP US History (fondly known as APUSH) in their junior year and it taught them both alot about themselves (dedication, determination, organization) that carried with my DD now a junior in college and DS now a senior in hs.

Best of luck to your DD! Sounds like a WL trip may be just what she needs when she passes that AP exam!!!:woohoo:

Mine were delivered at 9:37am!! And I'm stuck at work!! I want to play with mine too!! :yay:

My ship notification email was dated this morning, 2am. Less than ten hours later, they are sitting lonely on our front step! Argh! :crazy2:

Funny thing, I got the USPS MB invite last night, too late to have personalized my MBs!

AH!! I was smart and used my office as my shipping address!!! :cool1:

We love WL and next Thanksgiving will be the last time we can stay in a regular room before our youngest turns 3. We have 3 boys who will be 8,6, and 2 at the time. Our big debate is do we do a bunk bed room (kids are dying to stay one one), rent points for a one bedroom or save money and rent a studio. What are your thoughts/opinions

I really hope that the feature pool is not closed during my stay mid-November! One of the reasons we picked the WL was because of the pretty pool area. I think that pool closings should have to be posted at least 3 months out so that people can decide if they want to change resorts and not have to do it with less than a month's notice. :(

I guess it all depends on what you want to do. If you really want to save money then the studio would be the way to go, although it would be the least "fun" of all the choices. If I could get a one bedroom villa for the price of a bunk bed room then that would be really nice. But the boys would have a ball in the bunk beds and a bunk bed room would give you more space than a regular room would. So it is all up to you. :goodvibes

Yay!! I am back. I had switched to Coronado Springs for a bit, but found out there is a huge convention there my week AND the Disney Visa offer came out today and I got 35% off a Woods View room!!! :cool1::woohoo::yay::dance3: So 127 days until I am at the Lodge!! And the discount will stop my resort changing ways, I think. :goodvibes
That's great news!

Okay question for you all. Last year we stayed at aoa loved it. Booked there this year. Disney visa came out had to switch to por. Was thinking about staying at wilderness lodge. Is the recommended? We have 3 adults and 1 child 1 infant. Most if our time will be at magic kingdom half day at each of the other parks. Thanks
Welcome! WL would be perfect for spending half-days at MK and there is so much for your kids to see and do at WL, FW and CR. It's easy to get to the MK and you can choose from a non-stop bus or boat. However, without a daybed, one of the adults would have to either sleep with the child or you could get bunk beds and one adult could sleep in a bunk.

I completely understand. DD14 is in AP World History and Honors courses and there is a lot of work so the days of missing even one day are over.

December Break is good for both delicate flowers and AP participants, though admittedly, not great for prices. Spring Break is also still beautiful weather and lower crowds and prices Vs. Christmastime. Have you considered those times?

How nice of you to organize a GKTW trip for your church. I hope that means another trip for you in the summer:)

I'll have to tell DD she has APUSH next after...APWH...But, I might get that look:rolleyes2

Speaking of Seniors, do you have a graduation trip planned yet?:scratchin

Welcome! I would book the bunk. I have to be able to make changes to my reservation, have complete control over the reservation and daily housekeeping (it's vacation!), so renting is out, for me at least. Do you have to have a kitchen? If not, I would book the bunk. Your kids really want one and it would be your last chance so I think it's an easy decision - for me.

Just switched from POFQ to WL yesterday with visa deal! So happppy! Glad to be close to MK got 3 days there. Booked standard maybe get an upgrade??? Can't wait til January!

Was so excited to finally make our room reservations yesterday WITH a great discount!!!

Now it feels real :cool1:

Hello all, four family trip staying at the lodge for the first time this Nov, 9th-17th! All booked in standard rooms. Really no interest in upgrading to Woods or Courtyard. Looking for help on room location request. We would like to be close to the lobby/bus and perhaps on the North side to be closer to Roaring Forks. No interest in a fireworks view.

I was thinking of requesting "high floor, opening to lobby if possible, north side of building preferred". I have not reviewed the room type maps so this may be contradictory or impossible. Any advice would be great!

Take a look at the map on the first page of this thread to show you the options, but while doing so keep in mind that upgrades do happen, so booking Standard doesn't completely limit you to the standard view rooms. For the open to lobby rooms it doesn't make much difference which side you are on for the distance to Roaring fork since the lobby is narrower than the distance between the rest of the wings. Our favorite request is: open to lobby, high floor. We have really enjoyed our rooms on the South side of the lobby above the registration desk. Happy planning and enjoy your trip.

Do the beds have underneath storage at the lodge? I can't remember!

They do not, at least we couldn't figure out how to store anything under there.

Made our finaly payment last night :yay::yay: Can't wait till next month for our stay.
Woo hoo! It is getting closer, and will be here before long.

Thoughts on WL room? Heading down in Feb with my 4 yo and looking for a room with potential view of MK/Fireworks? Any thoughts on room location/view?
