~~ Sew hot, Hot, HOT! ~~ A sweltering Aug 2013 TR ~ Pre-Trippie link posted! ~ 10/31!

I know what you mean about dtd. We went Friday night of Labor Day weekend and it was really busy. If we go back, the kids would like to spend more time there.

I am not sure about a trip report. Maybe. Things have been crazy with the kids' schedules.

Today, Marissa signed us up to work the UO Duck football game in the concession stand. Not looking forward to that on my day off.

Yah - DTD wasn't very fun that night - I am sure I had that "deer in the headlights" look on my face most of the night. LOL

Bummer about being too busy for a TR... I hope you'll continue to stop in and say hi once in a while. :thumbsup2

I just wanted to pop in and let you know I am here and reading along. But I have to tell you...I think I need to stop reading people's trip reports until they are totally done with them...'cause I am soooooo impatient and want to know the rest of the story NOW! LOL!

Thanks for sharing!

Lynn

Hi Lynn!!! It's great to see you! I have the same problem... Then when the TR is over, I am so sad.

As a photographer with an external flash, I can tell you that he was using it incorrectly - most especially if he was blinding people. You should have offered to take a picture of him with his camera and given him a taste of his own medicine.

Well - that's good to know that he wasn't using it right - LOL It was the most crazy flash I had ever seen! And you could tell that the Captain was really getting annoyed, I am sure that each time it flashed, he couldn't see for a few seconds.

Suzie Goes. Tasha Comes!

Yes, but pretty soon, Tasha leaves too...

And I hope you're making a Halloween bag. Just sayin'.

I cannot reveal that information. :stir:

I've never really been a huge soda drinker and lately I've found that when I do have one I feel bloated and just yucky. Give me coffee and water and I'll do just fine, thank you. DH however gets his caffeine from sodas, but he waters them down so much they're practically flavored water.

Still proud of y'all's sticking to the H2O!

Yes - I have the same problem + it gives me SUCH bad heartburn. Which I don't understand, you would think it's the carbonation that gives the heartburn, but I drink the sparkling water everyday (H2Oh brand) and it never gives me heartburn - it's VERY carbonated. So, clearly, it's something else in soda that makes me feel so crappy. It's just easiest - and best for my body - just to eliminate it from my diet totally.

I love your fun group photo! You all have the BEST smiles!

Awww... Thanks!

I'm a WPE fan but sadly although we made it to DTD, we didn't eat there. I love the four cheese pesto pizza.

We liked WPE - for sure. And we like EoS... But we REALLY LOVE Jimmy Johns... Every time we eat there at home, we WISH they would open a franchise in Disney. LOL

I can't wait to hear about your best day!

Not sure it was our "best" day - but it was a really fun day and definately at the top of the list... It's kind of a tie between this day and our day with Suzi. :lovestruc Ack... But then we had our day with Bernadette too... OK, OK - all of them were great! LOL

I'm so impressed with your couponing. What an awesome positive impact that has. And I'm sure the cartwheel didn't hurt.

Thanks... Hahaha, I didn't do an actual "cartwheel" - LOL... I'd land on the floor a crumpled mass of jello if I did that. Target has this new coupon program built for Smartphones... Target Cartwheel

I am amazed by your extreme couponing! You managed to knock of a huge chunk of change off your totals. Do you find the coupons online?

Thanks! I am not sure that I am "extreme" - but I do coupon and I do try to get the best deals that I can. We are a super budget conscious family, and couponing is really the only way I can stay with in our budget for groceries. I do print coupons online (target.com, coupons.com, redplum.com, smartsource.com), plus I work at Target one day per week - so I have my Team Member discount + my Target Check Card discount (which is an automatic 15% off the top), I also shop with my BFF - who is able to earn Target Pharmacy rewards (I cannot, because DH is a Federal Employee) - so she shares that discount with me when she has it, so that's another 5%... Then Target allows you to "stack" coupons... So, one Target coupon and one Manufacturer coupon per item... And then, the new Target Cartwheel - which is another savings they allow you to stack. Then I subscribe to 2 Sunday papers, which I clip coupons out of, as well. I try very hard to only purchase items that I have coupons for, but sometimes certain things just can't be avoided. But it's fun, BFF and I enjoy doing it, and it gives me one more thing to help us save for Disney. :lovestruc

I do shop at other stores that aren't Target... But I only shop those stores sales/coupon specials/produce (becuse Target's produce is incredibly expensive).

But I don't consider myself "extreme" because my average savings is between 40%-50%... There is just no way we can get the deals at grocery stores in our area, like other grocery stores in other regions. But I do the best I can, and I have fun with it.

Do I get extra credit if I guess the correct holiday. I'm thinking about your Mickey cookie tray theme but for some reason I'm leaning towards Easter. But now that I know your recent Monster's Inc bag was for Chiara and her trip is coming up in October I am going with Halloween as my final answer. In any case I can't wait to see it.

Hope you are enjoying your weekend.

Hahaha... Well, if I was doing a certain holiday bag, it wouldn't be aimed at one particular person... But I do have some great fabric, for a certain holiday that I've been hoarding for quite some time, and I've been dying to use it... So, that's what dictated this particular bag. I am sure - when you see the fabric, you will definately agree with me, because you'd probably have a hard time not using it too. :woohoo:

Hi I haven't yet read any of your reports this is the first ,but I am glad to have found one ! Loving the dis meet pics, something I have yet to do .Excited to hear what else is coming

OOPsi-my little Nashatarian how cute are you in the dis meet pic!!! Love it!

Welcome Cheeky! Glad to have you here and following along... I've seen you around the Dis (mostly in Oopsi's PTR)... So, it's nice to have you here. :lovestruc

I'm fine. They're gone for now. They had to put me on high dosage of blood thinners to get the clots out. I have to take Warfarin, a blood thinner, daily until at least January. Then, I have to be checked out weekly to make sure my blood isn't too thin or not thin enough. Hopefully, these checkups will be monthly by the time I go to Disney. I dunno. Right now, my blood isn't thin enough, so I'm on a higher dosage. As long as I don't have to be checked out while at Disney.

Well, I am glad they were found and medicine was able to take care of them. I pray that your Disney trip goes well and you don't have any issues while you are there.

I opened it in another tab so I could watch. :thumbsup2

Your pictures from this trip are cracking me up. Loving the look on V's face in that first one. I'm surprised that Alli wasn't trying to make a silly face or hug on her!

Hahaha... Yah - we do settle down once in a while. :rolleyes1

And...this picture of all of you on the boat is priceless! Sometimes group selfies are the best! I love the look on everyone's faces...especially Alli.

Thanks! I thought it was a fun pic.

It sounds like you all enjoyed WPE. I really must try this some time. I guess I will add it to my ever growing list of things to see/do and places to eat!

Yes, make sure you add it - and Earl of Sandwich (if you haven't eaten there yet) and then, while you are at home... Look for a Jimmy Johns... We love to eat there!

My son is a soda addict. I make him cut it out on vacations that have any type of altitude. He is really sensitive to any increase of elevation - he's a desert rat. For some reason soda seems to intensify it. At least Florida shouldn't have that problem.

It's just so hard... I agree - I think that soda is so addicting. Before I stopped drinking it, it was all I was drinking all day every day... So very bad for me - and I just felt like crap too.

The flash sounds awful!

It was horrible... I have never seen flash like that in my life.

Little kids love to bounce in the booth behind me and stare at me, but no food throwing...yet. But they are kids what can you do - their cuteness does make up for it.

LOL - I know... It was just so cute... I literally had to hide my laughter behind my hand when she did it.

I think any holiday bag you did would be amazing.

Awww... Thank you!

I know what you mean about the soda! I quit it for a few months before our Disney trip too and then sadly got addicted again after our trip. Thankfully I seem to have it back under control but then again I leave for Disney in 58 days

Yah - it's just so strange how easy it is to get back into drinking it. I am glad you were able to get it back under control though. Yay for a trip in 58 days!

I can't wait to hear about your biggest day yet!!!

I am very excited to share it with all of you.

Glad you were able to get everything you needed. Even yearbooks in elementary school is crazy!! Jeremy and Sarah's were $27 each!! DH didn't want to get them but that is one thing from my school years that I do cherish so we will be getting them for each of them every year.

I was the same way... I love that I have all of my yearbooks - I never look at them anymore, but for years - I loved to look back. I was going to do middle school for the girls - but once Alli had her's stolen... Nah - they are too expensive for that sort of thing. But High School is very important, so I will be buying those... I remember when ours were $35... And that was back when there wasn't any digital software - I am sure they are much easier to produce now, yet they are double/triple the price.

Nice you were able to meat up with Tasha! Sounds like you guys had a fun time in DTD! Ugh about the blinding flash!! I'd probably be one who'd want to throw the camera with him with it overboard!!

We did have a great time with her!

Now I have to share some news! We may be going to WDW next summer!!! It would be in June though if we go. DH and I were talking tonight about our 10th anniversary (May) again since yesterday it had been 10 years since we first met and he said he was thinking about how it would be fun to take a couple weeks and drive cross country with the kids (make a stop here and there on the way and back) and go to WDW!!!! Yes the driving part scares me because the longest car rides we've done so far are just to Disneyland and Oregon both are between 6 1/2 and 7 1/2 hours depending ton traffic and how many stops we have to make. So if anyone has done the drive from California to Florida with young kids has any tips please let me know!!

Yay for going to WDW!!! But WOW - that would be a LONG drive!

but following!

Welcome! I am super glad to have you here!

The extras are getting crazy expensive. A lot of my students are opting to only get their senior year yearbook, which is kind of sad to me. Many kids can't afford to go to Prom with tickets being near or over $100 not including the dress or tux and all the other things.

My limit on driving has been about 8 hours too. I think a road trip would be fun.

Exactly - it is so expensive... And we have huge milesones coming... Prom... Graduation... College...

I remember my senior ball tickets were about $70 a person and that was almost 15 years ago. It is sad that things are just getting way to expensive for the kids to be able to go and enjoy them with their friends.

I know... I just don't understand why things are getting so horrible like that? I am sure - in the end - it comes down to school budget cuts. But I certainly do NOT want to get into a political discussion in my TR. LOL

I love road trips!! When I was 15 my grandparent's took me, my sister (13 at the time) and our cousin (8 at the time) on a 3 month tour of the USA. We left from Northern California the day after school let out. Drove down to southern California, then across the southern States to Florida (stopping along the way in places like Las Vegas; Tombstone, AZ; 4 Corners (where the 4 states meet), spent 2 weeks in Florida doing everything imaginable (WDW, Gator Land, Universal Orlando, Sea World, etc.), headed up the East Coast to New York (stopping in Gettysburg; Hershey, PA; Washington DC, etc) and then headed back across the northern states (making stops in Rapid City, SD to see Mount Rushmore; Missouri to visit our Great Grandma; Washington to see my brother who at the time I hadn't seen in a couple years; etc.) Got home 3 days before school started. We traveled in a motor home and towed a car behind us so we had lots of freedom to do what we wanted. It's a summer I will never forget!!

That cross-country trip sounds amazing!!! A great memory for sure! I would love to do something like that... If only I was brave ehough to do it. LOL

**********************************************************

Yesterday was pretty boring around here...

I did some laundry and worked in my sewing room for most of the day.

I was able to get my auction bag quilted. WHOOT!

Then I started on one of V's requested trip customs... Yes - I've started EARLY, seeing as I have not released the dates of our next trip yet... :rolleyes1 But after the craziness before this last trip - I NEED to start earlier. LOL

Today, I plan to work on the auction bag applique... And then I will work on V's custom again. I even have something in the works for myself. :lovestruc I dreamed about it last night - and you all know what that means... :rolleyes1

Yay! I have an outtake today! Ahem ~ excuse me ~ everyone... The camera is over HERE...

IMG_0758.jpg

I hope you all have a wonderful day!!!

D~

My favorite update so far! Lol. Seriously though, I want to thank you and the girls D for taking the time to share your evening with me. That was one of my most memorable evenings (just hanging out, shopping and enjoying friends).
I miss you guys!:grouphug:

Oh yeah, about the guy with the flashing camera light. I just wanted to say I don't think my vision will EVER be normal again! My eyesight has been permanently damaged. Lol.
Even though they didn't speak English I think they understood perfectly well that they were blinding us when we all covered our eyes in pain after the first flash! Lol.:rolleyes1

Sunday, August 25th - DHS

I woke at 6am this morning, showered and went down to the Food Court to get our usual breakfast of...

D~ & V = Beignets
Alli = Muffin

IMG_0762.jpg

IMG_0763.jpg

If you have never eaten a beignet before... They are INCREDIBLY MESSY! Powdered sugar goes EVERYWHERE... But we LOVE them! And they are soooo worth the mess!

I was super excited about today... First of all - I was VERY excited to wear my gear... It was the theme I was most excited about, but I had yet to wear it. Toy Story!!

Sadly... I could not wear my ADORABLE flip flop bling that Jen made for me, due to my darn foot issue at Blizzard Beach a few days prior (Yes, as of this posting - it is STILL healing, and it's been over 3 weeks!). I was soooo sad. Time to improvise... I took one of my flip-flop blingies and attached it to the strap of my tank top. Not exactly what it was intended for - but it worked and I still got to wear it!

We were on the DHS bus at 8:25, at the gates by 8:40 and through the turnstyles by 8:45. A nice park goer offered to take a picture of the three of us as we were waiting in line...

20130825_084101.jpg

The girls and I walked down Sunset Blvd... We pulled 3 FPs for ToT and 3 more for RnR. Then the girls rode ToT standby while we waited.

Waited for what? Well - today was a BIG day! Today is the day I get to meet up with my BFF from Jr. High. When she married, she moved to Florida - I have not physically seen her since 11th grade... And with the modern miracle of FB - we have reconnected. Don't you just love it! So, my friend Christy and her dd Sariah (pronounced Su-rye-uh) - who is near the same age of my girls, was meeting us for a day of fun at DHS! WHOOT! I was sooo excited to meet her and see her again - and I was soooo excited to meet her dd for the first time.

So, there I sat - on the rock benches outside of the restrooms there at the entrance of ToT... And I watied... And I waited... We were supposed to meet there at park opening - I knew that we had been let in 15 minutes early, so I expected to wait a little while... So, at about 9:05, I received a text from Christy that they were on their way... Cool - I really started watching for her. Quite a while passed, and I was thinking - maybe she meant she was on her way from their hotel? OK... I will just wait some more. LOL Finally - at 9:30 - there she was standing in front of me... Big hugs were given all around and introductions made! YAY!!!! Finally reunited after ~ ahem ~ 20 years!

As it turns out - Christy is directionally challenged. I picked ToT, because you can see it very clearly from the front gates of the park. According to Sariah - they texted me when they were through the gates, but they got lost on their way to ToT. :scratchin

Immediately we split up... Sariah had NO desire to ride ToT at all (she was quite afraid of it)... But we had FPs that expired soon... So, V, Christy and I rode ToT with our one set of FPs... And Alli and Sariah rode RnR standby. After - we all met up again, and all 3 girls rode RnR with the FPs.

IMG_0764.jpg

It was then, I found out - the only ride Sariah wanted to ride here was TSM! WHAT!!!! :faint: Had I known - I would have done the TSM run and pulled FPs for that right away. Sigh.

OK everyone - we are headed to TSM to see if there are any FPs left at all. IT was about 10:15 when we got to TSM for FPs, and the FPs we pulled were for a return of 5:55-6:55. At least that timing works well for our schedule.

From there - we headed to Animation Studio. Sariah did not seem to want to do this... We assured her that even though it sounded "boring" it was a lot of fun. We told her that if she tried it and didn't like it - we wouldn't do it again. That seemed to work well. We had to wait quite a while to get in - as a group had just gone, but the CM entertained us with a bunch of trivia.

Finally - we went in, and by process of elimination - we chose to draw Eeyore!

Sariah's:

Victoria's:

And in case you didn't guess... Alli's:
IMG_0771.jpg

The final verdict was that Sariah enjoyed this a lot! WHOOT! See... Disney isn't all about the rides - there is so much more tucked into every corner.

From there - we decided on an early lunch... Starring Rolls... We LOVE eating here! The food is so nice and refreshing - it's very light after days and days of heavy park food.

I had the turkey sandwich/chips and (I bet you are surprised) a Napoleon!

IMG_0772.jpg

See - look at that nice deli sliced turkey... You may find this funny - but we all had the exact same sandwich - so I only took one photo...

IMG_0773.jpg

But then - there's the desserts...

Sariah's Mike cupcake!!! So adorable!

IMG_0774.jpg

This was Christy's - but I don't remember what it was? Does anyone know?

IMG_0775.jpg

After lunch - what's better to do, then to have your food all shook up on Star Tours! The girls love this ride... Christy and Sariah loved it too, and since the standby wait time was 5 minutes, we rode it twice back-to-back.

The three girls:

IMG_0777.jpg

And one of my favorite photos of all of us together... L to R: Christy, Sariah, V, D~ and Alli

IMG_0778.jpg

From here - we went to meet Sulley and Mike. Victoria has been ANXIOUSLY awaiting this meet n' greet for MONTHS... She just KNEW that Sulley and Mike would LOVE her head gear and bag. Much to her disappointment... They did not adknowledge her at all... They barely moved or adknowledged anyone at all... They just STOOD there and if they didn't lift their arm occaionally - you would have thought they were statues. No emotion at all. And the CMs - ushered us through like cattle. It was probably the WORST meet n' greet we have ever experienced in all of our trips. I was so very sad for V, because she was crushed after dreaming of this meet for so long.

I do have one defense for the characters... It was VERY HOT this day, and I can't imagine how hot it must be in those costumes. Even so - there was a LOT of disappointment from everyone in this line. I do have photos - but they are on my photopass CD - so I will update when it comes.

My favorite update so far! Lol. Seriously though, I want to thank you and the girls D for taking the time to share your evening with me. That was one of my most memorable evenings (just hanging out, shopping and enjoying friends).
I miss you guys!:grouphug:

Awww... Any time Tasha!!! We had sooo much fun with you - all of us really enjoyed our time together. :lovestruc Me miss you too and talk of you often!

See... I wasn't exaggerating! LOL My girls will tell you that sometimes I over exaggerate... but this time - I think I played it down a little. Oooh - this spurred a thought - since I've come home, I've taken to wearing my glasses almost full-time... This could be the reason that my eyesight has significantly decreased. I am TOTALLY going with that theory. LOL

D~

Great update. I love having my coffee with you every morning.

I am excited to see the new things you are making.

All caught up. Loving following along with you and your girls. My word, you had some monorail issues this trip! Yikes! So sorry you didn't enjoy the Lapu Lapu. That stinks when you've dreamt about something and it doesn't live up to the hype. So sorry you weren't feeling well that first day. The heat can really do a number on you.

Am sure there was much more I wanted to comment on, but I forgot to take notes. Looking forward to more!

D-

OK- my guess is your new bag is CHRISTMAS related? Am I correct? My favorite part of your bags are the appliques! I don't know how you do it but they are fantastic- the stitching is amazing. Loved the Cheshire bag!

Tell Target that they need to pay you a commission...I just signed up for Cartwheel on your recommendation! I, too, love to coupon. My family is trying to eat healthier, so I'm finding I can't quite coupon the way I used to. Alot of my couponing was for processed foods. But, if I can get all my paper goods/cleaning supplies/health and beauty products for as cheap as possible, that is totally worth it! I use my savings for Disney too.

Speaking of which, I am just itching to put a deposit down on a trip. I'm looking for a better paying job right now and until that happens, we won't be able to swing a trip. :(

And as far as yearbooks go- I currently have a 3rd grader, an 8th grader and an 11th grader. I have bought each child a yearbook when they were in elementary, and bought my oldest his 6th grade and 7th grade yearbooks, but after that I have not purchased any other middle school yearbooks and no high school yearbooks. They are just too expensive and they sit on the shelf and no one looks at them. I figure I will purchase each child's senior yearbook, because that will be special. Surely they would sell more books if they lowered the price?? :confused3

All caught up again.

I'm glad you got to experience WPE...we really liked our meal there; and they have a great variety of choices.

I would have had to put that man overboard...really, do you think of no one but yourself.

What a fun morning at DHS. Love your outfits...very cute. And :cheer2::cheer2::cheer2: hooking up with an old school friend.

The Eeyore drawings are great.

I have to tell you we had great interaction with Sully and Mike last year; I'm guessing as you predicted it had a lot to do with the heat.

I am still catching up, but love it so far! I took a quick peak of your 2013 projects and am in love with your work! Do you sell on Etsy? I am crafty, do needle point and knit but for some reason sewing with a machine really intimidates me! Someday I will learn!

I hate that you had to leave the dessert party early, but from what saw was it worth it? I have been considering trying to book it for may.

Whoot for introducing the hidden corners to newbies!!

Man, what did you DO to your foot? Well, I know - you've already said - but wow, it's taking a while to heal. I'm pretty sensitive to foot wound healing because diabetes runs in the family and that's a pretty serious side effect.

looking forward to hearing more about your busiest day at Disney!

Ladylyons - your road trip as a child sounds amazing. You were so lucky to experience all those places. I am sure that your family will enjoy your road trip too. I think I have seen a book about road trips for kids by National Geographic that lists fun places to stop and other ideas for kids. I think a PTR is going to be required for that adventure!

It was especially now when I realize it's been 10 years since I lost both of my grandparent's (6 months apart). It's also a trip I still talk about and would love to do with my children and this might just be the start I need to do something similar. Thank you, I'll have to check that book out. Once I start researching and talk to DH about it again I'll probably do a PTR. I'm still in shock that he's the one that mentioned doing it!

Yay for going to WDW!!! But WOW - that would be a LONG drive!

That cross-country trip sounds amazing!!! A great memory for sure! I would love to do something like that... If only I was brave ehough to do it. LOL

I used to look at all mine too now they are sitting in a box in the back of the kids closet. It is fun to pull them out every once in a while and read all the fun things we used to write to each other. I asked my mom if she remembered how much my senior book was and she said it was around $75. Not looking forward to the day I have 2 in high school at a time!! I guess on top of that college fund we're doing I should also do a high school fund!!

It's not the drive it's self that scares me it's the distance. I know they'll do fine in the van I just don't know for how long. We can normally do Disneyland straight through and that at the most takes us about 8 hours and that's when we hit Los Angeles in the middle of the commute (we really try not to do that!!) I guess it's time to start looking into everything and talk to DH again and see how serious he is. We want to do something special next year for our 10 year anniversary and originally was going to do a cruise without the kids but now the baby will only be about 4 months old when May hits. I suggested that we could wait another year but then he came up with this and I was like Ok I'm sure we can find a way to make it work and all of us have fun during it.

It's a trip I'll never forget and I still talk about. Every now and then I'll pull out the pictures and relive the memories. I cry because it was a fun and special time we got to spend with our grandparent's and I know we were lucky to be able to go.

We're baaaack!

Charlie and I had an awesome trip! I've been trying to catch up on everyone's PTRs and TRs, watch the football game and the baseball game (gotta keep up with my teams!) and talk to my son and his wife (we asked them to come over to watch the game since they don't have cable.

I can't possibly remember all the posts I wanted to comment on, but these come to mind:

Lois - that trip with your grandparents sounds amazing. I'd love to do something like that once I retire. Hopefully by then I'll have some grandchildren we can take with us (maybe even triplets!)

D~ your latest bags are amazing, as always! I'm guessing the holiday theme is Halloween.

We are talking about going to Florida in March, not to WDW though. Going to Orioles spring training! Think we are going to drive too. We don't have dates yet, and probably won't until after the first of the year, when I can find out when my son will be there with the Pirates. Speaking of which, I'm headed to Pittsburgh on Friday to visit the son and his fiancé and see a Pirates game!:cheer2:

well that sucks about Mike n Sulley, and by the way I would love to know who makes your ear hats n headbands because My girls would go nuts over them!! Too cute!

Love your last two updates and pics! That one of the FQ bus stop area is sooo familiar! DTD can be such a pain on the weekends! I hate to be in World of Disney when it's wall to wall people. And I'm so sorry that guy spoiled your boat trip. That's such a nice relaxing mode of transportation...usually. This last trip we didn't get to DTD except once! I love to go there and eat at EOS or Raglan Road. We've also done WPE and the regular WP restaurant. There are so many great choices there for dining. And if possible, we love to do Ghirardelli too, but with dining plan are often too full to indulge.

I don't think the green Dawn works. My sister told me about the blue and she stressed to use the blue. I also had the green Dawn already, but I went out and bought the blue and just keep it in my laundry room. Don't know why there's a difference. :confused3

I'm so sorry that the character meet was a disappointment. I would have been really upset as well. That headgear and bag deserved lots of lovin', overheated characters or not!

Don't you just love back to back rides?? We did Toy Story first thing right after getting our FP and we just walked through the que area and onto the ride. We rode it a total of 3 times that day. And I had made Dan a Toy Story shirt to wear so the CMs were lovin' that. (It's the same design Chaira made for you.) I'm glad you had a good time with your long lost high school friend and I love the pics of you all. That one Alli took on the Star Tours ride was fantastic!

You did great with your shopping. It's so hard when you've had to skip regular grocery trips and need so much, but you did really well I think. And it must be so much more fun to be able to do it with a friend.

You know, I read about your dis meets and how genuinely you enjoy the people you meet and just appreciate so much what a loving heart you have for people (even 2 year olds who throw food!;)) There is not a phony or mean bone in your body and I just love that about you. I think that's why so many people flock to your PTRs and TRs, they sense that. But, of course there's just enough ornery to keep you human, too!:lmao:

So, my vote for your auction bag is Halloween. I still remember that fun Christmas bag from last year with the bite out of the cookie. That was one of my all time favorites!

Okay, gotta go! Hope you have a great day in your sewing room or wherever you find yourself. And I really hope your foot gets better soon!

I remember my senior ball tickets were about $70 a person and that was almost 15 years ago. It is sad that things are just getting way to expensive for the kids to be able to go and enjoy them with their friends.

That is a fabulous memory!! I sooo wish we could do that one day with our grandkids! They are still really young yet, but that's something to keep in the back of my mind. What a special time that must have been. Thanks for sharing that story!

Still here and loving the reports. Man this back to work really interferes with my Dis'ing!!!!!

Love the HS accessories- you are giving me lots of ideas for our next trip- my DH will thank you for the additional costs lol.

Great update. I love having my coffee with you every morning.

Thanks! I love having my coffee with YOU every morning too!

I am excited to see the new things you are making.

Me too!!! I think you are going to flip your lid when you see what I have in the works for myself... I am sooo excited about it that I can barely contain myself!

Yay!!! I need to stop updating so much - so people can stay caught up. LOL But I am having so much fun reliving it! Super happy to have you here and following along with me.

All Am sure there was much more I wanted to comment on, but I forgot to take notes. Looking forward to more!

LOL I know - sometimes I need to take notes too.

D-

OK- my guess is your new bag is CHRISTMAS related? Am I correct? My favorite part of your bags are the appliques! I don't know how you do it but they are fantastic- the stitching is amazing. Loved the Cheshire bag!

Well - you know I can't tell you that... Hahaha... Otherwise no one would have anything to look forward to. It is a good guess though. :lovestruc

I honestly don't have a clue how I do my appliques... I just go for it - and pray a lot that it works - most of the time it does. LOL

I find the same issues - and it's very hard to coupon when you don't want processed food in your diet. I totally get that. I don't like the processed foods - and you can bet that BFF and I sit in the aisles and read food ingredients. There are things that I still buy that are processed (ketchup, soups...) and there are many things I just don't touch anymore. But above and beyond everything - we are more "all natural" than non-processed, if that makes sense... I guess I am not gung ho on it - but if there is something on the label that I don't know what it is, or I can't pronounce - I don't buy it. To be honest - MOST of my shopping is done in the cooler/freezer section (hence the reason we have 2 fridges and 4 freezers - one not in use at the moment)... We eat TONS of greek yogert and cheese... Yah - we are NOT lactose intolerant, although, sometimes we should be. LOL

Speaking of which, I am just itching to put a deposit down on a trip. I'm looking for a better paying job right now and until that happens, we won't be able to swing a trip.

I totally understand... The only thing that keeps me going back, is that I am running out of time with the girls very quickly... So, I've started to make it a priority to save wherever I can... And, of course, to get the best deals I can get from Disney too... It all helps. And I always tell myself - if I can't save enough in time for my booked trip, I can always move it out to another date - that way, I am "saving" but I save much better when I have a deadline. But I totally understand - if there is no $$ to save - there isn't much that can be done about it... I pray that you are able to find a better paying job soon and there is a Disney trip for you on the horizon. :lovestruc

You would think - they are just soooo expensive. It's so frustrating. I do know that Alli looks at her's all the time - so I don't mind buying them - especially in High School. Like I said - it needs it's own line item in our budget though, because YIKES... It killed me to take $$ out of savings to pay for yearbooks - as yearbooks are NOT an emergency, IMO. LOL

All caught up again.

Yay!!! I've been reading the updates in your TR - but I always fall behind on the chatter... I wish I could follow along better. LOL

I'm glad you got to experience WPE...we really liked our meal there; and they have a great variety of choices.

It was very good! We will definately eat there again.

I would have had to put that man overboard...really, do you think of no one but yourself.

Oh, believe me... I think there was a line of people who wanted to put him overboard. LOL

What a fun morning at DHS. Love your outfits...very cute. And hooking up with an old school friend.

Thank you!!! It was sooo much fun... I was a bit nervous about it - since we are pretty dedicated to accomplishing as much as we can, and they had never been to DHS before... But we all had a great time! We hope to do it again for our next trip.

The Eeyore drawings are great.

Yah - that is one of our favorite/must dos at DHS!

I have to tell you we had great interaction with Sully and Mike last year; I'm guessing as you predicted it had a lot to do with the heat.

We've always had really good interactions with them too... So, my guess is that it was the heat too.

Well - I would do it again... Not sure if I would do it because it was "worth it" or because we "missed it" and wanted to try it... Ya know? I am hoping to have a redo on one of our upcoming trips though.

Whoot for introducing the hidden corners to newbies!!

Hahaha... Have you ever done it before? It's so much fun!

Man, what did you DO to your foot? Well, I know - you've already said - but wow, it's taking a while to heal. I'm pretty sensitive to foot wound healing because diabetes runs in the family and that's a pretty serious side effect.

This is very interesting to me... All I did is scrape 2 or 3 layers off the top of my foot - about the size of a dime, maybe a bit smaller. I may have to make an appt with my Dr, as diabetes runs in my family as well - and when I had my physical last spring, I didn't have any bloodwork done - I was supposed to go back for that, and I never did. Now I am all freaked out. This is not my first minor foot injury I've had in the last few months - and the other one took a very long time to heal too???? Unfortunately, I know NOTHING about diabetes - except that my dad and other family members have it - so I have no idea what other symptoms could be?

looking forward to hearing more about your busiest day at Disney!

Thanks! I am looking forward to telling you all about it!

I think you should try! It sounds like such a fantastic way to bond.

Mine are happily buried in the basement... Very deep. LOL

I think this would be awesome!

It's a trip I'll never forget and I still talk about. Every now and then I'll pull out the pictures and relive the memories. I cry because it was a fun and special time we got to spend with our grandparent's and I know we were lucky to be able to go.

And look at all those WONDERFUL memories they gave you!!! I think this is fantastic!

We're baaaack!

Welcome back Tess!!!!!!! I can't wait to hear all about your trip! It sounds like you had a wonderful time.

Charlie and I had an awesome trip! I've been trying to catch up on everyone's PTRs and TRs, watch the football game and the baseball game (gotta keep up with my teams!) and talk to my son and his wife (we asked them to come over to watch the game since they don't have cable.

Yah - I still feel like I am trying to catch up on everyone's.

Thanks Tess!

We are talking about going to Florida in March, not to WDW though. Going to Orioles spring training! Think we are going to drive too. We don't have dates yet, and probably won't until after the first of the year, when I can find out when my son will be there with the Pirates. Speaking of which, I'm headed to Pittsburgh on Friday to visit the son and his fiancé and see a Pirates game!

Oooh that would be a fun trip! I can't imagine going to Fl and not going to Disney though. LOL

well that sucks about Mike n Sulley, and by the way I would love to know who makes your ear hats n headbands because My girls would go nuts over them!! Too cute!

I will try to remember to send you a PM... Otherwise - send me one to remind me. LOL

Thanks! Yah - I will never go back to DTD on a weekend night - it was pure insanity! We have never eaten at Raglan Road -I have heard good things about it though... And Ghiradelli... Mmmmmm....

I don't think the green Dawn works. My sister told me about the blue and she stressed to use the blue. I also had the green Dawn already, but I went out and bought the blue and just keep it in my laundry room. Don't know why there's a difference.

Ok, OK... I will buy some blue Dawn on your recommendataion. LOL I just hate the smell of it though. LOL

I'm so sorry that the character meet was a disappointment. I would have been really upset as well. That headgear and bag deserved lots of lovin', overheated characters or not!

Yah - it just wasn't a good experience... Even the character handlers didn't seem to want to be there... :confused3

That is AWESOME to be able to do that for TSM!!! Lucky you! And how awesome that Dan got some extra pixie dust from the shirt you made him! That's soooo cool! I can't wait to tell you all about the rest of our DHS day - it was so FUN!

You did great with your shopping. It's so hard when you've had to skip regular grocery trips and need so much, but you did really well I think. And it must be so much more fun to be able to do it with a friend.

It is! We always have a great time! ::yes::

You know, I read about your dis meets and how genuinely you enjoy the people you meet and just appreciate so much what a loving heart you have for people (even 2 year olds who throw food!;)) There is not a phony or mean bone in your body and I just love that about you. I think that's why so many people flock to your PTRs and TRs, they sense that. But, of course there's just enough ornery to keep you human, too!

Wow... You almost have me in tears here Lois... Thank you. I feel the exact same way about you. :lovestruc I am so very lucky to have such great Dis friends - I know I say that all the time, but it's so true! And btw... Sometimes I feel I have a bit more "ornery" in me than necessary. LOL

So, my vote for your auction bag is Halloween. I still remember that fun Christmas bag from last year with the bite out of the cookie. That was one of my all time favorites!

Hahaha... YOu know I can't ruin the surprise... But you'll find out soon enough... Maybe even today. :thumbsup2 Ooooh yes - I loved that bag too - I just loved that it was a cherry red color, not a perfect red.

Okay, gotta go! Hope you have a great day in your sewing room or wherever you find yourself. And I really hope your foot gets better soon!

I hope you have a fantastic day too! And thanks for stopping by!

**********************************************************

I spent almost all day in my sewing room yesterday... I wasn't planning on finishing the applique on my auction bag - but I did. So, I might just have a bag to show you all later today! :thumbsup2 Keep your eyes peeled!

When I wasn't sewing - I was online fabric shopping. :worship: Yah... My darn brainy ideas - sometimes I have one, and my mind grips so tighly on it, I can't shake it... So, I have a HUGE fabric order coming... And a few new patterns... I cannot wait to show you all - it's going to be Epic! And this has NOTHING to do with the other HUGE surprise I was talking about last week - these are two totally seperate HUGE things. :stir: I cannot wait to show you all!!!!!!!!

Josh made ribs on the grill again last night for dinner... Nummy!!! Then we had some frozen sweet potatoes from our garden last year that we are trying to eat up before we start freezing this year's.

Today, I hope to finish my auction bag in the morning - then I will start on my custom order for the week.

Tonight - my coworkers talked me into trying a Zumba class through Community Ed... It's a "free trial" thing. I am kind of excited - I've always wanted to try Zumba, because I have heard great things about it, but I have never done it (and I am not very coordinated - nor do I have any rythem at all) So this should be a rather comical experience for everyone involved. :thumbsup2 Hopefully I don't injure myself...

I hope you all have a wonderful day today! Thank you for continuing to check in and follow along! :lovestruc

After our terrible Meet n' Greet with Sulley and Mike - Victoria was super bummed. It took us a while to cheer her up.

We decided - that since we were in the area, we would try out the Backlot Tour, it's something we have never done and it was on my "must do" list for this trip.

And my favorite part of the ride... Costuming!!! I know it's hard to see - but they were all SEWING!!! How marvelous is that???

I am very glad we finally did this... However - I was very sad to learn from the girls, that when we walked through the "prop warehouse" - they saw Mickey and Minnie's couches from their old houses. I totally missed them and it made me sad... I still wish Disney would have found a spot to put them.

Stopped to get a signature of the Green Army Man on V's pillowcase (which is filling up quite nicely at this point).

Once we were done here, we hopped in line to meet Woody and Buzz...

And, of course - the dorks that we are... Sometimes, I think we get in line to meet Woody and Buzz just so we can take pictures in the que. :scratchin

Still trying to cheer V up from Sulley and Mike... Sigh.

IMG_0807.jpg

Sariah wasn't too keen on the idea of character meeting - but her mom kind of forced her to do it, and I don't think it was nearly as bad for her as she thought it would be. The girls and I went first and broke the ice for her.

No pictures with Woody and Buzz until our PP cd comes (according to the tracking - it should be here today)...

V was much happier after meeting Woody and Buzz... They definately redeemed the character experience for us - and they LOVED my gear... At least someone at DHS liked our gear... but I would have much rather had it be Sulley and Mike than Woody and Buzz. Oh well.

Guess what's next???

What should be on EVERYONE's must-do list at DHS???

Seriously - this is something that is worth the cost of the flight alone...

Any guesses????

C'mon...

You all should know this by now...

Hmmmm... Well... I will let you all think on it for a while...

You are killing me with all your surprises and Vs custom???? I guess we will have lots to wait for :)

Casey and I were at Joann's yesterday and she was telling me "mom, no more fabric". She was texting her friend so I told her to sit at the pattern table and then she decided that she wanted me to make her a Halloween costume. Dread, she was perfectly happy to look at fabric after that. I told her I am not commiting to anything. LOL.

It is so awesome that you got to meet up with your friend from high school. Glad you guys had such a nice time together. Your pictures are great-such good artists in your group! Lunch looks yummy and I love that picture from Star Tours. I am not a huge fan of ToT but I love RnR. Of course the kids love TSM so we try to do that 2 or 3 times a visit. So sad that Mike and Sully were not enthusiastic. There meet and greet area should be enclosed with some added AC so at least thet could stay cool even if you had to wait outside. I love the way you added your flip flop bling to your tank top, it looks perfect.

Can't wait to hear more. Ok, didn't have to wait too long. LOL. Glad you had fun meeting Buzz and Woody or should I say waiting in line to meet Buzz and Woody.

looking forward to seeing your next auction item and all your new things that are going to be huge :)

I have to go find what happened with Sulley and Mike now. I htink I missed it.
