Beautiful Savannah view! I hope the loud kids / family check out in the morning.
Did the wet floor dry up? Did you change rooms? I have so many questions.
I am sure dinner was fabulous. Denny's BD dinner is there in October. I probably told you that already, only because I'm very excited to be staying there AND eating there! I just wish I was staying CL, but I am sure our 2 BR villa will be awesome.
Nice dessert offerings. Can't blame you at all for passing on dessert.
How fun to meet Chef Jon!
Hi Mary Ellen! Well...we ditched the room so I'll never know. And no, the wet carpeting did not get resolved. Stay tuned....
Dinner was wonderful. I hope you guys like it. It is definitely a great choice for a special occasion.
Assuming with a 2 bedroom either you want your space or you are bunking with friends. ha ha! Either way, I would agree, a 2 bedroom is pretty awesome!
Oh dear... That's just not a magical check in at all. I hope the family next door quiets down and the wet floor is promptly addressed! Other than that though, wow what a gorgeous room and view! And I love love love the lc lounge too! Gorgeous.
Jiko looks great, how cool that you got to meet Chef Jon!

I should have told our rowdy neighbors to simmer down! yeah... that wet floor didn't really get attention...But yes, AKL is still very much a favorite of ours.
It's definitely a nice touch to send Chef Jon around.
What a gorgeous room Brenda! I love your view... I didn't mention the "lovely" neighbors we had at the beginning of our stay - but they sure can make a relaxing trip much more "not" relaxing, can't they? Sigh. I hope your new room is much better.
Your meal looks delicious - and how awesome that you were able to meet Chef Jon!
Those desserts just jump on to your plate - at least they did for me! I hope you enjoyed them, at least.
D~
It was a pretty amazing view.
I honestly don't mind noise but this was crazy!
So funny.... yeah, I don't know what happened. Somehow those desserts forced their way onto my plate.
Where was the wet floor? Did they get that straightened out? I also hope the loud family moved out....
Can't wait for more TR! Thanks!
The carpet for the entire dressing area was wet. They said they would have maintenance come up but they didn't make it by the time we got back from dinner and at that point we were changing rooms so they may have taken the room out of inventory. Not sure... they didn't say.
Thanks for continuing to follow along!!
The savannah view makes for some gorgeous scenery!
Does Chef Jon visit every table? Is that something he does regularly?
Those club level snacks look delish! You'd have to roll me on to the plane home!
It was a pretty fabulous view.
Chef Jon was making the rounds for all the tables that night. I hadn't seen him do that on our prior visit but we haven't been there enough to know if he makes it out of the kitchen much.
Your view is lovely.
You and Em look gorgeous in your dresses. It looks like the little girl behind you is excited to be in an emmysmommy trip report. After all, you're famous too Brenda Disney!
Now I know how I can persuade the hubs to eventually book club level... liquor and desserts.
Hi Ashley! Ha ha! Yes, that little girl made a "guest" appearance. She was a cutie and we had said hi to her earlier. Brenda Disney!!
That's a pretty good incentive to use for your hubby! I'd go for it!
I am so baffled by the wet floor in your room.
I can relate beyond words can describe how you must have felt when your heard those people next door. We stayed at our DVC home OKW one year and the people in the one bedroom next to us had teenage daughters. And they stayed out until like 2am. And they were still WIDE AWAKE when they came back to the room. It took every ounce of me and my mother yelling at me to not knock on the door and tell them to pipe down.
Also they remind me of my upstairs neighbors now whom I curse daily, often times at 5am.
On a lighter note, I love that room. And the nice selection of products and chocolates they gave you.
Your story about the man at Jiko and the KTTW card reminds me of an experience we had there a few years ago. We had this crotchety man as our waiter and I tried everything to get him to loosen up and crack a smile. Nothing worked. He was so uppity and I was just sitting there cracking jokes every time he came to the table. I guess, unlike you, cruelty is a game I play,
Ugh! I fully expect some noise but come on... it was beyond crazy! Sounds like you've been there - are there!
I think this room had the most products that we received of any deluxe.
Oh man, how could your waiter resist all the cuteness?? This CL guy was just worried and took his job very seriously. He was actually very nice.
Ugh to the wet floor and proximity to THAT family. I have also been next door to them and it isn't always pretty. Playing with the hair dryer? Hopefully it gets resolved quickly.
Otherwise, the room is gorgeous. I just adore that resort. My only complaint is that it is a bus ride away from everything. Super picky, I know; I'm just spoiled by the walk to Epcot and DHS that Beach Club offers. That said, seriously considering AKL for a quick January trip... maybe even CL!
Ahh... Jiko. YUM.
We bailed on the room so not sure if the new room occupants were stuck with those noisy neighbors or not.
The resort is absolutely beautiful!! I know what you mean about not being able to walk to a park and a long bus ride from everything. It affected us not trying this resort for several years. However, the last two trips we solved that problem by booking a stay there for part of our trip to enjoy the resort, the restaurants, and AK park. Not sure we'll do this every time but if I had an unlimited budget and time to travel I definitely would.
Ahhhh Jiko love!!!
Sounds like a nice, relaxing evening at your resort! The wet floor realllly would have bugged me-- I hope that was sorted and you got to switch rooms the next day!
Hi Kylie! The floor only bugged me when I walked over there! Yeah... we did get a different room so that worked out ok.
Once you make your FP+ selections you can go in and change all of the times and or rides. Eight of us had MBs for our 12 day trip and never had one problem with them.
Thanks for that helpful info. That's great that you had good luck with your MBs.
Yup, I am definitely checking out AKL next time. Absolutely beautiful.
And that room really makes me wish I wasn't so darn cheap. I'll take mine without the loud kids next door and the wet floor though. That's a real shame and I really hope it gets worked out.
Aww that poor CM. I can just picture him all scared like. Good on you for not tormenting him.
But, I think I have to correct you. YOU are famous!
Hi Rob! Go and check it out. The lobby is gorgeous! But the highlight is the savanna look out outside where you view the animals. Oh my gosh!!!
Not cheap, just wise with your money my friend!! Yep, we worked out the noisy neighbors by ditching them. Stay tuned...
The CM guy was super helpful and just wanted to make sure that we didn't have any more issues because it had taken soooo long to check in and they didn't solve everything. He showed up at our room too to give us our permanent keys so we saw him around a few times and he kept apologizing. I wasn't worried or bothered so it was all good. Poor guy!
Ohhh pleeez! Thanks for the flower though!!
Beautiful savannah photos. You have a great view! Too bad the noisy neighbors have disturbed the peace. Maybe the Mousekeepers spilled their buckets of wash water. We had wet carpets at AoA in our suite. I just grabbed some towels and did the "So Happy to be Here" dance to dry it off.
Looks like a lovely time at Jiko.
Thanks, I think I have better photos of the savanna the next day - more animals and such.
Hmmmm perhaps but if that was cleaning water that would completely freak me out since that would be gross!! You my friend are a smart one!
Seeing your pictures of AKL got me so excited for our January trip! Which is just a measly 125 days away. It'll be our first stay at the Lodge. Aaaand, for our first dinner meal I have Jiko reserved.
Hi Dave! I definitely approve of your January plans!! Your kids will love the animals. They have a kids club there - Simba Club, as well.
What a great view from Club Level! And the room is gorgeous, I love the mirror and the comforter.
AND CHOCOLATE ANIMALS?! Oh man that's awesome.
Haha, that's so sweet about the CM. Disney rocks.
That is so awesome you got to meet the chef!!
Ahhh Courtney, it was a great view of the lobby. Did you see the hidden Mickey's in the comforter??
It's definitely the little things like the chocolates that thrill!
I wanted to bust out and give the CM a big hug and say, it's ok. We're all good!!
It was very nice once I knew who Chef Jon was otherwise I thought it was just a cook in the kitchen who wanted some positive feedback.
