I have a room booked for Dec at the WL club level. Does any one know what rooms have 2 queen beds. We don't want woods view but inner courtyard close to the building. When I booked that requested two queen beds not one queen bed & bunk beds.

Want to be close to lounge but not that close if you know what I mean. I looked at the page that has room location but hard to see the numbers etc. So if anyone has stayed club level, inner court yard over the rock falls . I know confusing. I have stayed here many times but since they went to more rooms with one queen & bunk beds. I am at a loss lol. Ty

Yes, you should have a view of Bay Lake from the INNER courtyard rooms. The others face more towards the villas and likely will have a more obstructed view of the lake.

In general the lake view gets better with higher floors. Fourth floor is nice because it is the first floor that is continuous between the North and South wings, and also it has some "Bear Face" rooms which are courtyard view and open to the lobby. We think that's an awesome combination, and they are only on the 4th and 5th floors.

Thank you!! I'll have to remember that.

Ok...I don't want anyone to get crazy but, I was just reading over in the Dining Reviews a thread that is "Coming to you live..." Now sit down...scanne is at WL right now staying CL and she posted that last nights offerings at OFC was not only the Apple Cobbler but the Berry as well!:upsidedow

In all our years, I am ashamed to say, I have never tried any of the cobbler. We are rarely back from the parks to eat at OFC. But, this year, I will try to sample all.:thumbsup2

This is an awesome summary of the WL, thanks! I particularly love the room map; I know exactly which room to ask for now. :cool1:
When we checked into WL in 2005, the CM remembered us from 2004 and upgraded us to WV 4001. So want to stay in that room again! November will be our 15th visit to the Food & Wine Fest, 10th stay at WL!

Ok, so I have decided to book a bunk bed room instead of going CL.

I know I have read somewhere on the thread which floors have open balconies, closed balconies, and do 1st floor have a patio?

I am going to request North Wing (to be close to food and boat), but am torn between booking woods view and courtyard view. Ultimately, I think it would be nice to have a good lake view with an "open" balcony. Anything else is a bonus.

Where would that be, WL gurus? :goodvibes

(Is that how you spell guru :confused3)

WL I'm sure must be sooooo beautiful at Christmas!!!! Very happy for you to spend Christmas there! ;). Too bad military discounts are blacked out.:sad2:
Are they blacked out the week before as welll....?:rolleyes1
WL and VWL is beautifully decorated and the tree is amazing when you walk into the lobby. The blackout starts 12/23 (our arrival day) and that is the earliest we can arrive due to DD's school. I'm so looking forward to being able to go during non-peak periods someday.

I have read that the mousekeepers are actually lodgekeepers here at wl?? Can someone please confirm?

Me and my son are decorating our tip enveloples (16 to be exact) and we want to address them appropriately :woohoo:

MY Main question here is what is the reasonable tip to leave for 2 adults and and a 4 yr old.

I plan to do turndown service as well - because I think it will be fabulous coming back to the room w/our beds waiting for us.....so this will be a double envelope trip - I don't want to be cheap - I know the lodgekeepers work hard, but I don't want to go overboard - I have already gone over budget ;). Can anyone please tell me what the going rate for lodgekeeping is?? I thought I read somewhere it was $1/person?? (I have read so much stuff I'm thoroughly:confused: confused)

Thanks for any help I can get - AND WDW SPEED TO YOU ALL :grouphug:
Yes, they call themselves Lodgekeepers. Housekeeper tipping is optional, but a general rule is $1 per person, per day. When I've left a turndown tip in the past, it hasn't been taken, so I stopped tipping at turndown. We are also frequently in the room at turndown and choose to decline it. On the CL floor, turndown is in the late afternoon - early evening. There is much less work done at turndown. But again, tipping is optional.

Thank you for the map and the explanation of what the inner courtyard is. I have been trying to decide if I should request a specific area, now I at least have some direction to take.

I'm still not completely sure what to request though (We are booked for Courtyard View). I don't care about seeing fireworks. I would rather be closer to the lobby and still have a great view of the courtyard. Any suggestions would be great.
I think that all the INNER Courtyard view rooms have great views of the geyser, Bay Lake and pool. If I were you, I would request "INNER courtyard, close to lobby," since you would like to be close to the lobby. Is there a particular reason you would like to be close to the lobby?

Good Morning! :goodvibes

Great seeing the OFC windows and Bear Face rooms:thumbsup2

I'm a few days behind, but happy anniversary, and happy to see you're going back to your happy place!! I'm probably not the one to speak, but you have to splurge for your Christmas gift AND anniversary booking!! Two celebrations in one definitely deserves something special. :thumbsup2

(Do we ever really need a reason?? :rotfl2: )
:rotfl:I like your thinking. Your VWL stay is coming up soon! Notice I left out your non-WL related cruise:snooty:

First off i wanted to say that this is a great thread, everyone is so helpful. We are booked for a stay at WL from 12th to 17th Dec, in a woods view room. My two DS 11 and 13, want to have a room with a patio, they saw them on the room photos, as we live in a condo with a balcony and they want to be able to walk outside onto the grass to run around. What area of WL would be best for this type of room? Thanks in advance.
:welcome: and I'm glad you've found the thread helpful:). I would request a North Wing room on the ground floor so that your boys can run around in the grass right next to your patio.

I just noticed we aren't listed on page 1. We are WL CL Aug 30 thru Sept 2. Our first night is off site over by Sea World, we leave to drive down on Aug 29 after my husband gets home from work.

We are 14 days away, I am so excited. It's all we can talk about now.
You're logged now:thumbsup2. Only two more weeks!!

I'm so glad this thread shows the refurbished rooms, I like them much better!!!

Would you say courtyard 4th floor is a good location? Do you have a view of Bay Lake from the courtyard view rooms?

This is the view from a 5th floor Courtyard View room:

Two cobblers are better than one! But why isn't scanne posting some over here:scratchin

You should try the AP cobbler and WCC also has a yummy cobbler. Then you can compare/contrast to CL cobbler;)

Thank you and :welcome: to the DIS and the WL/VWL thread! GrandCalifornian did a great job creating the new room number map. You can request a specific room number, but if it's unavailable, the Room Assignor won't know why you wanted that room. I would add, "Or something nearby" to your 4001 request, if you liked it because of it's location. If you liked it for some other reason, I would mention that instead.

Just saw this review on Disney Dining. :goodvibes

I hope you can access this link.
I forgot to thank-you for the link:blush:. You could tell from the review that he didn't have much, if any, WDW CL experience and he only stayed one night.

:thumbsup2 to guru...

Some of the 6th floor and all of the 7th floor CL rooms have balconies with solid railings. All of the first floors have patios. A good lake view would be a Courtyard View booking with an INNER or WL courtyard view request on floor 5.

That's neat. Another poster Raya was looking into requesting these rooms. They look nice, I'm glad you enjoyed the upgrade to them.

I think that is a good call to make sure you get your bunk beds. As for open or closed balconies, the top floor of a given section usually has the enclosed balconies. In the East end of the North wing, this means the 6th floor would be enclosed. (Our first WL stay was in 6027 and we loved the view, but you did have to be standing.) If you booked courtyard view, the middle of the North wing would have open balconies on the 6th floor because there are CL rooms above it. On the North wing I think all of the 5th floor and below rooms are open balcony, but there is always the chance of a weird exception.

For a lake view our booking would be Courtyard view with requests of Inner courtyard, high floor and open balcony. Good luck!

I got my room at the military discount for December 17th club level at the WL :) Not sure about closer to Christmas. She did say they were going fast :)

We just checked in this morning and got an unexpected upgrade to a courtyard view. We are traveling with my parents in two rooms and were surprised when we looked out the window/ door. So happy right now!

Anyone? TY
Sorry that I missed responding to your question. The map that we have doesn't indicate bed types. I believe there are 6-8 bunks scattered randomly throughout the 7th floor and 4 other kings besides the 4 HS rooms. Most of the rooms are queens, and I believe that unless you request a king or bunk, you would not be given them. You could request an inner courtyard view, mid-wing. Here is the CL room number map:

HI!!!
Thanks for all the info..I am new, just booked WL for ou pre-cruise in October.

Considering packing that would require a small load of laundry before we set sail....anyone use the laundry room? Much of a wait or seems as if washers were always available?

Thanks much

Hi! I am on your cruise meet thread. I just upgraded from PO-FQ to WL for three days after our cruise.

Yippee! The WL Room Assignors are the best. The front desk CMs usually don't know when you've been upgraded so it can be quite the pleasant surprise when you first open your door and look at the gorgeous view. Congratulations and have a wonderful vacation!

Me too! Is that what makes us gurus? :confused3

I haven't stayed CL but I think any Courtyard view CL room with two Queens will be pretty close. You could add near lobby, but would that possibly be too close to the lounge?

Congratulations! Room upgrades are an awesome part of WL, they just make you so happy. :goodvibes Enjoy your trip.
