We booked a standard room. Does Martinique building have standard rooms? Do you know which number? Trying to put in request....

Yes, there are standard rooms in Martinique. The buildings are 21, 22 and 23.

Thank you! What about Tridad building? My husband has a really bad limp due to hunting accident several years ago. He's ok for a while but by late afternoon he usually just waits on a bench for us :( I want to be as close to Port R. as possible.

All of Trinidad North is preferred. When you call in your requests make sure you state you would like close to OPR because of mobility issues.

We will be at CBR Sept 15-19 and I have not received a letter about the fridge status, but I keep seeing where others with later dates than ours have. Seems strange that we haven't gotten one yet!

I know. I have also seen that people staying in DVC or the family suites, rooms that we NOT affected by the fridge recall, have been getting the letters.:confused3

I'm staying Sept 14-21st and received my fridge letter just this week.

I called the Guest Services number that was listed on the infamous fridge letter (staying @ CBR 9/21-9/28) and spoke with a very nice CM named Macey.

After that call, I firmly believe that your best source of knowledge as to what is going on with CBR fridges are the posters on this board who have recently stayed or are onsite now.

Macey apologized for the inconvenience and that WDW is doing every thing they can to switch the fridges over as quickly as possible (which I do not doubt).

She added a fridge request to my reservation even though my AAA TA supposedly already did that on July 11th.

When I inquired about the $15 credit, she firmly but politely said that no credits were being issued. My Garden Grocer perishables could be stored by Bell Services in their large refrigerators.

Again, take it for what it's worth but I think it leaves no doubt that our best source for fridge updates are our fellow DIS posters. :)

My mother has traveled with us several times and, while she is in pretty good health, she does tire some so mobility can be an issue for her. We had them make a notation on our reservation that she needed a downstairs room due to mobility issues. Each time, we have received our requested downstairs room. This last trip, we asked for a room in Martinique and, again, our request was granted. If I were you, I'd call and make those same notations on your reservation and request a room in Martinique 23 which is one of the closest standard rooms to Old Port Royale.

As dansdad stated, all of Trinidad North is preferred.

I agree with your post. Hopefully, Disers staying at the CBR will continue to post their refrigerator experiences (or lack thereof ;)) here for all to see.

We are in Trinidad North right now. Our room had a fridge. The 2 rooms our friends have next to us did not have working fridges. Our friends each called to ask about the $15 per night refund and were told a fridge would be delivered. Both rooms now have fridges! If you do not have a fridge inquire about a refund and you will have one. The front desk told us there were no extra fridges until we asked for the $15.

Thanks for the reply. Good to know there is a chance to get one in the preferred rooms. I appreciate your input about asking bout the credit. That's a good idea. I hope it works. They did note request for fridge on my ressie, so hopefully I'll get lucky.

Hope you have a good time. We will be there soon!! But not soon enough!!
Thanks again :)

BTW, I have not received a fridge letter either, and we are going in 1 1/2 weeks.

Going and November and have this is my first time at this resort and have a couple of questions. 1) has this resort been part of fastpass+ testing at all? 2) are the fridge's expected to be all switched out by Thanksgiving week? 3) what is best location for family of 4 in a standard room? 4) I understand that the bus goes to each building before heading to the parks. IS there a preferred stop to make sure you get on the bus during crowded times to make sure it is not full when it gets to you? 5) HOw long does it take the bus to get through the resort and then to the parks? 6) I will have a car, will I be better off driving to the parks if I am trying to make rope drop? 7) If I drive to the parks what would you suggest on a MK day so as to avoid parking at the TTC?
Thanks in advance.

1. Not that I know of, but I could be wrong. I know it hasn't for August, September or October.

2. They said 4 months the first week of July, so it should be. But there could always be delays.

3. Depends on what you are looking for in location. Close to OPR, views, etc?

4. The bus stops at each village, not building. It's luck of the draw really to which bus stop will be the emptiest each time. OPR is probably the busiest most of the time though, so I would avoid that stop.

5. I know I've seen someone post it on here before, hopefully someone will chime in with this answer for you.

6. Driving is usually faster for every park but Magic Kingdom. Since you park at the lots at MK, then have to take the monorail or boat across to the gates it takes much longer than the bus, which goes straight to the gate.

7. For MK I would take the bus versus driving.

I am staying at CBR from Oct 18th to the 29th with my DH, DD 7 and DD 5. We have a preferred room booking. For those who have stayed there what building would you recommend and what rooms? I know there are no elevators. Are the second floor rooms quieter than the first floor? Any helpful suggestions would be appreciated. Can't wait. First visit for me in almost 30 years and first visit for the rest of the family.

Hello All!
We are going to be at CBR Sept 23-30th & can hardly wait:yay:
I too received the letter about the fridges not working. Not a make or break by anymeans to my Disney excitement. I saw on here that someone posted about a $15.00 credit that they received due to the lack of fridge. I didn't know if anyone knew more about this.

Counting down the days until I'm home with Mickey!!

We have stayed preferred twice. Once in Martinique 24 and once in Martinique 26. Bldg. 26 was a great location. Our walk to Old Port Royale was 2 minutes at the most.

We've stayed in both upstairs and downstairs and, honestly, I have never noticed a difference except when people let their suitcases thump up and down the stairs. But, we've heard that in both upstairs and downstairs rooms.

Oh gracious! So much has changed in 30 years! You're going to have a fantastic time.

Lots of folks have posted that they received the $15.00 per night credit and others have posted that when they asked about the credit, they received a fridge instead.

Awesome! Thanks for the info.
We are doing this as a surprise trip for my 9 & 6 year olds and are planning on pulling them out of school at noon and driving straight to the airport and telling them on the way. Here's to hoping we can pull off the surprise :)

That sounds like an awesome surprise! I hope that you can pull it off. We once surprised our son with a trip to Disney. Can you believe that we drove almost 15 hours and he didn't figure it out until we showed a Disney milemarker sign to him? Thank goodness for handheld electronics that keep kids busy. :rotfl:

Does anyone happen to know if CBR has been announced as one of the hotels included in Fast Pass+ at all later this year? I know it hasn't been included to date, but I'm wondering about November or December? I'm helping so many people right now book their fast pass+ (staying at POR and AOA next month), that it has me excited to try it myself. Our trip is in December, staying at CBR. Thanks!
