GKTW Meet: Delaware DIS Meet, Nov. 1-3, 2013 - OCT. 18 last day for Registration!!!

Sounds good to us. We've been to the Iron Hill in Wilmington. Haven't hit either of the South Jersey locations yet.

If I'm remembering correctly, they brew their own root beer as well.

I was wondering about accepted forms of payment for the auctions. The auctions I've attended have been pretty much cash only. Since we have an actual auctioneer involved with the live auction, I thought it would be best to check on this well in advance of the big weekend.

While I don't know for sure about *this* auction, at the NJ and NE meets this year, checks were accepted... but then again, they weren't "live" auctions, so I don't know.

We will take checks and cash. James is working on being able to use credit cards at Saturday's event. You will have pay a fee (not sure the rate yet) if you want to use a credit card.

Question for everyone. Do you want me to start posting who is all coming to the events?

Sounds good to me! Should we start a list or something? If so, me + 1 :thumbsup2

I don't know Gillian- you know what happens when you have an idea.... ;)
Perhaps we should be telling you who is coming???

Seriously though- if you don't want o manage a list, I will.

hahaha :rotfl: OK, I will manage the list. So anyone who wants to join us at Iron Hill on Saturday night - let's say 7ish? - you can PM me :goodvibes

Don't forget that Nov 3 daylight savings time ends so we get an extra hour of sleep. :yay:

Newark is a college town which means that "The Rocky Horror Picture Show" will be playing on Saturday night. Just saying. :rolleyes1

WOW :scared1: - now THAT brings back memories from a L-O-N-G time ago- but I still remember how to do the Time Warp!!

November 2nd is my birthday...and I'm so excited!! Iron Hill is fantastic...GREAT choice!!

I've got 10 people on the list for Iron Hill Brewery on Saturday night so far! Please PM me if you'd like to join for dinner/drinks.

I am emailing back and forth with Embassy Suites about their free shuttle service, and whether or not they will drop off/pick up a group staying at the hotel (certainly better than driving after being at a bar, and free is better than taking a taxi!) Once I have all the details on that, I'll post them here.

This will be a pay-at-the-time thing... so whatever you order, you pay for that night. I'm only keeping a list for the sake of getting a reservation and the possible shuttle :thumbsup2

PERFECT!!
Thanks Gillian. I was going to email you today about the shuttle possibility. Great minds... :goodvibes
I sure hope they can provide the shuttle- it would be a huge help.

I unfortunately won't be able to make the dinner that night, as I have to get back home for a performance I'm in that evening. But I just wanted to say that if you haven't been to Iron Hill Brewery, it's fantastic! If you like sweet/fruity beers, you must try the raspberry wheat. It's my favorite beer out of any beer anywhere :goodvibes

Sorry you can't make it, but I'm glad to hear more good things about the place! I don't normally like sweet beers, but I will give the raspberry wheat a shot, anyway!

We're up to 12 people on the list so far. Unfortunately, the hotel shuttle will most likely not work for us, as it only carries "about 6" people, according to the woman I've been emailing with. Also, they stop running at 10pm. She did give me a phone number for a taxi company, which is probably the route I will take. Shouldn't be too expensive, since it's only 2 miles. All I know is I'm not driving ;) I'll gladly share that phone number with anyone who needs it, and we will have room in our taxi for another 2 people (assuming 4 passenger limit).

Another thing y'all may not know -- Embassy Suites does what they call a Manager's Reception, every night between 5:30 and 7:30 in their lobby. This is included in the price of your stay, and includes light snacks and a full bar. Very cool! We'll be checking that out, for sure! Probably both nights! :rotfl:
