Surprised the kids, wife, and my readers w/ a 2 week trip to AoA!(*NEW* 11-7)

No fun getting caught in DTD in a monsoon.

But you sure made the best of it.

I agree that DTD needs some cover ( and maybe some will come with the renovation or re-imagination)

I have made that monsoon dash out of AK once. At some point you just have to laugh. :rotfl:

Sorry Parker was still having issues.

hey glad to see you around again. yep the sing along is each night...the first of the month they have a schedule of what movies are playing...i found it before on the dis but not sure what thread it was located in.

that was the first time we did the pearl, i cant wait to let her do it again, or let noelle do it when she gets a little older...

thanks for reading along. :thumbsup2

Thanks! It's great to be back again! I'll have to check into the movie schedule for the sing along!

I'm sure Noelle would love the pick a pearl as well when she gets a bit older! :-)

Mini golfing looked like a great time! The theming there is very cool! Everyone seemed to have fun!!

DisneyQuest also sounds like a lot of fun and Parker seemed to thoroughly enjoy himself!! I love the picture of Noelle looking at the lights and then watching Parker do DDR! Very, very cute!!

Those downpours always hit at the most inopportune times, that's for sure-like when having to run from one side of Downtown Disney to the other! We were caught in one there as well doing the same thing on our last trip! Keeps us on our toes!

Poor Parker throwing up again! :-( I hope he was okay!

We were set to embark on our 3rd fun day event for the day, first BB, second Golf and third was DTD
Quite a variety, and a lot of fun choices! :cool1:

parker loves the themeing of it outside.

I'm with Parker on this one! Another great job of Disney themeing! :thumbsup2

we skipped the first stop at the marketplace area as we didnt want to have to walk all the way over to disney quest. which was our first mistake.

we let him decide if we should eat first and then play or play then eat first.

with it only being around 4:30 none of us were that hungry yet but we should have just eaten first then played...but of course we didnt do that...
Uh Oh! Not liking the sound of this...... :(

as you look at these pics take note of the storm drains in the sidewalk, as we make our way to disney quest.
Not liking the sound of THIS either! :worried:

we never have eaten at this one but love the one on the other side of DTD.
My experience with eating at DTD is very limited so far. Usually focus on the resort/park options for meals. I'm thinking I need to try a few more DTD places in the future. ::yes::

when we get into the elevator to go up to the game floor parker is so excited he is a blur to the camera.
Bart Simpson, is that you??? :rotfl:

candi found a cupcake she really wanted but we just took a picture for the time being to remind us to get it, but totally forgot to get

Items at Disney like that always look interesting, and then I start to wonder.............How do you eat THAT??? I mean, without totally dismantling it first???

parker perfected his guitar hero skills.
that stance, and guitar holding skill just screams PRO
:lmao: .............I'm sooooo glad I wasn't :surfweb: when I saw that!!!

with that we were ready to leave, but not before noticed it was almost 7 and the kids were starting to get really hungry.

we knew we should have eaten first.

especially when we get down to the bottom floor of the disney quest and find that there is a monsoon style rain going on outside.
I KNEW something like this was coming....................

we take off in a sprint...

well remember those drains well they are not built for a rain this size, there is vortex water spinning around them about 3-4 inches deep, it was going up to noelles feet in the stroller the wheels of the stroller were submerged.
And you didn't stop to take at least one picture for us? And here I thought you were a dedicated DISer.............. :confused3

we ducked into the first shop we saw an opening in, and assessed our damage....candi and i look at each other, i tell her she looks like a soaked rat,
But in a pretty sort of way, right??? :rolleyes1

as we are getting into the lego area, you can only hear squeals of delight from both kids who are having ohh so much fun at mommy and daddy getting soaked.
You know, with wet hands one accidental slip where you drop that umbrella would probably cure all that making fun of you two..............just sayin' :rolleyes2

well it leads to a shopping spree in the world of disney store of course, to find a few sweatshirts for the kids who are now turned from squeals of joy to squeals of COLD from the AC blasting on them.

we find parker a sweatshirt pretty quick and buy it, and throw it on him.

noelle is another story, i wasnt paying those prices for one for her to wear one year, so an extra small kids one for her so she can wear it for a few years was in order.

60 bucks later they were warm and ready to go to eat.
Disney has to LOVE all the rainstorms that roll through. Wonder how much sales goes up at those times???

i have to say the pizza even though it was just cheese was very very good, parker and noelle ate it up as well.
Sounds like a possibility when at DTD sometime.

here is a shot on the bus on the way back so you can see there new sweatshirts.

None the worse for wear..........or wetness.

and it also gave us the chance to see the final hidden mickey in the carpet that eluded noelle and me earlier the other day.

Nice One!!!

a few times that night after dinner parker would cough once then freak out and work himself up and cough a bunch more.

we were able to talk him down then.

but when we got back to the room he ended up throwing up a few times.
Aww man, I was hoping you were done with the sickness episodes........... :faint:

Looks like the kids had fun at Quest

Trent discovered fruit ninja game at one of the resort arcades in Disney . We had to buy him the app for our phone because of that lol

Bummer on the rain

Love the pizza at wolfgang express . So yummy

Poor Parker. Hope he feels okay for the last full day at the Parks

Sorry you got caught in the rain. The same thing happened to us when we went to Raglan Road for dinner. Downpoured! It rained everyday we were there. I know it's common but that's never happened to me before.

Parker and I have the love of Fruit Ninja in common lol

Hi Dan! I know I've been awol for a while. I used your fabulous links to get caught up. What a great trip. The kids are so cute. You're doing lots of things we've never done so it really great to see it. I'm sorry for the downpour and Parker's cough. Hopefully he was better in the morning.

Just stopped back by to leave a very important message...............

Happy 2nd Birthday to Sweet Princess Noelle!!!

princess: party: ::MickeyMo :cake: :bday: ::MinnieMo :jumping1: :tink: :donald: pooh: :goofy:

Awe . Noelle is 2 already , so crazy !!

Hope the princess has a magical birthday !!!

we always like to see who can see the fire station first going into DTD.

parker loves the themeing of it outside.

As fire stations go, it is pretty cool.

and my favorite the jenny boat.

That's my boat!

when we get into the elevator to go up to the game floor parker is so excited he is a blur to the camera.

sort of has a herman munster size forehead going on.

:rotfl2:

candi found a cupcake she really wanted but we just took a picture for the time being to remind us to get it, but totally forgot to get

That's ok, it would have been another $30 anyway.:rolleyes1

noelle was occupied by the pretty lights.

Who wouldn't be? And happy birthday Noelle!

we knew we should have eaten first.

especially when we get down to the bottom floor of the disney quest and find that there is a monsoon style rain going on outside.

:faint:

well remember those drains well they are not built for a rain this size, there is vortex water spinning around them about 3-4 inches deep, it was going up to noelles feet in the stroller the wheels of the stroller were submerged.

Nope, they're not usually sized for hurricanes. Which doesn't prevent people around here from expecting them to keep things completely dry during one of those storms...:rolleyes1

as we are getting into the lego area, you can only hear squeals of delight from both kids who are having ohh so much fun at mommy and daddy getting soaked.

All you can do is laugh. Or cry. And laughing is more fun.

we headed to earl of sandwich, and candi goes up to order our meals, while i secure a table for us.

If the day ends in Earl of Sandwich, it's a good day.

a few times that night after dinner parker would cough once then freak out and work himself up and cough a bunch more.

we were able to talk him down then.

but when we got back to the room he ended up throwing up a few times.

Uh oh. Good thing you didn't grab the cupcakes.

That's a bit of a rough evening! Lots of fun and then...not so much. Glad you got warm and fed though!

It will be a story you can tell the kids when they are older and does make for a fun memory.

The rain part, not the coughing, getting sick part.

Poor Parker. And poor mom and dad because I'm sure you didn't sleep much that night.

I'm glad everyone had fun at Disney Quest, but walking out to that monsoon did NOT sound like fun. I guess it made it difficult for you to remember to get food porn pictures. :rotfl:

Thanks for another fun update!

Looking forward to your last day.

me i slept like a log...candi she was the one up most of the night watching him...usually when i am out, im out till morning.

yeah wasnt really the mood to take the pictures, but i do remember how good the sandwich and the pizza was...and will be getting both again for sure next trip.

the last day was alot of fun.

Bummer about the rain. At least it happened at night and not during golf :)
thats true, noelle wouldnt have liked sleeping in a rain storm...and it made for a fun story for us to remember as well.

For how many times I have been there I have never seen the Jenny boat...lol

Holy rain batman...

Yummy Earl of sandwich. Never been to Wolfgang Puck Express, next on the list. I have ate at the WGP Cafe though and it was delish!!

Poor Parker.... My kids are like that. When my daughter gets sick she screams at the top of her lungs like someone is stabbing her. Glad she doesn't get sick often!!

Great update!!
really? the boat is right there next to the stairs, you cant miss it, something to check out,
that was our first time eating at woflgang, well sort of eating there, the kids leftovers but it was very good and we will be back there for sure.
yeah some kids just cant handle it well, i think it is more hte unknown of what is happening, and how to handle it...we just have to reassure him he is all good.

it was a fun run after we were soaked and could laugh at the kids having so much fun at our expense thats for sure.

hopefully you are right the new plans for it look really cool and just hope it does have a cover over a good portion of it...once you get to the lego store you can go through alot of it without getting too wet since the stores are alot closer at that point.

Thanks! It's great to be back again! I'll have to check into the movie schedule for the sing along!

I'm sure Noelle would love the pick a pearl as well when she gets a bit older! :-)

we are looking forward to getting back to the campground on a trip, i know you guys are going to have a blast.

i found this for you for the remainder of the month what movies are playing at the sing along...if you are going next month, just google, fort wilderness outdoor movie schedule on the 1st of the month.
Aug 24 - Toy Story 3
Aug 25 - Finding Nemo
Aug 26 - The Game Plan
Aug 27 - Mulan
Aug 28 - The Princess and the Frog (see our princess page)
Aug 29 - Remember the Titans
Aug 30 - Teen Beach Movie
Aug 31 - Wreck It Ralph

wish we were able to spend more time there, 2 hours isnt enough to let them play with everything but gives you a good amount of time to find out what you like to play there.

yep they usually seem to hit when you wish they wouldnt...but it is what it is i guess.:thumbsup2

i have not eaten at bunch of the DTD places but the ones we have we have enjoyed...maybe next trip we can add another one to the mix...

bart simpson....forgot that one, but it really does fit

Items at Disney like that always look interesting, and then I start to wonder.............How do you eat THAT??? I mean, without totally dismantling it first???
yeah i would need to borrow a bib from noelle for that one...or just stuff the whole thing in your mouth at once.

:lmao: .............I'm sooooo glad I wasn't :surfweb: when I saw that!!!

I KNEW something like this was coming....................

And you didn't stop to take at least one picture for us? And here I thought you were a dedicated DISer.............. :confused3
i like my camera too much to get it wet.
:)
But in a pretty sort of way, right??? :rolleyes1

very true but then i would have to deal with cold and WET kids

they make there way back into the picture tomorrow, but not the whole day so thats good

Awesome update! :)
thanks, glad you are enjoying them. :)

Poor Parker. Hope he feels okay for the last full day at the Parks
thats funny, another way disney helps you take money from your pocket...they suck you and force you to keep the fun disney times rolling even when you are not there and even when it isnt a disney owned game. :rotfl:

im excited to try some more options of there pizza and they are pretty good size so they could feed more than one

Sorry you got caught in the rain. The same thing happened to us when we went to Raglan Road for dinner. Downpoured! It rained everyday we were there. I know it's common but that's never happened to me before.

Parker and I have the love of Fruit Ninja in common lol
it did seemt o rain a little more this trip than normal. im going to blame it on you since we have never been at the same time before so it must have been you that caused it.;)

Hi Dan! I know I've been awol for a while. I used your fabulous links to get caught up. What a great trip. The kids are so cute. You're doing lots of things we've never done so it really great to see it. I'm sorry for the downpour and Parker's cough. Hopefully he was better in the morning.

glad to see you back and that my links are coming in handy for those trying to catch up.

we try and do more than just the parks when we go there is so much other things to experience at disney we just try and do as much of them as possible.

Just stopped back by to leave a very important message...............

Happy 2nd Birthday to Sweet Princess Noelle!!!

princess: party: ::MickeyMo :cake: :bday: ::MinnieMo :jumping1: :tink: :donald: pooh: :goofy:

thanks marv, ill pass it along to her.

Awe . Noelle is 2 already , so crazy !!

Hope the princess has a magical birthday !!!
i know the time has flown by thats for sure, she is still my little peanut though. she had a great day.

As fire stations go, it is pretty cool.

That's my boat!
then you should be mad at tom hanks for driving it into a pier...no sense of direction what so ever...:upsidedow

That's ok, it would have been another $30 anyway.:rolleyes1

Who wouldn't be? And happy birthday Noelle!
which is why i didnt take the kids into goofies this trip, didnt need to drop that much on sugary treats in there...truth is we forgot to go in there and use some snack credits.
:headache:

Nope, they're not usually sized for hurricanes. Which doesn't prevent people around here from expecting them to keep things completely dry during one of those storms...:rolleyes1

If the day ends in Earl of Sandwich, it's a good day.

Uh oh. Good thing you didn't grab the cupcakes.
i know they arent size for those huge rains, but i figured they would be a little bigger for the disney dour pours, but maybe ours was just extra downpour that night...i know alot of reports i read from that time of the year, that that nights rain was extra huge and lasted really long alot of people had issues with that rainfall that night.

you have it there, but really any day ending at any disney restaurant is pretty good in my book.
:thumbsup2

That's a bit of a rough evening! Lots of fun and then...not so much. Glad you got warm and fed though!

It will be a story you can tell the kids when they are older and does make for a fun memory.

The rain part, not the coughing, getting sick part.
yep many ups and downs those last few days, and just when we thought we turned a corner with the sicky it came back to us.

a great campfire story thats for sure, we have many of those fromour family trips over the years.

party: :bday: party:

HAPPY BIRTHDAY NOELLE

Cannot believe it has been 2 years.

thanks pat, i know it seems like just yesterday i was racing down main street go get to the hospital...what yesterday i was speeding down main street...:rotfl:

Live life update

ran out of time for a real update today so thought i would throw in a few pics

as some of you saw yesterday was little princess noelles 2nd birthday.

it was also parkers first day of school.

so i took the day off work to hang with them

noelle woke up all smiles for her big day.

her favorite toy was the talking Boo doll from monsters inc that she got...it sounds just like boo and says all her phrases from the movie, and noelle has almost half of them down and says them with her.
after her presents we walked paker down to his bus stop.

can you tell he is excited to ride the bus?

and in his seat at kindergarten. dogs are sort of the theme in the classroom.
hence the dogbowls on the tables for there crayons and such.

after we met parker at his school to take a picture, we left and spent the morning going shopping with noelle to a few places and getting her a few more things for her birthday that she had gift cards and her birthday coupons for.

then spent the afternoon playing with her new toys waiting for parker to get home and then went out to eat to celebrate both occasions for the kids.

it was a good day and looking forward to her big party this weekend.

:)

hope everyone has a good weekend.

Love how excited Parker is to start school. Hope he has a great year !!!

Hope Noelle has a wonderful birthday party :)

I said it yesterday, but I'll say it again....

Happy Birthday, Noelle!! :yay: :dance3: :yay: :dance3: :yay:

I hope she liked her Dora doll. :rotfl2:
I love that Disney was able to capture Boo's voice from when she did the movie, such a sweet little character. She always makes me cry at the end of the movie.

The kids look amazing, as always, and I'm so happy to see Parker happy about school. :goodvibes

Hope you and Mama didn't cry too much after you saw him off to school.
